Ted Sampley was a Viet Nam Veteran, and activist for POW/MIA's and he stood with us at Walter Reed on 30 September 2005 when Rolling Thunder paid us a visit. Ted and I became friends with the common thread being our complete and total hatred of code pink. The obituary says a lot, but it doesn't do justice to the passion Ted had for his Viet Nam veteran brothers, or the passion he had for this current generation of Warriors. The world has lost a good man, but he is in good company, re-united with his brothers from "The Herd"

Dear Friends and Pro Troop Supporters, Have you ever visited YouTube and noticed there is no specific category for “Military?” Have you also noticed that while there are tens of thousands of military videos, you have to wade through group and video titles such as “Gays in the Military,” “Military Fairy,” “Gangs in the Military,” or “Military Air Drop Bloopers?” Finally, have you noticed that some excellent military videos seem to disappear because they offended someone’s politically correct sensibilities? Well now there is a new place for patriotic Americans, who support our troops, to post and categorize all of their...

I’ve confirmed that there’s some kind of problem on the Internet, that only seems to affect users of the Internet Explorer 7 web browser. Attempting to browse to many sites results in an ‘Operation Aborted’ error. No information about the problem elsewhere yet ... stay tuned. UPDATE at 8/1/08 7:20:27 pm: It appears to be related to Sitemeter.com — browsing to their web site with Internet Explorer 7 produces the error too.

We would like to thank the people of Northern Michigan for their support and encouragement during the difficult period of the past six months since the tragedy of Matthew’s death. The communities that have shown support have been a real blessing to us and our extended families and friends. Words do NO justice for our gratitude. In the past, when Matthew left for deployment, the only thing to bring peace in our hearts was to think about his safe return. We know that won’t be happening now. However, Matthew and us have an extended family that reaches far beyond this...

The left has no heroes Posted By Uncle Jimbo Apparently the left doesn't have any heroes, they believe that anyone in or out of uniform who is not protesting or telling tales of atrocities reminiscent of Jenjis Khan, is simply a tool of the vast right-wing conspiracy. In the La La land inhabited by the liberals in Minneapolis the voices of our heroes cannot be heard unless countered by the progressive voices of the anti-war crowd, and even then they are not suitable for High School children. I mean God forbid they gain a positive view of our military or...

Through email, and the blog, here. Background: I’m doing this in OPORD format, since most of us know that format the best. SITUATION: I was contacted today through work by the Senior Group Leader of the Basic Non-Commission Officers Course (BNCOC) on the grounds at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Any of you who have been to PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC or Sergeant Majors Academy no doubt remember these courses. They’re not exactly R&R. Now imagine doing it as a wounded troop. Here was his first missive to me: I am currently an active duty Army NCO conducting first of it’s...

"The most dramatic testimony out of the IVAW's Winter Soldier II hearings is that American troops are using bullets in Iraq!" Col. Harry Riley, US Army, Retired, at Eagles Muster, Washington, D.C., May 15, 2008. There is a saying that sunlight is the strongest disinfectant. That was certainly the case this past weekend in the Washington, D.C., area when American veterans and troop supporters gathered to counter the Iraq Veterans Against the War's ill-conceived Winter Soldier II "hearings" at the National Labor College in Silver Springs, Maryland. The original Winter Soldier "investigation" was a farce put together by John Kerry's...

On Wednesday, March 19, POG will be holding a torch-lit march to a modern day castle of abominations—our local military recruiting station. If the station remains open, we intend to evict it and everything inside of it, occupy the location, and transform it into something useful for the community. We'll also be bringing a movable cage in which to confine military recruiters until they no longer pose a danger to our friends and neighbors. Of course, the station may be closed and recruiters may flee or hide behind the police apparatus that enables the war to continue. That is often...

OK, FRiends, I have a favor to ask of you, and its not a donation. It's help explaining why Iraq and Astan are not Viet Nam, and you'll be explaining it to a 26 year old W&M graduate with a conservative Christian upbringing who sent me an email in response to the DC Recruiting Station and the threats of violence posted on indymedia and has asked me this question:That’s unfortunate. Violence is never necessary. But is there a reason this isn’t another Vietnam? Government cover ups and miss-reads sounds a lot like what happened back then. I remember a day when...

An anonymous, rabid, property destroying, leftwing poster on Indymedia has leveled threats of violence against me and Trooprally. Seems they take exception to people standing up and exercising their Constuttionally protected rights to speech, assembly, and association. I did post a response.

Mark your calendar for February 27, 2008. You are invited to a party at the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City -- the one next to the mall. Now, it's not our party. It's John Murtha's party. (see the last item) I just want you to go crash it. Take pictures of the people who are there. Let's put them online. Let's make sure this thing gets in the headlines. Let's expose Democrat hypocrisy. The annual payback dinner by defense contractors who benefit from earmarks by Democratic Rep. John Murtha, chairman of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, will be held Feb. 27 at...
