More foreboding for the Democratic Party as Rasmussen's weekly look at the generic congressional ballot shows the GOP increasing their lead to 10%. 45% of voters would go for their district’s Republican congressional candidate while 35% would opt for the Democratic. This is the largest lead since President Obama was inaugurated. The first poll after the inauguration had the Democratic party with a 7% lead meaning that there has been a 17% trade off in only 14 months. Additionally those picking neither party has dropped slightly from 23-20%. The generic ballot is a great way to show American Voters disapproval...

Even as the latest poll tells us that 48% of Americans believe that the seriousness of global warming is generally exaggerated (up from 41% just last year), President Obama and a small band of US Senators are still trying to push expensive job killing climate change legislation that puts a first-ever price on carbon emissions.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Obama administration's moves toward regulating greenhouse gas emissions are sending Congress a message to act quickly on climate change legislation, Entergy Corp.'s chairman and chief executive said Wednesday. Wayne Leonard told reporters he believed the administration was acting because Congress has been too slow to address the problem. The Environmental Protection Agency declared Monday that carbon emissions could endanger human health and would be subject to federal regulation.

Who needs Congress to help govern America? Not the Obama administration, it seems. At the UN Climate Control conference in Copenhagen yesterday, Environmental Protection Agency head Lisa Jackson said that she wants to work with Congress to contain carbon emissions that her agency claims are "dangerous." "This is not an either/or moment. This is a both/and moment," Jackson said. With 20,000 delegates, advocates and journalists jetting to Copenhagen for planet Earth’s last chance, the carbon footprint of the global-warming summit will be the only impressive consequence of the climate change meeting. Its organizers had hoped it would produce binding caps on emissions, global taxation to redistribute trillions of dollars and micromanagement of everyone’s choices.
