Tiger Woods will miss the Masters after undergoing back surgery earlier this week for a pinched nerve that has been hurting him for several months, the world's No. 1 player said Tuesday on his website. It will be the first time in 20 years that Woods will not play in the event. The microdiscectomy was performed Monday by neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Rich in Park City, Utah. The statement said Woods will begin "intensive rehabilitation and soft-tissue treatment" within a week, and the goal is for him to return to competition "sometime this summer."

He’s too young to play the lottery, but one South Bay teen has just beat 1 in 1.56 million odds: Cale McLellan sank back-to-back holes-in-one over the weekend. McLellan, the son of San Jose Sharks head coach Todd McLellan, was playing in a junior golf club tournament on the short course at Santa Teresa Golf Club in San Jose. The 14-year-old aced the 84-yard eighth hole and then scored another hole-in-one on the 116-yard ninth. McLellan finished third overall in the tournament.

According to a picky iguana roaming the greens at the 2014 Puerto Rico Open, Andrew Loupe's golf ball, as interesting as it may be, isn't all that delicious. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A model has filed suit against Playboy Enterprises and a co-host of the Playboy Morning Show (simulcast on radio and cable TV) for allegedly striking her in the buttocks with a golf club. Obama's foursome included Ahmad Rashad, Cyrus Walker and Alonzo Mourning, the White House said. Rashad is a sportscaster and former NFL wide receiver.
