The pop star, formerly of the girl group Dream, accused Carter of rape. She opens up to Amy Zimmerman about the harassment, doxxing, and industry silence she’s endured since. ===================================================================== When she was 12, Melissa Schuman earned a place in Dream, a girl band that made its mark in the early aughts with hits like “This Is Me” and “He Loves U Not.” None other than Diddy signed Dream to Bad Boy Records, and they joined a pantheon of pop groups that were peaking in the 2000s. It was a whirlwind. “Basically, I was in Dream from 12 to 18,”...

Well known is St. John Bosco’s “dream of the two columns” where he foresaw the future difficulties of the Church, envisioned as a ship on stormy seas. Several popes strive to moor the Church and anchor it between two columns which arose amid the dangerous waters. The columns symbolized the two devotions to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and to Mary Immaculate, the Help of Christians. Calm and peace for the Church is won only when one of the popes finally succeeds in anchoring the Church between the two columns. Another St. John Bosco dream/prophecy is less-known, which can shed light...

A quintet of former U. S. Secretaries of Education is weighing in on behalf of the so-called DREAM Act designed to benefit the children of illegal aliens. "We write out of deep concern for approximately two million Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children," they indeed did write in a letter to congressional leaders of both parties. "Over the past five years, hundreds of thousands of these young people came forward in good faith to participate in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program." "They registered with the government, passed extensive background checks, and...

RINO Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told voters on Thursday that if they do not support amnesty for illegal children then he does not want their vote. He made the remarks during his press conference with far left Illinois Senator Dick Durbin. Its an attitude like this that may explain Graham’s lack of success in the 2016 presidential primary election. PJ Media reported: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) urged President Trump to support a revived DREAM Act and said at the “snap of his fingers” Trump could convince the Republican Party to unite behind providing a pathway to citizenship for all undocumented...

Most of us have about five dreams each night, though we're not likely to remember any of them. But a team of researchers has found a pattern of brain activity that seems to reveal not only when the brain is generating a dream, but something about the content of that dream. "When subjects were having [dream] experiences during sleep, there was a region in the back of the brain that tended to be very active, as if this region was a little bit more awake," says Francesca Siclari, a researcher at the Center for Research and Investigation in Sleep at...

Many conservatives believe that liberalism is a mental disorder and this report from Yahoo News confirms it. Trump is haunting liberals in their sleep, forcing them to turn to drugs and alcohol and even causing them to gain weight. Winning! Yahoo News reports on some of the nightmares liberals are having: Susan Rogers, a poet and attorney in California, is “hurtling through space with no direction” on a plane that, she discovers with horror, has no pilot. Rachelle Pachtman, who does canine rescue on New York’s Upper West Side, is searching fruitlessly through her refrigerator for something to serve Michelle...

**SNIP** It was during the remodel when Laurie Woodward, director of the school's student union, posed the question to others on the board, as well as students. "Does the MLK quote represent us today?" a student asked the board when the issue arose, according the Daily Emerald. Apparently, some students believed King's call for all people to be judged equally was not inclusive enough for some. "Diversity is so much more than race," sophomore Mia Ashley toldl the school paper. "Obviously race still plays a big role. But there are people who identify differently in gender and all sorts of...

Never let a day go by without learning something new if you can. For instance, I glanced through the news this morning and discovered something amazing: Hillary Clinton wanted to be an astronaut. This came as a bit of a shock, because from all the previous reporting I’d noticed regarding the presumptive Democrat nominee’s childhood dreams, I thought she wanted to be a Marine. (Before The Man crushed her hopes and dreams because she was a girl, that is.) But as it turns out, before she longed to storm the beaches at Iwo Jima, the future First Lady wanted to...

I have a dream Unpublished Work © 2005 Mike Swagerty 1966-67 USMC There was a time I thought I’d live forever, I was too damn tough to die But after all these years of abusing myself I’m damned if I know why And it’s looking like my living days will soon be in my past But there’s one thing, Lord, that I need from you, before I breathe my last. I’ve probably asked for too much while I was taking up my space But, I need to ask for one more thing, before I leave this place. If you’ll...

Several U.S. colleges are giving financial aid directly to students who are young illegal immigrants, extending the debate about helping people in the United States illegally at the expense of Americans who are in need of similar opportunities. Such opportunities have opened up since resident Obama's 2012 executive action that deferred deportation to millions of young people brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents. However, they still are largely ineligible for state or federal student aid. ... This policy not only encourages new illegal immigration, but comes at the expense of the college dreams of young Americans," Stephen Miller,...

“I have fetus dreams, we all do here: dreams of abortions one after the other; of buckets of blood splashed on the walls; trees full of crawling fetuses. I dreamed that two men grabbed me and began to drag me away, ‘Let’s do an abortion,’ they said with a sickening leer, and I began to scream, plunged into a vision of sucking, scraping pain, of being spread and torn by impartial instruments that do only what they are bidden …” Abortion clinic worker Sallie Tisdale “We do Abortions Here” Harpers Magazine October 1987

During Thursday night's California gubernatorial debate against Republican Neel Kashkari, California Governor Jerry Brown (D) revealed that nearly 30% of the state's schoolchildren are either illegal immigrants or do not speak English. Brown, who recently said that illegal immigrants from Mexico were "all welcome in California," praised his administration's immigration policies. He said that California is "setting the pace" on immigration laws and mentioned bills he signed that gave driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, made California a sanctuary state (Trust Act), and granted in-state tuition to illegal immigrants (CA DREAM Act).

“Dream,” with music and lyrics by Johnny Mercer, has been covered by dozens of artists. The song was introduced in 1945 by the Pied Pipers, and hit number 1. Not long after, Frank Sinatra released a version. Other well-known covers were done by Roy Orbison, Ella Fitzgerald, The Skylarks, and Michael Bublé. The first time I heard the song, I was probably five years old, and it was on someone’s AM radio—peppered with plenty of static, no doubt. It was to become one of my all time favorites. With the advent a few years ago of easy music downloads, a...

New analysis confirms what many already assumed to be true: a sizable number of Americans can no longer afford the American Dream. Inspired by the new book, Chasing the American Dream, USA Today calculated that subsidizing the American Dream costs approximately $130,000 annually, meaning the dream is only within reach for about 1 in 8 American families. The shocking six-figure price tag generated international headlines. But instead of inspiring handwringing about how to make the American Dream more affordable, I hope these numbers show us something else: the American Dream as we know it is dead, and good riddance.

Immigration activists plan to occupy House office buildings on Friday to protest GOP posiitons on illegal immigration. The crisis is sparking heated debate in Washington, where critics claim the Obama administration’s immigration policies are to blame, including the DREAM Act, which defers deportation for some children. Nearby residents who oppose the Escondido center said they’re concerned it will hurt property values, increase crime and cause other problems. But some also decried the idea of federal tax dollars being used for such purposes, especially in their city. “We want our City Council and the Planning Commission to push back to the federal government and adhere to the laws,” said Kitty Demry, who lives about a one-third of a...

The compassionate move often isn’t what it seems. Obama’s unconstitutional and unilateral DREAM amnesty has led to a huge surge in illegal alien minors crossing into the US.Since the Border Patrol was forced by Obama Inc. to begin sending minors to local relatives, the number of minors increased including children so young that their crossing is downright dangerous to them. Because of Obama’s pro-alien move, there are twelve-year olds making the risky crossing. That’s what liberal “compassion†ends up accomplishing. The Texas-Mexico border is being overrun by a surge of young illegal immigrants who are traveling alone. So much so, that...
