  • Don't surrender - keep fighting Obamacare

    Dick Armey
I received this from my automatic email from Dick Armey: "Representatives and Senators need to hear from you not only on the phone, and via email and traditional mail – but in their own backyards. A district office visit doesn’t take long, and is a very important step that shows you are serious about preserving our freedoms. Many folks are having trouble getting through to their Congressmen on the phone – some offices are no longer answering, other lines are jammed. If they won’t listen when we call, then you need to show up on their doorsteps!"

Please offer your health care ideas Editor: As the congressional representative for New York's 20th District, I am committed to upholding a high standard of openness and transparency as I work to make decisions on key issues. Health insurance reform is one of the most important issues our nation is addressing. Over the past few months, Congress and the American people have embarked on a critical discussion that may shape the future of our health care system. One is hard-pressed to locate an individual with no opinion on his/her health care options, and Americans are vocalizing these opinions with extraordinary...
  • Draft of my letter to the editor re: Obama/Pelosicare

Dear Editor: The "health care reform" bill targets the unborn, very sick and senior citizens. Father Pavone of Priests for Life called it FOCA (Freedom of Choice Act) in disguise. He also said: "The “health care reform” bills being finalized in Congress will set off a chain reaction that will result in a massive expansion of abortion! That’s because, unless Congress explicitly states that abortion is excluded, it will be regarded as “an essential benefit” for Americans." Senior citizens and the very sick of all ages will be harmed, or die, because of rationing. That's how they intend to save...

This Week on Fox News Sunday: (8/23/09) Amid charges of "Death Panels", Chris Wallace uncovers explosive new information about a "death book", already being used by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, that encourages the nations' veterans to pull the plug. snip REP. ARMEY: The Medicare law that was written by the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and the chief lobbyists of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, voted on without amendment as an amendment to Social Security, first imposes severe sanctions on physicians and medical providers that don’t comply with its requirements, and it says to seniors at the age of 65 you can no longer buy the insurance that you bought prior to 65. And now by virtue of an internal memo—not a regulation, not a law—they tell seniors today... MR. GREGORY: All right. REP. ARMEY: ...if you don’t sign...
  • Are you going to your congresscritters' town hall meeting to ask about "health"care?

With the August break, there will be town hall meetings around the country, and I wonder who is going, and have you ever gone before. I never went to one, and I haven't heard of one coming up in my area, but if I do, I would like to go, particularly to ask questions about the "health"care bill.
  • Possible vote this week re: Sr. Citizen health rationing (call your reps)

RARTL Alert: Urgent! Possible vote this week! Senior Citizen Health Rationing And Congress has so far voted down every effort to fix the abortion issues mentioned in the earlier alert on this Health Care Reform Bill. What to do: Telephone your representative in the House in Washington as soon as you possibly can. What's the hurry? Several sources say that Nancy Pelosi is pushing for a vote on the massive Health Care Reform bill before the August break. They might vote this week. What to say: Please vote against the Health Care Reform bill currently before the House unless the...
  • Why did Congress exempt themselves from Obamacare?

    07/26/2009 6:19:00 PM PDT · by Sun · 37 replies · 2,443+ views
Why did Congress exempt themselves from being included in the healthcare they want for the rest of Americans? Maybe it's because Congress members don't want themselves and their families to be at the mercy of bureaucrats about whether they can receive quality of life treatments, or even treatments for their very life or death; rationing; long lines; or when they become senior citizens, be forced to have counseling every five years, or more often if they are sick, regarding alternatives for end of life care. Rep. John Fleming, (the 2007 Louisiana family physician of the year), put forth a bill,...

PRESIDENT Obama promises that "if you like your health plan, you can keep it," even after he reforms our health-care system. That's untrue. The bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care plan with limits on your access to specialists and tests. snip When you file your taxes, if you can't prove to the IRS that you are in a qualified plan, you'll be fined thousands of dollars -- as much as the average cost of a health plan for your family size -- and then automatically enrolled in a randomly selected plan (House bill, p....

  • False alarm: Schenectady school budget did pass (Jim Tedisco's good idea to cut spending)

The budget’s passage means the board is spared from having to adopt a contingency budget of $165.5 million, which would have increased the tax levy by 15.8 percent. District officials said state law locked them into a formula that used the inflation rate plus costs from increased enrollment. “Nobody wants to do a contingency,” Ely said. That possibility had prompted Assemblyman Jim Tedisco, R-Glenville, to craft a bill mandating that a contingency budget always be below a budget previously rejected by voters. He also said that using increased enrollment figures when calculating the budget is “totally inappropriate. “Whether this passed...
  • Estrada Filibuster Vote Fails for Fourth Time (Where were the Hispanic leaders THEN?)

WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans on Wednesday failed for a fourth time to break a Democratic filibuster thwarting a vote on President Bush's nomination of Miguel Estrada for a federal appeals court. Republicans need 60 votes to end the filibuster and then a majority to approve Estrada for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Their latest effort again fell short, this time by a 55-44 vote. snip Republicans have accused Democrats of treating Estrada unfairly because he is a conservative Hispanic.

Representatives for Republican Assemblyman James Tedisco and Democrat Scott Murphy are at the State Board of Elections in Albany on Thursday, reviewing contested absentee ballots in the race for the 20th Congressional District. Members from each county board of election in the district have come to the Steuben Street offices, along with attorneys for Tedisco and Murphy. There are about 1,150 absentee ballots still left uncounted in all, but Thursday's count only involved about 200 or so. Political figures from both the left and right speculate that Tedisco does not have a chance to overcome what is a fairly substantial...

Absentee ballots still being counted ALBANY- The counting continues in the 20th Congressional District as more absentee ballots are opened. Since the March 31 election, it's been a back and forth race between Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican Jim Tedisco. A court hearing is set for Monday, April 13 to decide when to count military absentees. The State Board of Election is reporting that the unofficial vote count shows Murphy with a 35 vote lead.

AGAIN, the libDem politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, and the Obama administration are trying to stop the military votes from being counted. Unfortunately, it is the military voters who will probably end up being disenfranchised and having their votes discounted, thanks to the irresponsible New York Board of Elections and the half-hearted actions of the Department of Justice. The problem for military voters in places like Iraq and Afghanistan is that it takes so long for absentee ballots to make the trip by mail from county election officials in the United States to bases in combat zones overseas and back again. As a result, only a tiny percentage of their votes get counted. Non-profit groups examining the issue of ballot delivery times...

Worse Than AIG: IBM Seeks Federal Stimulus Money While Outsourcing Jobs From The Hudson Valley To India March 26, 2009 · STATEMENT FROM JIM TEDISCO (R,C-SARATOGA) CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS: “Reports that IBM – which today cut thousands of jobs in Dutchess County – wants federal stimulus funds while outsourcing jobs from the Hudson Valley to India, is outrageous and possibly worse than what AIG tried to do. Stimulus funding was supposed to spur the creation of jobs – not aid companies that are outsourcing to a foreign country. This type of misguided priority is exactly why, back in February, I...
