Frankly, the White House could care less about about the Obamacare website and the cost to individual buyers. While middle class “I didn’t vote for Obama” self employed families are losing their insurance, 9M “Obama Voters” are going on Medicaid without a glitch. Giving lip service to security, along side Medicaid registration HHS flawlessly implemented a voting registration system for each new subscriber, just in time for the 2014 election. Of course the system does not register people who pay full price for healthcare, only those getting Medicaid or a subsidy....

....So, If I don’t buy any insurance, I save $6,360. The risk is, something big happens. But if that does, then I can immediately buy insurance to cover it. The new insurance won’t start the deductible process until I purchase it. Which basically means if my wife or I get really sick, buy the insurance before costs exceed something between $0 and $6,360. This is sort of our personal actuarial process. But each year, we save the money so that break even point will change. To be fair, the penalty goes up to 2% in 2015, so the savings will...

On a mid term and long term basis, the regulation of price and cost in a narrow service offering on a federal regulated exchange ultimately slows innovation, curtails supply, and drives entrepreneurs out of the healthcare field. The economic incentives of ACA are out of sync with the forces that have driven down the cost of computers, cars, phones, etc while improving quality and availability. Once the near term euphoria of web site hits wears off, we will find the new insurance plans were bought by people with existing insurance, the young invincibles undersubscribed, and health care costs are higher.

You can go to alternate free exchanges and without registering find the cost of an ACA plan for you. Many of us buy insurance in the individual market (self employed). If you follow the link above, it explains how to compare plans between 2013 and 2014. Please quote a plan for 2014 and compare it to your existing plan or a 2013 plan from the website. Then twitter it with the instructions explained in the link. Then we can all get a Transparent display of the real cost. And maybe, if enough of us do this, it will help more...

I am not sure about this, but it appears you don't need to waste your time buying insurance on he exchange, you can go directly to insurance companies or go to other online exchanges. Not sure why feds spent so much time/cost building an exchange when they already exist.

If the government reduced spending to avoid raising the debt limit, would the economy collapse? No. So why does adhering to debt limit and forcing reductions cause a collapse? Of the 84 times the Debt Limit has been raised, every time the president negotiated with congress over budget and other issues. What is actually unprecedented is the current president's unwillingness to negotiate.

With the Fiscal Cliff behind us, it is time to focus our country on fixing the economy. In the last 4 years, in an effort to help the economy, spending has exceeded revenue by $1T each year. Our National Debt at $16T exceeds our annual GDP. Government spending can help economic growth at times, but this government spending has not. While the President enjoys his victory lap, it is time for the adults to stand up and focus the nation’s mind on our fiscal house. Like any good plan, simplicity of purpose gets a lot accomplished. The President does not...

If you are passionate about the need for gun control, I recommend you take a Conceal Carry course to understand the mind of honest gun owners. The President is still Polling the issue to determine how far he can go on gun control while keeping conservative democrats in his 2014 coalition. I await the results of the Chicago team's micro segmenting "borg" to understand the systematic calculus we now define as leadership......

President Obama made a brilliant move giving up Rice for Secratary of State. He can now move her to National Security Advisor, much how Nixon originally had Kissinger inside the White House. As National Security Advisor, she is covered by Executive Privilege (Secretary of State is not). This positioning affords Obama a great deal more strategic range. Kerry in State plays into placating Republican Senators - they will resist attacking Kerry. Kerry is ultimately an ineffective leader (also known as "Figure Head"), so he can travel the world collecting frequent flyer miles without disrupting the President's Foreign Policy Agenda. Loss...

In response to President's #My2K Hashtag twitter request (estimated increase in taxes for middle class), I recommend instead we all twitter with the Hashtag #My52k - the amount every grandparent, parent, and child individually owes on the national debt. Republicans should offer no new revenue without a capitulation on spending. Please make this viral....

As part of its long term plan for a regional theocracy (Caliphate), it seems reasonable for Al Qaeda and its supporters to further weaken US military leadership. Its perfectly reasonable to think Al Qaeda and other nation states are running intelligence operations against US officials. Any intelligence officer knows that somewhere between 30%-60% of people cheat on their spouse. They also know everyone uses Gmail, and US officials using Gmail have been hacked. American media loves a scandal, so its easy to take out someone in leadership with a story about sex. So, if a foreign intelligence officer monitored the...

WH Petition: Click link to vote In a world of real time information why is our voting system so arcane? Why for example are election results held until after all voting is over? We have polls that suggest how we are going to vote, but in the 2012 election we learned that there are D+8 and R+2 models that reflect how many Republicans or Democrats are going to to vote. Why don't we provide the real answer in real time: Tally Results as they Occur: If the election is on a single day, or months long with early voting, the...

Petraeus could probably have used better technology. Its however safe to assume if you write something in a digital realm, the Federal Government can find it if they want to find it. If you need to be discreet, feel you deserve your privacy, or otherwise want the Government and others to stay away there are some good practices to follow...

A women in Tampa calls the FBI. "I am getting harassing emails from some unknown person telling me to 'Stay away from my man'. I am not sure who she is talking about. What should I do?" Well of course, the FBI launches a major investigation that included many months of work. What else would you do?

Hurricane Sandy destroyed much of the North East power infrastructure. Customers wonder "Why weren't the utilities ready". Angry customers want all infrastructure underground. Governors want answers. Why are the utilities so bad? And how does this relate to the affordable care act?

Whatever the reason for America's decision, the reality is that taxes and government will continue to consume disproportionate resources to pay off our past excesses. 43% of those that voted, a large fraction of those voting for President Obama, thinks government should do more. Since government ultimately gets money from taxpayers, that means 43% of the voters want things from the other 57% of voters. Politicians call this 57% the 1%. If you are part of the 57% you might consider the following steps to protect your finances. Actually, since the Government won't be able to offer more goodies for...

..... Congressman: Oh, yes, I have heard that. Very good point. But I am wondering.... You are responsible for effectively spending $70B. Do you think your decision to double down, and then failing, might make the american people worry about your other decisions. I mean the other investments you might be making. Dr. Chu: Put that way Congressman, I can see them worrying, but we have a very good team now and the mistakes will be minimized......

Given this sequence of events, it is more than reasonable that King has asked for an investigation. There is no evidence of a explicit release of classified data, but the January 13 2011 variety article and Dowd Op-Ed pieces both make mention of classified access. And, the actions of the Hurt Locker team to solidify funding and settle on actors just before OBL was killed, after the project languished for years, is suspect. Would it surprise anyone that an over anxious Obama election team would use knowledge of OBL's whereabouts to hint to a leading movie director of the genre...

Health and Human Services has made it very easy for companies to file for their own waiver to certain aspects of Obama Care. Given the personal mandate and challenges in getting helath care insurance, perhaps each of us should be filling for a Waiver.
