No disrespect to Mr. Mike Lindell, but the My Pillow commercials are becoming quite monotonous. He needs some fresh material. Also, disappointed that he has to go to Egypt for his cotton. What’s wrong with home grown American cotton?

Mitch McConnell has taken much grief in this forum over the years. As we celebrate Trump's victory and all the hope it engenders, never forget that McConnell withstood tremendous pressure to keep the Scalia seat vacant. Thanks, Senator McConnell - Your action will have positive effects far beyond the term of Donald Trump. Here's hoping the replacement is in the mold of Scalia!

A little dated, as these comments were offered before Scott Walker dropped out and before Carly Fiorina advanced to the top tier. Still insightful.

Mayor Annise Parker took a moment on Twitter to bash former Houston Astros star Lance Berkman after he voiced opposition toward the city's equal rights ordinance known as HERO. In late September, Berkman recorded an advertisement for the Campaign for Houston PAC, a group that is opposed to HERO. "My wife and I have four daughters," Berkman says in the ad. "Proposition One, the 'bathroom ordinance,' would allow troubled men to enter women's public bathrooms, showers and locker rooms. This would violate their privacy and put them in harm's way. That's just wrong." The mayor called Berkman a hypocrite for...

President George H.W. Bush is displeased that Georgia Democrat Michelle Nunn is using his picture in ads for her Senate campaign. Nunn, who led Bush’s Points of Light Foundation until 2013, is touting her past Bush ties to counter claims by her Republican opponent, David Perdue, that Nunn is an Obama follower. In a new campaign ad, “Familiar,” Nunn highlights her former relationship with Bush, showing off a 2009 picture with the former President, as proof that she is able to work with Republicans and Democrats. But George H.W. Bush officially endorsed Perdue in September and is upset that Nunn...

In alphabetical order: Todd Aiken, Sharron Angle, Ken Buck, Connie Mack, Richard Mourdock, Christine O'Donnell, Tommy Thompson, The last two election cycles, Republicans have shown an infinite capacity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the U.S. Senate. There are great opportunties in 2014 to knock off incumbent Democrats (Pryor, Hagan, Landrieu, Franken, Begich and perhaps several others). There are also several open seats (West Virginia, Iowa, Montana, South Dakota) that are great opportunties. The formula should be to nominate the most qualified and conservative candidate who can actually win. Until the GOP figures that out, we'll be...

A Cleveland-area woman who found a couple of ghostly figures in a photo taken with her cell phone said she's not freaked out about it. "To me, it was awesome," said Marcella Davis. "It's not scary to me." David took the photo about 4 p.m. April 15 at Cleveland High School, where she was trying to get a shot of her nephew, who attends the school. "He spun around so I couldn't take his picture, so I got the back of his head," she said. "I didn't try to take no more because he didn't let me." Davis, the mother...

Homeless Man Can Keep $77,000 He Found Along River The Bastrop City Council decided it’s finder’s keepers. The council has voted to allow a homeless man, Timothy Yost, to keep $77,000 in cash and gold coins that he found along the banks of the Colorado River, KVUE-TV is reporting. Yost found the money Jan. 18 when he went to the river to wash his feet, the Austin station says. The city has had possession of the treasure while officials worked unsuccessfully to find the owner. It will still be a while before Yost can spend any of his windfall. KVUE...

Astros Remove Colt .45 from Colt “Throwback” Jersey “The Astros are marking their 50th anniversary this season, so they’ll be wearing an assortment of throwback uniforms for Friday home games,” espn.go.com reports. “That includes the uniform of the Houston Colt .45s, which was the team’s name for the first three years of the franchise’s existence.” With a slight modification. Astros’ authentication manager Mike Acosta told a fan that “During our discussion with Major League Baseball, it was expressed to us that we could wear the uniform as long as the pistol was removed. We realize this changes the original design,...

Rick Perry may be stuck near the bottom of the polls among those vying to become the Republican nominee for president, but he might still enjoy a second act, according to veteran journalist Cokie Roberts. “He’s got the resources and nobody else does,” she said during a press conference before the “A Conversation with a Legend” fundraiser for the MD Anderson fundraiser in San Antonio Tuesday. “If we do see Newt Gingrich self-destruct, which I think is highly likely, and Romney continue to sit there at 23, 25 percent, then people will start looking around again. Roberts, a political commentator...

Conservative radio talk show host and best-selling author Laura Ingraham got tongues wagging in Texas today when she declared that Rick Perry is running for president in 2012. Ingraham was doing an interview with conservative Indiana congressman Mike Pence when she let loose with her Perry “scoop.” According to the conservative blog Ace of Spades HQ, Ingraham revealed that “she knows someone very connected to Perry, and that guy says he’s in.” OK, no named sources here. And this is third hand gossip, at best. But what the hay? Ingraham has been a big Perry fan for a long time....

Perry for POTUS? Almost a year after rumors flew around Austin about Perry’s possible presidential ambitions after a pollster made calls to Iowa testing how a generic, conservative, southern governor would play in that state. Yesterday, the rumors got new life after Real Clear Politics reported that they had three separate sources saying that Perry was nosing around the race for POTUS. A Texas pol who is close to Perry has been telling a few key strategists that the nation’s longest-serving governor sees a vacuum and is waiting to be summoned into the race. This source believes that could happen...

FREEPORT — It’s the catch of a lifetime, but it’s not clear whether a Texas fisherman landed an 8-foot shark or it landed him. Jason Kresse, 29, of Freeport, and two crew members had been fishing for red snapper about 50 miles into the Gulf of Mexico and were dumping fish guts into the water about 3:45 a.m. Monday when they heard two big splashes in the distance.

Months after a sex scandal shook Bedford's Daystar Television Network, the broadcaster is downsizing three of its production facilities, including one in Texas. The move is intended to make better use of the capabilities of its headquarters, spokesman A. Larry Ross said. The affected studios, in Houston, Denver and Ashland, Ky., will function as transmitter sites operated by a limited technical staff. The downsizing affects production personnel at these facilities, Ross said. "This was a business and programming decision to achieve operational parity among Daystar's 114 television stations and to better utilize the expanded capabilities of the network's Bedford headquarters,"...

Apparently all that blood rushing to one place can be deafening. According to researchers at the University of Alabama use of Viagra and other medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE-5i) such as Cialis and Levitra may be associated with hearing loss. Researchers examined data on 11,525 men over the age of 40 who were surveyed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. They found men who use these types of medicines are twice as likely to report hearing loss.
