  • Chinese pianist plays anti-American song at US State dinner for Chinese premier.

    This story demonstrates the incompetency of the WH. The pianist picked the piece and stated that he did so to make Chinese feel good about the military power of China. The station that broadcaset the concert is very sympathetic to the ChiComs. The incompetent people in power in our government didn’t have a clue what was going on. That is the very depressing part.

    ““My Motherland” having been played at the White House will be seen as a propaganda triumph in China.

    “In the eyes of all Chinese, this will not be seen as anything other than a big insult to the U.S.,” says Yang Jingduan, a Chinese psychiatrist now living in Philadelphia who had in China been a doctor in the Chinese military. “It’s like insulting you in your face and you don’t know it, it’s humiliating.”

    “At the White House State dinner on Jan. 19, about six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began tapping out a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”

    The film depicts a group of “People’s Volunteer Army” soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military “jackals.”

    The movie and the tune are widely known among Chinese, and the song has been a leading piece of anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for decades. CCP propaganda has always referred to the Korean War as the “movement to resist America and help [North] Korea.” The message of the propaganda is that the United States is an enemy—in fighting in the Korean War the United States’ real goal was said to be to invade and conquer China. The victory at Triangle Hill was promoted as a victory over imperialists.”

    I think you’re absolutely right on. In the coming stuggle for the last bastion of freedom in the world the only weapons (oh will that get me thrown in jail? should I say “tools”) we have against a thoroughly leftist judiciary may be the jury and the grand jury.

    We need to exploit these “tools.”

    “We are close to a time when all of humankind
    will envision a global agenda that encompasses
    a kind of Global Marshall Plan to address the
    causes of poverty and suffering and
    environmental destruction all over the earth.”
    - Al Gore,
    Earth in the Balance

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “In Nature organic growth proceeds according
    to a Master Plan, a Blueprint. Such a ‘master plan’ is
    missing from the process of growth and development of
    the world system. Now is the time to draw up a master plan for
    sustainable growth and world development based on global
    allocation of all resources and a new global economic system.
    Ten or twenty years form today it will probably be too late.”
    - Club of Rome,
    Mankind at the Turning Point
    “The concept of national sovereignty has been immutable,
    indeed a sacred principle of international relations.
    It is a principle which will yield only slowly and reluctantly to
    the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation.”
    - UN Commission on Global Governance report
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “Democracy is not a panacea. It cannot organize everything and
    it is unaware of its own limits. These facts must be faced squarely.
    Sacrilegious though this may sound, democracy is no longer well
    suited for the tasks ahead. The complexity and the technical nature
    of many of today’s problems do not always allow elected
    representatives to make competent decisions at the right time.”
    - Club of Rome,
    The First Global Revolution

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “The emerging ‘environmentalization’ of our civilization
    and the need for vigorous action in the interest of the entire global
    community will inevitably have multiple political consequences.
    Perhaps the most important of them will be a gradual change
    in the status of the United Nations. Inevitably, it must
    assume some aspects of a world government.”
    - Mikhail Gorbachev,
    State of the World Forum
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “I envisage the prinicles of the Earth Charter to
    be a new form of the ten commandments.
    They lay the foundation for a sustainable
    global earth community.”
    - Mikhail Gorbachev,
    co-author of The Earth Charter

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “In my view, after fifty years of service in the United Nations system,
    I perceive the utmost urgency and absolute necessity for proper
    Earth government. There is no shadow of a doubt that the present
    political and economic systems are no longer appropriate
    and will lead to the end of life evolution on this planet.
    We must therefore absolutely and urgently look for new ways.”
    - Dr Robert Muller,
    UN Assistant Secretary General,
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “Nations are in effect ceding portions of their sovereignty
    to the international community and beginning to create a
    new system of international environmental governance
    as a means of solving otherwise unmanageable crises.”
    - Lester Brown,
    WorldWatch Institute

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “Adopting a central organizing principle...
    means embarking on an all-out effort to use every
    policy and program, every law and institution...
    to halt the destruction of the environment.”
    - Al Gore,
    Earth in the Balance
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound
    reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world
    has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both
    governments and individuals and an unprecedented
    redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift
    will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences
    of every human action be integrated into individual and
    collective decision-making at every level.”
    - UN Agenda 21

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “The goal now is a socialist, redistributionist society,
    which is nature’s proper steward and society’s only hope.”
    - David Brower,
    founder of Friends of the Earth
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “If we don’t overthrow capitalism, we don’t have a chance of
    saving the world ecologically. I think it is possible to have
    an ecologically sound society under socialism.
    I don’t think it is possible under capitalism”
    - Judi Bari,
    principal organiser of Earth First!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the
    industrialized civilizations collapse?
    Isn’t it our responsiblity to bring that about?”
    - Maurice Strong,
    founder of the UN Environment Programme
    “The only hope for the world is to make sure there is not another
    United States. We can’t let other countries have the same
    number of cars, the amount of industrialization, we have in the US.
    We have to stop these Third World countries right where they are.”
    - Michael Oppenheimer,
    Environmental Defense Fund
    “Global Sustainability requires the deliberate quest of poverty,
    reduced resource consumption and set levels of mortality control.”
    - Professor Maurice King
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place
    for capitalists and their projects. We must reclaim the roads and
    plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams,
    free shackled rivers and return to wilderness
    millions of acres of presently settled land.”
    - David Foreman,
    co-founder of Earth First!

    “Complex technology of any sort is an assault on
    human dignity. It would be little short of disastrous for us to
    discover a source of clean, cheap, abundant energy,
    because of what we might do with it.”
    - Amory Lovins, Rocky Mountain Institute

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “The prospect of cheap fusion energy is the
    worst thing that could happen to the planet.”
    - Jeremy Rifkin,
    Greenhouse Crisis Foundation
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the
    equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun.”
    - Prof Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “My three main goals would be to reduce human population to
    about 100 million worldwide, destroy the industrial infrastructure
    and see wilderness, with it’s full complement of species,
    returning throughout the world.”
    -Dave Foreman,
    co-founder of Earth First!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    “Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the
    affluent middle class - involving high meat intake,
    use of fossil fuels, appliances, air-conditioning,

    Good find. I like the follow-the-money part:

    “The case of ENRON (a now bankrupt Texas energy firm) is illustrative in this respect. Before disintegrating in a pyrotechnic display of unscrupulous manipulation, ENRON had been one of the most intense lobbyists for Kyoto. It had hoped to become a trading firm dealing in carbon emission rights. This was no small hope. These rights are likely to amount to over a trillion dollars, and the commissions will run into many billions. Hedge funds are actively examining the possibilities; so was the late Lehman Brothers. Goldman Sachs has lobbied extensively for the ‘cap and trade’ bill, and is well positioned to make billions. It is probably no accident that Gore, himself, is associated with such activities. The sale of indulgences is already in full swing with organizations selling offsets to one’s carbon footprint while sometimes acknowledging that the offsets are irrelevant. The possibilities for corruption are immense. Archer Daniels Midland (America’s largest agribusiness) has successfully lobbied for ethanol requirements for gasoline, and the resulting demand for ethanol may already be contributing to large increases in corn prices and associated hardship in the developing world (not to mention poorer car performance). And finally, there are the numerous well meaning individuals who have allowed propagandists to convince them that in accepting the alarmist view of anthropogenic climate change, they are displaying intelligence and virtue For them, their psychic welfare is at stake.”

    “Turn the calendar back to Feb. 10, 2007. Then-Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential announcement speech said of the digital age: “Let’s lay down broadband lines through the heart of inner cities and rural towns all across America.”

    He was making the Internet a vital part of his campaign, and his equal-access mantra recruited an early net neutrality constituency.

    On June 21, 2007: John Podesta, head of the Center for American Progress, released a report co-written by Free Press that complained about conservative radio talk shows outnumbering progressive radio talk shows.

    Free Press got all the attention for demanding the FCC make them equal, but the report helped one of CAP’s co-authors, senior fellow Mark Lloyd, into a job as Obama’s FCC Diversity Czar.

    In November, 2007: Genachowski released the report of Obama’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Policy Working Group, which he had been leading for months. It showed him using the Internet as an Obama constituency manufacturer and mobilizer.

    His report bragged: “More than 280,000 people have created accounts on barackobama.com. These users have organically created over 6,500 grassroots volunteer groups and have organized more than 13,000 off-line events using the site.”

    When Obama won on Election Day 2008, the constituency list had grown enormously, and they didn’t throw it away.

    Podesta, co-leader of the Obama transition team, might want it to help fill positions in the new administration. Same with Genachowski, enlisting brain power for the transition’s Technology, Innovation, and Government Reform Group.

    After Inauguration Day, both men knew what was in the constituency list and both had the expertise to mobilize it. Podesta went back to running CAP, and Genachowski became chairman of the FCC — where he created a new position for Podesta’s colleague.

    It’s only a guess, but when they were ready to mobilize the foundations and activists into a phony net neutrality mass movement, it probably didn’t take more than a few phone calls.

    By the way, Genachowski isn’t just Obama’s old law school buddy. He’s a digital multimillionaire who once served on the Boards of Directors of Expedia, Hotels.com and Ticketmaster.”

    It’s deals like this that are destroying our country. If DOD or executive branch has a suggestion about spending money to rennovate or change some facilities then it should be submitted as a bill to Congressional debate. Exchanging for votes subverts congressional deliberation on both sides — the bill being voted and the expense of the bribe.

    I would hope the new tea members keep that in mind. There should be no compromise which moves the government in a centralized, socialized, globalized direction. It does not work. People are poorer and individual choice is narrowed. I am depressed the pubbies would even consider mixed sitting at the next State of U address. Not only does it break a long tradition but does not send the kind of strong message to the commies in power about their resolve.

    Of course I would expect McCain and Brown and Snowe to go sit with their constituents showing exactly how willing they are to compromise.
