McCain and Hagel are different. McCain is supportive of the war but undermines Bush on just about every other issue (campaign finance reform, judges, and global warming just to name a few) whereas Hagel is critical about war but supports Bush on most things. Hagel is pretty reliably conservative with respect to most issues whereas McCain is not.
Even if Senator Dumbass observes climate change firsthand, how does he know it's created by man. Surely you couldn't know that just from going to Alaska and looking around.
I think Collins, Snowe, Graham, and Chafee have already expressed support for McCain's bill that contains mandatory emissions control (Kyoto lite). This was a PR stunt as they're minds were obviously made up before the trip.
No, unfortunately those on the left almost never error when nominating judges. The only one that comes to mind is Byron White, but then again Kennedy wasn't all that flaming.
I'd like to know why we never here a peep out of the MSM when cars with Bush stickers on them are vandalized, but some yahoo runs over some little crosses on the side of the road and it's deemed "newsworthy"?
A Prime example is our Canadian Progressive Conservative Party. The Liberals here have a strong majority because the PCs don't really offer any alternative. The PCs here are to the left of your RINOs.
The right track wrong track polls mean absolutely nothing. As pointed out by a few rational leftist commentators during the last election, Democrats were foolish to emphasize right track wrong track polls. If a majority of respondents believe the country is on the wrong track that doesn't mean that a majority supports a more a leftist approach. It's quite possible that many of the respondents believe that the country is on the wrong track because they belive in a more conservative approach. The same applies to the President's approval ratings.
We have more in common than it first appeared. I'm not anti environment in any way, but I'm not willing to sacrifice capitalism. I remember a report that came out years ago stating that the socialist USSR had the worst environment of any country on Earth
It's not a knee jerk reaction at all. The simple fact is that the environmental movement is more about statism and putting private property into the hands of the government than it is about protecting the environment
