Keep fighting the good fight, my American brethren. You need only look north to us in Canada to see the dysfunction of a nation with gun controls. Should our situation ever change, I would be packing for protection in a cold minute.

I thought the honest thing to do would be for those priests to declare their sin before God and seek whatever help is available to them. Endorsing sin is not honest; it's destructive.

"A liberal church with a gay bishop that consecrates perverted unions? The Anglican Church is dying slowly and soon it won't be remembered. Good riddance."
The US Founding Fathers were wise in not wishing to have a state religion like the C of E when they came up with the separation of church and state. Now, England must struggle with a national, monarch-protected church running faster and faster towards full-out apostacy and collapse.
I think discerning what course of action to take in a significant situation can be a tricky thing for anyone. I use a combination of approaches (not necessarily in this order):
- Common sense. - Reflection on where I feel called. - The study of on-point Scripture. - Prayer for guidance. - Seeking the counsel of mature Christians I trust.

*** Along with science, it is now even accepted by the Catholic Church that gays are born that way. ***
I'm an alcoholic. The science I have read suggests my liver works differently in breaking down alcohol than the typical social drinker. The Bible is clearly against being drunk. Yet I don't say, "Well, God couldn't have meant that applying to me since I can't help getting drunk due to my genes." On the contrary, I stay away from that first drink, go to meetings, and learn to live sober.
In other words, I place Scriptural truth and science in their proper places -- science subservient to Scripture and not vice-versa.
As an aside, the science you so rightfully claim is not as one-sided as you portray. However, if being gay (or alcoholic) was learned or genetic, the solutions that come from Scripture are still the same.
