A month ago there were two gators removed from the lake across the street from me because they were stalking a toddler that was at the edge of the lake. One gator was 9 feet, the other about 8 feet, and there are others still in the lake, and are no problem. People fish the lake all the time,no problems. We are in south central Florida about 45 minutes north of where the huge gator was caught after it was eating cows, and being a pain in the butt to farmers. Where ever there are lakes, lots of them, just like here you will have gators. Just beware, and keep in contact with fish and game commission.
