Okay people. You all know that this year is the 100th anniversary of the Cubs' first season in Wrigley Field. You also know that as of last year the national version of WGN no longer carries Cubs games. The Chicago station does, but the "superstation" apparently makes more money showing episode after episode after episode of a show called "Bluebloods" (which I know absolutely nothing about) than it does showing the Cubbies. So I looked up the radio station that currently carries the games and found it online. Well guess what? At game time I get the very beginning but...
  • Dick Morris: Trump's 'Brilliant' Campaign Short on Delegate Process

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz isn't stealing the GOP presidential nomination away from Donald Trump as the front-runner says, but is only working the system better, political analyst Dick Morris tells Newsmax TV. "What's going on really is that Trump is a guy who intuitively understood stuff that no other politician did, and he invented a style of campaigning that will live long after him," Morris told "Dennis Michael Lynch: Unfiltered.""This was a watershed year in that he brought a whole new method of incorporating social media and rallies and all of that stuff. It was brilliant," Morris said. "Of course,...

Walt Kelly created a cartoon strip character known as Pogo and Pogo once spoke some profound but simple words. Matt Drudge put it this way https://twitter.com/DRUDGE/status/718880067833561088It's more than that. This is a dangerous time. The Boston Globe is no longer a "newspaper." It is a tool of propaganda. When editorials are the front page the fourth estate has abrogated its journalistic responsibility. Wikipedia defines "journalism" this way: Journalism is the social work and work-craft, and profession (high-level) of reporting on the events, facts, and people that are the "news of the day," such that a society is "informed," to some...
  • Beck Discusses What Would Happen if Trump & Cruz Were Denied Nomination: ‘It'd Be End of the GOP’

Glenn Beck appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd Sunday morning to discuss the possibility of an open Republican presidential convention. Todd began by noting that an open convention would deny the Republican nomination to both front-runner Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, whom Beck has openly endorsed. “We’ve heard it from many people that are Cruz supporters and … Trump supporters over the airwaves, who are concerned that somehow the party establishment may deny both of them,” Todd said. He asked Beck how conservatives would respond to such an outcome. “I think it would be the end of...

“We’re at war,” the video began. “No one wants to admit it, but humanity is under attack.” The narration continued, delivered over swelling music and video of protests and gunfire: “One very specific man might be all that stands between humanity and the greatest threat of our brief existence.” The man being offered as the savior of a doomed world is Donald J. Trump. And on Monday Mr. Trump shared the video with the millions of people who follow him on Twitter and Facebook as he tries to secure the Republican nomination for president. But the original version of the...
  • In diverse and liberal New York, Ted Cruz seeks his sliver of support

BRONX, N.Y.—Fresh from a key victory in Wisconsin’s primary, Ted Cruz arrived at Saburosa 2 — a Dominican eatery owned by Chinese-Americans in the South Bronx — ready to court a small, conservative constituency scattered around the largely blue state of New York. But as the afternoon meet and greet unfolded, it became clear that the Texas senator wouldn’t be able to woo potential supporters without also encountering challengers. “Why are you in the Bronx if you’re such an anti-immigrant?” asked Gonzalo Venegas, who was with his brother, Rodrigo. The two co-host a show on TeleSur English and make up...
  • Glenn Beck on #NeverTrump: I wouldn’t vote for a Trump/Cruz ticket — or a Cruz/Trump ticket

Consider this a follow-up to Wednesday night’s post quoting Mark Levin criticizing #NeverTrumpers for wanting to hand the election to Hillary by abandoning Trump in November. Is that an attitude that’ll be universally shared in conservative media or will there be big-name holdouts? Today we get the answer. Stu Burguiere, Beck’s head writer (and the other man in the clip below), tweeted this last night, seemingly in reply to Pat Buchanan claiming that a Trump/Cruz ticket would set the country on fire:(TWEET-AT-LINK) Burguiere put that idea to Beck on this morning’s radio show. Would Trump/Cruz be acceptable? Would Cruz/Trump be...

Candidate is an aggressive user of social media Donald Trump believes his aggressive use of social media, most notably his prolific Twitter presence, is a "problem" for the campaign, according to Ben Carson. Conservative host Joyce Kaufman, a Trump supporter, suggested to Carson on Thursday that the bombastic GOP front-runner should shut down the account. "We talk about it and a number of people talked about it, including his family," Carson said. "And he knows that it's a problem. So, you know, the first part of solving the problem is recognizing that it exists." The Trump campaign did not immediately...

Sexism is driving women away from the GOP front-runner Donald Trump and the Republican Party, potentially providing a windfall to Hillary Clinton in a general election. But to ride women's discontent into the Oval Office, of course, Clinton has to win the Democratic nomination. And while she has maintained a strong advantage with women voters overall, she's not doing well with all women. White millennial women favor Bernie Sanders. Perhaps that's because the best rationale for Clinton's candidacy hasn't been effectively communicated to millennial women. There is a powerful case to be made for electing a woman president, and it...

A media firestorm erupted on March 30th with Donald Trump’s recent very unhelpful statement about penalties for women if abortion were once again illegal in the U.S. Trump was clearly baited by Chris Matthews of MSNBC during a town hall event where he made those statements. But the exchange revealed that Trump has not thought through the issues involved with unplanned pregnancy and abortion decisions, and is lacking in some essential perspective and education on the topic. Mr. Trump and his advisors would do well to spend some time reading the testimonies on the Silent No More Awareness Campaign website...

FULL TITLE: FDA Relaxes Restrictions on Abortion Pill: What Happens to a Couple When their Home Becomes an Abortion Clinic? Under the cover of the uproar from Donald’s Trumps recent flip-flop comments on abortion, the New York Times reported about a much more serious concern for those who care about women and their unborn children: The Food and Drug Administration has relaxed the guidelines for taking a pill that induces abortion, reviving one of the most contentious issues of the abortion debate. The change allows women to use the drug further into pregnancy and with fewer visits to the doctor…The...

Is America a better place today than it was back in 1956? Of course many Americans living right now couldn’t even imagine a world without cell phones, Facebook or cable television, but was life really so bad back then? 60 years ago, families would actually spend time on their front porches and people would actually have dinner with their neighbors. 60 years ago, cars were still cars, football was still football and it still meant something to be an American. In our country today, it is considered odd to greet someone as they are walking down the street, and if...
  • People who constantly point out grammar mistakes are pretty much jerks, scientists find

Scientists have found that people who constantly get bothered by grammatical errors online have "less agreeable" personalities than those who just let them slide. And those friends who are super-sensitive to typos on your Facebook page? Psychological testing reveals they're generally less open, and are also more likely to be judging you for your mistakes than everyone else. In other words, they're exactly who you thought they were. That sounds pretty obvious, but this is actually the first time researchers have been able to show that a person's personality traits can actually determine how they respond to typos and grammatical...

Our coffee club conservative meeting yielded an unusual conclusion, that some thought everyone knew. The GOPe are pushing for Cruz, but not for the reason some people think. They, In Our Opinion, don’t want Trump to win the nomination because he could/would win against any Clinton/Sanders contest, whereas Cruz, would not win against either of the Democratic contenders. So they are not backing a winner, they are purposely pushing for the Republican that will lose against the Establishment candidate, probably Clinton. Why would they do this? To keep Washington exactly as it is, and understand, they don’t give a Da!m...

Hey did anyone see Bill interviewing Leslie Stahl? According to Stahl, the mainstream media is fair but front runners are always hit hardest. Look at Ted Kennedy she used as an example. She was on to pimp her new book about grandparenting, but I was waiting for BOR to ask when the multiweek segment was coming on Hitlery's emails and quid pro quo work with the Clinton Foundation. What the heck? This was a great example of terrible followup by Bill, and letting a leftist walk all over him.

At the opening of the Turkish government-funded Diyanet Muslim center in Maryland, President Recep Erdogan lashed out at US presidential candidates for encouraging xenophobic and Islamophobic rhetoric against “primary elements” of American society. Speaking to a mainly Muslim crowd at the inauguration of the Turkish-funded Diyanet Center of America, in Maryland, just outside of Washington DC, Erdogan took the opportunity to criticize the American political elite and American society, saying that “there are still people walking around calling Muslims terrorists.” He blamed the US presidential contenders for spreading anti-Muslim sentiment in the US. In their race to secure the Republican...
