Woke up to a cryptic e-mail this morning from Gov. Sarah Palin's office. All it says is she "will make an announcement at her Wasilla home this morning" at 11. On Fourth of July weekend? From her home? Hmm. My question: why did it have to be so cryptic? She's staying another month on guard -- so just wait until after the holiday, why don'tcha? A 4-year-old has died from injuries suffered in a crash on Tuesday. Little Josie Bluhm was taken off life support just before six o'clock Wednesday night. The four-year-old is killed after a driver broad-sides her family's van. The courts had revoked the driver's license more than once! It's a tragedy compounded by the fact the driver accused of hitting the Bluhm family's van, has been in trouble behind the wheel again and again.

The little girl flung from a minivan yesterday morning in west Omaha has died, according to the Omaha Police Department. Josie Bluhm, 4, was in a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country driven by her mother when the crash occurred. Her mother's minivan was southbound on 180th Street about 7:25 a.m. Tuesday when a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup driven west on West Center Road by Eleazar Rangel-Ochoa, 27, ran a red light and slammed into it, authorities said. The family of 4-year-old Josie Bluhm said Tuesday night the girl's head injuries suffered in a four-vehicle accident earlier in the day are inoperable and they're just waiting to say goodbye. A minivan carrying 32-year-old Jayme Bluhm and her three children was hit at 180th and West Center Road just before 7:30 a.m. Police say a westbound pickup driven by 27-year-old Eleazar Rangel-Ochoa ran a red light and slammed into the southbound van, causing it to spin into waiting eastbound traffic, hitting two additional vehicles. Bush Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson just wrapped up his press conference announcing the Mother of All Bailouts. He said a “bold” approach was needed to achieve “stability” in the market. Let me translate that. “Bold” = Massively massive, taxpayer-funded rescue. “Stability” = Privatizing profits and socializing losses on a scale we have never seen before in our lifetimes. I have had it with Pollyanna conservatives who continue to parrot the “fundamentals of the market are great!” line. The fundamentals of the market suck.
