Good evening!Astonishing, potentially very dangerous, events continue to unfold in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East.Possibly the worst storm system of the Winter, and there are already several candidates for that title, will move across the country this week.

Good evening! The President gives his SOTU speech Tues. night, and for me, the best part of the evening will be seeing House Speaker BOEHNER sitting behind him, and NOT Speaker PELOSI!Hope everyone in the areas covered by the Arctic cold is staying warm and safe as can be.

Good evening! The news & commentary continue to track yesterday's murders in Arizona. For some of the participants, it's not their finest hour, it's safe to say.Meanwhile a strong, winter weather system moves across the Southern U.S. bringing snow and ice to places and people unaccustomed to such things.Hope our ATRWers are safe and can keep their power. Folks are urged to stay home and not venture out.

Good evening!Putting the Christmas and New Year's season behind us, Washington, and the rest of us across the country will begin to focus on the new 2011 political terrain. The economy, the new Congress, 0's stance vis a vis the new Congress, and a huge wave of Rs installed in state legislatures and governorships, including our own Iowa Granny...all will be analyzed, scrutinized and evaluated. And not too far off in the future: 2012's election!

*Senate debate continues on the START treaty...Tensions mount on the Korean peninsula as S. Korea plans to go ahead with maneuvers...And storms rage on the West Coast causing landslides, floods, and much damage....*I'm a little out-of-touch with the news so if any of this is inaccurate or not strictly current, I apologize...

Good morning! The Shame Duck Session continues today, probably with votes on DADT repeal, and possibly a Senate vote on the START treaty. It was noted that yesterday when 0 signed the compromise tax bill, Pelosi and Reid were not present. As of last night, a budget "fix" had not been found.

Good evening! Most of the eastern half of the country is in the grip of a large winter weather system generating significant snow/rain and high winds in affected areas. In DC, the political class is still dumbfounded by last Friday's spectacle of the current President turning over his podium to a former President: "Here you handle the job...I have a party to get to, or Michelle will read me the riot act." That was the jist of of it.Odd the way 0 keeps shrinking...by his own actions and words...And finally the week begins with the news of more combat deaths in Afghanistan,...

Good evening! As we start another December week, Congress and the administration may be moving toward a deal on retaining the current tax levels. We'll see...And the WikiLeaks criminal is threatening a devastating new barrage of released secret documents if his enterprise is shut down.
-
Good evening!Concerns continue about N. Korean militancy, and as a backdrop to that drama, Wikileaks publishing of recent significant, secret diplomatic cables is proving very ill-timed.

'Tis Thanksgiving Week! And given that, we'll be hearing lots more stories about the new TSA passenger searches and screenings.Renewed bailout and financial worries grip Europe, and back home 0 seems determined to get the START treaty thru the lameduck session of Congress.

Good evening! The One returns to the country this week amid fairly negative reports on his Asian trip's success. Yet he seems oblivious to his setbacks, both abroad and here at home with the midterm elections. He probably thinks one or two more speeches will solve everything...Plus a friendly arm-twisting session when he meets with Republican leadership Thursday night.

Good evening. The time change has gotten to me, so I'm starting even earlier this Sunday evening. That is all.

Hello! The dust is still settling after the large election upheaval last Tues. The post mortems continue.I think Bob Tyrrell's piece gave me the biggest laugh, tho: he described Dems in denial, unable to leave their leadership offices and posts, and the Rs having to use stun guns and the like to move them.I'll link it below.

Good evening!Election Week has arrived, and with it we hope ~~real hope ~~ the beginning of a return to sanity. So many races to follow after many days of effort.I think that with very few exceptions we can be proud of our side and the campaigns waged on principle and ideas, and many small contributions from many different sources. It's been amazing!

Good morning!Last Weekend before the Election of our Lifetimes! No letting up folks! The Restoration of Liberty must begin!
-
Good evening!By my count, it's 22 days till E-Day, and President 0 may very well scold us campaign event by campaign event all the way there....this from someone who already was over-exposed 6 months ago.....But....I'm thinking the Dems wish he would really, really shut up, so for the good of the country we conservatives will be tough, and say, "Scold away!"

Good evening. The NON-Recovery Fall is here, and leading into election day, it's expected that higher unemployment figures will not help the Dems.Related to that, in a shocker, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has endorsed John Kasich for Governor over the incumbent Dem, Strickland. This is a "Did I read that right?" moment: a huge plus for Kasich.I guess even a Lib paper in the most liberal part of the state can't hide from the truth.
