A man who had passed out drunk in his car with his feet sticking out an open rear door was arrested Tuesday night after he attacked two paramedics trying to revive him, Chicago police said. Brian Banks, 32, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery, said Chicago Police Officer Dan O'Brien. He was ordered held on a $15,000 bond in court this afternoon. An arrest report included with court records lists Banks' occupation as a security guard for Chicago Public Schools.

On early Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011, Deputies responded to a rural Beltrami County residence to investigate a complaint of an assault with weapons involved at this home. As officers were driving to the scene it was reported that swords were being used in the assault. According to arrest records, 27-year-old Susan Ford was passed out in the front yard of a house in the 1400 block of South 28th Street around 12:30 a.m.Monday. DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Sheriff's deputies arrested a man last week accused of sleeping nude in someone else's car. Investigators said several kids riding bicycles reported seeing a naked man sleeping in a car June 15 parked on Wagon Trail in Deerfield Township. TEMECULA, Calif. – Comedian Andy Dick has been arrested in Southern California for being drunk and disorderly in a restaurant. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says the 45-year-old comic actor was arrested Monday night at Marie Callender's after reports that he was causing a disturbance in the bar. A sheriff's statement says Dick appeared to be drunk and was unable to care for his own safety. He was booked for public intoxication and released. I often see DUI cases or the like where the driver borrowed someone's car so they could drive despite the fact the have no license and/or are suspended. Why is it the owner of the car is never charged as an accessory to a crime? If the owner did not file a police report of their car being stolen and the driver has keys, the presumption of guilt and burden of proof should be on the owner of the car. (How else would another person be driving the car?)

There are victims of drunken driving. And, according to one Montana legislator, there are victims of drunken driving laws. While speaking out against a proposed bill that would make DUI laws more strict for repeat offenders, state Rep. Alan Hale, R–Basin, said drunken driving regulations hurt local businesses and are "destroying a way of life."
