To your reply in Post 15 -- I am the Programing Director in a seeker targeted church in Winchester, VA. We use all different types of media to get the message across. Secular music that is relevant to the lesson, Christian rock, movie clips, drama and videos that we create ourselves. No tradtional hymns used at our church unless the music is updated.

What matters most is that these artists are planting seeds in the unsaved. If you don't think that God is powerful enough to use anything to bring unsaved people salvation, then I respectfully question your faith. I've seen it happen many times in the past 6 years that I have been a leader in Grace Community Church.

Not that I want to take up for Kerry (he s#@&s) but I was a Naval Reservist and had a Top Secret Clearance. I had to have one because I was attached to Naval Control of Shipping and attended Anti Sub-warfare school.

Having to listen to a message in Spanish first in America is just plain wrong. Sad that they didn't even allow you the option of pushing a number for English in the first place.
I am very leery of the hispanic community. I was stalked by one a couple summers ago. He pushed his way into my apartment and it was only by the grace of God that I got him out. All I did was say hi to him -- from that he claimed that he was in love with me. I don't speak or look at them them anymore.
Anyone making the excuse that America is the land of immigrants and we should allow people to cross the border illegally should be strung up by their toes and have darts thrown at them. I know -- not very Christian of me but I am sick and tired of the excuses.

I don't feel sorry for them. They are breaking the law by being here illegally. We pay taxes for social services that they devour like a swarm of locust. They don't spend their money here in the US they send it home to Mexico/South America and they refuse assimilate.

I have immigrant friends who have worked hard to become American citizens and are proud of it -- sympathy for illegal immigrants is a slap in the face to the people who come here legally and work hard to become US Citizens.

Besides their music makes me want to pound my head on the wall. (Every song has the five same bass beats that vibrate through my apartment wall). I am surrounded by them! (Loudoun County, VA has a huge hispanic population)

Fred Barnes talked about his alleged conversation with Moore on Special Report with Brit Hume several weeks ago. Fred said that Michael Moore never called him and that he has never spoken with Moore.

Moore truly is a Big Fat Ugly Lying Pig and that is the truth! Every time I see him I want to throw up.

You need to get off your whining butt and do something. I lost my job two weeks before 9/11 and it took me more than 14 months to find a job. I did not blame anyone for my misfortune. Granted, I'm not making what I was making but I have a job that keeps a roof over my head.

You're talking to a South American about our economy? Funny all the South Americans are coming to the US and using up the resources that we Americans pay taxes for! Maybe thats part of the problem. Tell your South American friend to go back home if she thinks our economy stinks.

Some of the secular music we use has a "spiritual" context to it. For forgiveness -- Eagles "Heart of the Matter" Living Life for Ever -- "Dust in the Wind." Again I will say -- God is powerful enough to use anything to touch people in their life struggles.

We are a seeker targeted church -- a church designed for people who either know nothing about the God/Jesus or for people who are turned off by traditional churches for one reason or another. We get people from all walks of life in our church. Our message is relative to life's problems today.

Check out Willow Creek http://www.willowcreek.org/ our church Grace Community Church in Winchester, VA is based on their make up.

Granted some Christian music is crap -- But some Christian music is very spiritual and uplifting -- if not life changing. I am glad some Christian artists are choosing the secular end of the business. I don't look at it as selling their soul to the devil. I look at it as reaching more people in the world -- Life House is one of them. Maybe Christian artists see $$$ signs but don't you think for one moment that God is powerful enough to use that?

People today are not satisfied with the traditional way of most churches -- hymns and boring services. People can't relating to words that were written in the 16th century. There is no challenge for today's world and the young people are leaving in droves. A church that doesn't have young people to carry it will die within 20 years.

I am so glad that I am apart of a different kind of church that is springing up all of the US these days. They are focused on meeting people where they are and using different types of media to bring the message -- video clips, secular music, and spirit filled contemporary Christian music -- to creatively communicate Bible truth.

I can honestly say that it was one of the most depressing experiences I've ever had -- I still morn the loss of the little one who might have been. My husband forced me to have one more than 20 years ago. To make things worse he laughed about it and made fun of me in public. Needless to say he is no longer my husband -- he's someone else's problem. Poor dear.

Other women that I have spoken to about abortion feel the same way I do. The experience was horrible and painfully depressing.

Being a Cajun myself I have learn the history of how Cajuns came to be. Here is a brief version of how it happened. The Arcadians were exiled out of Nova Scotia by the English because they refused to give an unconditional oath to the English Crown. Beginning in 1755 the English began rounding up all Arcadians (all of their possessions were deemed worthless) and the English Crown took possession of everything they owned such as homes and livestock. The English put the Arcadians on ships (separating families, mothers, husbands, sons, daughters, etc.) and deposited them all along the US Eastern Coast, Gulf Coast and Virgin Islands without a penny to their names. It would many years before families were reunited, some never where.

To this day the Cajuns still speak 17th Century French. They do not speak the foo foo prissy French spoken in France.

"It's the influence of society or some religions," said Greg Muller, a San Jose High Academy senior who started a Gay-Straight Alliance club this year.

The above is a "Big Fat Lie". It is not a matter of religion. My son and I are both believers (born again) and my son (13 years old) is constantly picked on at school. No one hits him but they call him all sorts of names. I think it hurts me more than it hurts him.

I told him that he needed to stand up for himself and to give back what he got from his tormentors. He said that he hated bullies and if he bullied back then he became what he hates most. He's a better Christian than I am on this subject. Myself -- I'd like to knock their blocks off!

Having had to share a seat that I paid for with an overly large man once -- I have no pity for that large woman.

The man who was nearly as wide as he was tall -- had no problem lifting up the arm rest (between us) and putting his body and butt on half of my seat on a US Air Flight out of New Orleans. I should not have to share my seat with a fat person!
