The U.S. Army's chief of staff is searching for alternatives to the multi-year Modular Handgun System effort, to include piggy-backing on Army Special Operations Command's current pistol contract. Gen. Mark Milley has used recent public appearances to criticize federal acquisition guidelines that all services must follow when choosing and purchasing weapons and equipment.

The recent horrific shooting in Kansas has drawn national attention.  On the facebook page of the dead suspect ( I will not mention his name here) was this picture of a Glock pistol.  It is a bit unusual. Florida Panhandle authorities have arrested two men they say were responsible for the shooting and wounding of a wildlife officer. The Bay County Sheriff's Office reported in a news release that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer was on his boat Friday afternoon when he was shot.

Reports on the terrorist attack on the "Draw Muhammed" art competition in Garland, Texas indicate that the two jihadis, armed with "assault rifles" and wearing "protective gear," were very quickly neutralized (within seconds of initiating their attack) by a Garland traffic cop armed with only a handgun. The bad guys rolled up at the site, exited their vehicle, and immediately opened fire on a police car at the entrance. They were able only to wound an unarmed security officer before the traffic officer engaged them and terminated the threat (and, in the process, their worthless lives).

The Marine Corps has authorized MARSOC operators to carry Glock pistols, since most of the elite outfit's members prefer the popular 9mm over the custom .45 pistols the service bought them in 2012. A former Tweed detective who let a woman use his pistol as a sex toy at Kingscliff police station has been sentenced to 20 months’ jail by a Sydney court. Mark Anthony Garner, 50, had pleaded guilty to two counts of misconduct in office on Thursday. and was sentenced by Sydney District Court Judge Ross Letherbarrow to the 20 months in jail. In this dramatic video, a snowmobiler is traveling along a remote snowmobile trail.   A moose is blocking the trail, and the snowmobiler does everything they can to defuse the situation without bloodshed.  They make considerable noise to warn the moose that they are there.  Snowmobiles do not have a reverse, and the track is narrow and hemmed in by thick woods.  To get off the snowmobile would make the snowmobiler much more vulnerable.   In the deep, fluffy snow, he and or his machine are likely to bog down.   Unknown to the viewer, a companion snowmobiler is coming up...
