I found a Rossi .357 magnum lever action rifle for $550 today at a local gun store Good deal if you are looking for a rifle of this type? It is stainless steel and with a 20" barrel. I have been unable to find a .357 magnum level action rifle anywhere in southern California, regardless of manufacturer.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Police said a home invasion led to a deadly shootout in a south Fulton County neighborhood early Wednesday morning. One intruder is dead and a neighbor hit by a stray bullet is in the hospital. Channel 2 Action News reporter Amy Napier Viteri spoke with police who said two men kicked in the door of a Creel Road home at about 1 a.m. and began firing weapons and demanded money from a 24-year-old son living there. The man’s father heard the noise and came in with his own gun, shooting and killing one of the men,...

Sandy Koufax pitches a perfect game against the hapless Cubs while Gemini 4 astronaut Ed White executes the first space walk above the Earth. The Beatles play the first “stadium concert” in New York; Lyndon Johnson is sworn in for a full-term as president; and the first Colt M1911 Government Model is “combat customized.” The year is 1965, and the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill captures far more attention than the ministrations of Swedish gunsmith Armand Swenson. His remarkable modifications to a Colt Government Model, however, are proving to be a watershed event in the development of the M1911. Swenson...

At this year’s SHOT Show, Sig Sauer debuted a number of new firearms, to include several pistols (P226 Extreme, a modernized version of the venerable P210, and several new 1911 models) along with a brand new rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm (.308), the Sig 716. Sig’s Jeff Jetton explained that Sig Sauer built the 716 with similar technology as their popular and highly-accurate Sig 556. However, as Jeff pointed out, the gun is built on a completely new platform, which is readily apparent when you look at it. Instead of a lower receiver similar to an updated AK, this one looks...
  • How many different calibres have you fired? And which one was the biggest one?

Just out of interesst. Since my main duty was to "sit" behind my 12,7 (cal.50). I was just interessted how many calibres the "standart" freeper has fired. For me it would be the cal.50, 22.lr, 9mm, 5,56 nato, 7,62 mm × 51, and the best "moment" of my life firing a 120 mm KE (APFSDS nato) from a leopard II tank ;-)

Thought the banglisters might like this review. Questions or comments are welcome. The Ruger SR9c is a great little compact 9mm pistol. It weighs 23 ounces is 6.8 inches long with a 3.5 inch barrel. Height is only 4.6 inches. Two magazines are included with the pistol. One is a ten round mag and sits flush to the grip and also has a base plate with an extra finger groove. The other magazine hold seventeen and has an adapter so it feels like a full size SR9 grip. Sights are the three dot style with the rear sight being adjustable...

    > The CheyTac Intervention is an American bolt action sniper rifle manufactured by CheyTac for long range soft target interdiction. It is fed by a detachable single stack magazine, which holds 7 rounds. It fires .408 CheyTac or .375 CheyTac ammunition. CheyTac papers state that the entire system is capable of delivering sub-MOA accuracy at ranges of up to 2,500 yards (2,300 m), one of the longest ranges of all modern-day sniper rifles. >

Next week, I am going on a short expedition into the Russian Northwest forest. My wife's cousins along with a couple more friends will go hunting, drinking and shooting...you know man stuff. I have been informed that we will be using the obvious AK 47 and they will even have a couple of Dragunovs. I am sure to come out with a great story out of it. My question is, since I am sure to come back a weapons afficionado and I will have virtually no experience with an AR 15, for US purposes what should I set my eye...

Young lady I know is around twenty and wants to get a concealed carry permit. She knows the safety concepts and has been safely handling .22 rifles and other small arms for years. This would be her first handgun. In Texas, for a concealed carry permit, she must test with a caliber larger than .22. If she tests with a revolver, her carry permit is only good for a revolver. She is relatively small, so please no suggestions for .45s, .50 Desert Eagles, etc. (Like that ever stops anyone from suggesting them anyway ;o>).

In real life, guns are cool if you're a private detective or a sporting marksmen. But most of the time kids are always shooting themselves or trying to hold up liquor stores or something, and that sucks. In the movies, however, guns are awesome. In science fiction movies, they're even more awesome and make for some amazing prop replicas. Anything goes in the realm of sci-fi firearms and many pieces completely ignore the laws that govern actual projectile-firing weapons. Early examples of the fictional guns are the heat-ray featured in H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds (1898) and several...

No one will ever compile a top ten list that everyone will agree with. The subjective criteria used here is based on price, range required, caliber required, history of use and reliablity, and commonness of ammunition, not necessarily in that order. This is not to suggest that a person needs every gun listed. A large caliber rifle, .22 rifle or pistol, 9mm or .45, and pump shotgun are the basics. There will be lots of other opinions, but here is my list that I came up with after 50 years of shooting… not necessarily ranked in order. 1. We know...

Previously I compiled a list of the Ten Manliest Firearms. I noted that variations on the list were certainly acceptable, but still ran into a bunch of grief from non-men who were unable to read, nor to grasp that real men don't care if other real men disagree with them. Still, there are a LOT of guns out there, so I figured it was time to compile another list. You should own all of these guns before Zero takes office, and then buy more until he wets his pants and blubbers like the wuss he is. And if you don't...

(Video on site) Wikipedia: The HK416 is an assault rifle designed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It is an improved version of the M4 Carbine with many changes, most notably a new style gas system borrowed from the HK G36. It is available as a complete firearm or as an upper receiver kit that fits on any AR-15 type lower receiver. The US Army’s Delta Force collaborated with the German arms maker to develop the new carbine. Delta replaced its M4s with the HK416 in 2004 after tests revealed that the piston operating system significantly reduces malfunctions while increasing...
