Right here! I worked there for three summers. It was "full-time" work, and I worked 3pm to midnight 5 days a week.

Sadly, because I was officially on the payroll as a "Seasonal" employee, I was terminated after 89 days each summer. Otherwise, they would have had to start giving me benefits and all. WOUld have been nice to be able to get a few more weeks in some of those times.

Can't say that it was the best job I have ever had, but I have had worse.

I think the reasoning for throwing out the appeal was that the people who brought the appeal were not harmed - they didn't have standing, so they had no legal reason to file an appeal.

If you don't have standing, you can't file a lawsuit.

I've always been under the impression, and have read in different places, that hypnotists cannot persuade a person to do something that he or she does not willingly want to do..ie: sex, etc. Those who do elect to undergo hypnosis therapy do so with the intent to heal themselves in some way: help overcome an addiction, increase concentration, etc. I'm not sure the truth behind this statement, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

My fiancee and I have discussed this...um...phenomenon. Oddly enough, she is the one who is usually the more worn out.

I usually end up craving large amounts of food, liquids, and sugar..need to replenish those electrolytes I lost!

And I really don't mean to be overly-offensive or crude with this post either. Sorry.

In a few of my Theology classes in both high school and undergrad, we discussed why Jesus was always depicted as wearing a loincloth type of garment after He was hung on the cross.

    The Gospels support this theory:
MT 27:35 And when they had crucified him, they divided his clothes among themselves by casting lots.
MK 15:24 And they crucified him, and divided his clothes among them, casting lots to decide what each should take.
LK 23:34 Then Jesus said, "Father forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
JN 19:23 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier. They also took his tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top. So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it."
Note: Quotes from the NRSV of the Bible

I know this doesn't necessarily mean that Jesus was left with NO clothes, but it gives credence to the possibility that it is so.

I'm not sure how I stand on the topic of drug-legalization in general. I'll admit I smoked my fair share of dope as an college student. But I just cannot see how a government can tell a person what plants they can and cannot grow, nor how a person has to get a license from the government to grow certain types of plants.

I guess that's just the libertarian in me coming out.

CT Republicans are pretty corrupt, shouldn't call themselves Republicans.

Former Waterbury Mayor Phil Giordano comes to mind. I did my internship for the Corporation Counsel's office in Waterbury the summer after ol Phil there was removed from office--during his trial and all.

Piekarski described Stephen Maloney as a "gun buff" and said that while it does not appear he was intent on wreaking havoc, police are glad to have recovered a significant number of guns. "We got a lot of guns off the street," Piekarski said. "Even though we feel he may not be a really bad guy, these guns can cause very serious injury or death to someone on the street."

And this guys former boss is really the guy we want to head up Dept. of Homeland Security??
I can see it now: "Mr. President, in order to further secure the homeland, we need Congress to repeal the Second Amendment!"

Frankly I will loose no sleep if the Demonrats do all they can to prevent Kerik from taking that post. And I don't want Rudy to have it either!
