The latest issue of The Numismatist has an article by Q. David Bowers, page 43, has a poster on Executive Order 6102, Roosevelt's confiscation of private gold, that has the following statement in it: "CRIMINAL PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF EXECUTI...$10,000 fine or 10 years imprisonment or both, provided by Section 9 of the order."

As a less than frequent flyer, last time 5 years ago, I went through TSA security screening without my belt and shoes, passed thru the magnetometer and full body scan, the screener said that he needed to pat my butt, more like a athlete attaboy. But, then he wanted to swab my palms. Clean. Nothing he did seem unprofessional. Anyone have a similar experience? I had made some hand loads two days before.

I don't suppose he is rewriting the music to "Victory at Sea."
  • Money for Mexico from Obama administration

I just heard a sound bite on Hanity of Hillary citing $80 million being provided Mexico for drug fighting by the Obama administration. Is this the normal practice to cite the administration as the source of funds as opposed to referring the money coming from the U.S.?
  • Taps for America (Vanity)

I came in at the end of Taps being played at the NYSE with a large American Flag in the background above the opening bell podium on Fox Business. My thought was, how apt to play Taps for the economy and my country. 4 July, 1776, to 4 November, 2008. Rest in Peace America.

With the coming of the messiah, praise be his name Hussein, I am sure to be left behind, being an old white guy. Therefore, I am looking for tasty recipes for dog chow and buzzard. Next week we will discuss dog and cat, the delicacies, but, for now the staples. ;-)
  • How does the selection by president of flag officers rate?

    06/08/2007 2:01:04 PM PDT · by depressed in 06 · 16 replies · 719+ views
Flag officers in the military are the selection of the President. With the replacement of General Peter Pace, I was wondering how the class of flag officers of each president is doing? The Reagan/Bush 41 era must be coming to an end of senior leadership and now into Clinton. Specifically, the Clinton class. Wesley Clark, if not a Clinton promotion, had a meteoric rise under Clinton, I am not impressed with.

I would like to propose an alternate Sense of the Senate resolution: It is the sense of the United States Senate that there shall be victory in Iraq and the general war on terror.

Can anyone point me to a site that has the vote totals by congressional district and senatorial. I would like to know how far the Bolshecrap claim can be made that they achieved a mandate.
  • Ford leads Coker by 5 in Tennessee (USA Today/Gallup Poll)

    The Gallop Poll ^ | October 06, 2006
Tennessee Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is retiring, leaving his seat open. Earlier this year, it looked like a long shot for Democrats to take this seat, as several polls had Republican candidate Bob Corker enjoying double-digit leads in a state that typically leans Republican. However, recent polls show Congressman and Democratic candidate Harold Ford Jr., making a race of it. The USA Today/Gallup poll gives a slight advantage to Ford, 50% to 45%, although that lead is still within the poll's margin of sampling error.
  • Rhetorical answer needed, vote true or false in Tennessee.

I am to vote in the Tennessee primary. Do I vote as a Republican or a Bolshecrat? I have a favorite in the Republican Senatorial primary, but, any one of the three is better than the farce the Bolshecrats are putting up. Or, do I vote Bolshecrat, with the distinct knowledge, in November, my vote will be a two vote turnaround from what the Bolshecrats expect, and, they will expend resources getting me out to vote. Which, I will do, but, not for them. The fact that I conspire to deceive the Bolshecrats should stand me in well with them...
