  • NH Primary Predictions (Trump Wins, but by how much?)

    02/07/2016 9:26:20 AM PST · by parksstp · 29 replies
People laughed at me when I made my IA predictions and said Trump was capped at 27%. Lo and behold I was right. And that IA map trend foreshadowed things to come in SC if the race contenders don't shrink. But NH is a different state with a lot more liberal/moderate RINOs and Independents that lean liberal but vote in the GOP primary for candidates like McCain, Romney, Huntsman, etc. So here's an easy to comprehend breakdown of what is going to happen on Tuesday night.
  • Trump Spokeswoman (Katrina Pierson): "Malcolm X is my Idol, Republicans are Racist"

    Daily Caller ^ | 01-22-2016 | Peter Hasson
Since joining the Trump campaign as a national spokeswoman in November, Katrina Pierson has served as an attack dog of sorts for Donald Trump, attempting to expose his critics and opponents as faux conservatives who are simply pulling the wool over the eyes of the American people. And yet, Ms. Pierson’s own statements reveal she is a self-proclaimed devotee of Malcolm X (whom she has referred to as her “idol”) and has a history of attacking conservatives as racists, sneering at Christians who are unable to “handle the truth” and mocking candidates who open up about their faith on the...

The conservative writer who organized the big anti-Donald Trump manifesto out tonight, along with three of the writers who signed on, to explain why they do not want Trump as president and do not think he is a great vessel for conservative values. National Review is running a huge anti-Trump manifesto available online later tonight, organized by editor Rich Lowry. The writers include Glenn Beck, conservative media watchdog Brent Bozell, Erick Erickson, Bill Kristol, Dana Loesch, Michael Medved, evangelical leader Russell Moore, former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Katie Pavlich, John Podhoretz, and others––for a grand total of 22 major anti-Trump...
  • 'Tax Wall Street': Trump Pledges After Stock Market Selloff (huh?)

    NewsMax ^ | 01-09-2016 | Newsmax via Bloomberg News
Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump pledged to "tax Wall Street" as he sought to use a severe stock market selloff to plant new seeds of fear among voters during a campaign rally Saturday in Iowa. At times, the real estate mogul sounded more like Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders, a constant critic of Wall Street, than a billionaire candidate running for the Republican presidential nomination. "There's a bubble," Trump told his audience in Ottumwa, southeastern Iowa, noting the nation's high level of debt. "You see the stock market is starting to, you know, see what's going on," he said....

  • Can Trump Restore America?

Aristotle teaches that while we must love our friends, we must love truth more. Today, I am probably going to lose some good friends, which is painful. Nevertheless, my admiration for everything America was, everything modern civilization was, compels me to bite the bullet. Donald Trump may win the Republican presidential nomination. He may even be elected President of the United States -- stranger things have certainly happened recently. However, while his popularity is understandable, an essential question remains: Is Trump the kind of leader who might begin to restore a crumbled constitutional republic?
  • CR Commentary: How to Identify a Political Slappy

    Conservative Review Commentary ^ | 2016-01-08 | Steve Deace
There are two simple ways to identify the political slappy in this 2016 presidential election: First, the political slappy latch on to easily refuted issues/objections, regardless of any factual evidence presented to the contrary. Second, the political slappy rely on child-like arguments to justify why the candidate they’re a slappy for can still win; despite the fact said candidate is at 3% or lower in the polls — and with no money — just days before the vote. - See more at: https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2016/01/how-to-identify-a-political-sappy#sthash.E1SkkPXP.dpuf

The media typically begins any Presidential campaign with comparisons to Harry Truman. The Reagan re-election in 1984 had the comparison. The Bush re-election in 1992 had the comparison. The Clinton re-election in 1996 had the comparison. Humorously, the off year election of 2002 used the Truman comparison too, as did 2004. The media does this not only because a lot of them are lazy and not only because a lot of them talk with each other at beltway soirees where they infect each other with their various often contrived narratives and talking points, but also because they really do want...

Last week’s Crystal Ball repeated its refrain that Donald Trump is very unlikely to get the Republican presidential nomination. However, it issued the caveat that “[i]t would be easier to make our argument if we could explain precisely how and by whom the real estate tycoon will be dethroned.” Who can and will defeat Trump? The answer is obvious, but also not obvious because the question seems to beg the name of another candidate. The “who” that will defeat Trump is not another candidate but is most likely to be the Republican voters who actually turn out in Iowa, New...

often come away from the conservative/Christian conferences I’ve attended around the country with the feeling that we’re trying to drive the car by hitting the gas and the brakes at the exact same time. Although I have met many wonderful people at those events, and received no shortage of inspiration from the speeches I have heard, there is also a shadow that looms over everything. This shadow taunts us with visions of an army, whose soldiers run away or whose weapons jam right at the very moment in the fight when resolve and execution matter most. - See more at:...

The atrocities in Paris over the weekend show that events can and will inject new issues into the presidential contest or intensify ones that already exist. But it’s important to remember that what dominates news today might not be what dominates it a month from now, and we still have two and a half months until the primary season begins and nearly a year before the general election.

He currently holds unprecedented leads in national polls, including across-the-board edges in all of the early primary/caucus states. His likability numbers with Republican primary voters are on the upswing. He’s a billionaire who can spare no expense in self-funding, which means he’s already amassed the largest war chest anyone will have in this campaign. Nevertheless, most of the intelligentsia still doesn’t believe Donald Trump has much of chance to be the 2016 GOP nominee.

CNN)Donald Trump appeared to contradict his own immigration policy proposal Tuesday, just two days after releasing a detailed outline of his plans. Trump said he wants foreigners who study at American universities to be able to stay in the U.S., but his immigration plan released Sunday would make it more difficult for foreigners to obtain certain visas and green cards that would allow them to remain and work in the U.S. legally.

Back during the government shutdown of 2013, Carly Fiorina told CNN’s The Lead that she felt badly for Boehner and blamed the shutdown on Ted Cruz and Obama: Everybody could see this train wreck coming. I actually feel badly for John Boehner. I think this is Ted Cruz and President Obama’s shutdown. I think Ted Cruz’s tactics were wrong. There’s no honor in charging a hill that you know you can’t take, only casualties, although Ted Cruz maybe got name recognition and money along the way. But President Obama wanted this shutdown. And Ted Cruz played right into his hands....
