  • Democrats Don't Care About Women or Minorities

Democrats care so little about minority women that they allow unlicensed facilities to kill them. The old civil rights leaders will protest when someone shoots a black man but do nothing when a doctor in an unlicensed health facility kills a black woman. Nothing better demonstrates the hypocrisy of President Barack Obama than the fact that unlicensed medical facilities are allowed to [mis]treat women in his hometown of Chicago. When a black man dies a violent death black leaders like Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton descend on the location and ask for an investigation while sometimes alleging that...

The Thomas More Law Center’s lawsuit on behalf of Legatus, the nation’s largest organization of top Catholic business leaders was sharply challenged by Department of Justice lawyers. The lawsuit is seeking a religious exemption from being required to fund the birth control and abortion services dictated by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. DOJ attorney, Stuart Delery argued that “the claimed freedom of religion infringement is without merit. The plaintiffs remain as free as ever to attend the church of their choice and to personally adhere to whatever dogma they choose to believe. What they are not free to...
  • $83,046 For A 3 Hour Hospital Visit - Why Are Hospital Bills So Outrageous?

The fastest way to go broke in America is to go to the hospital. These days it seems like almost everyone has an outrageous hospital bill story to share. It is getting to the point where most people are deathly afraid to go to the hospital. All the financial progress that you have made in recent years can literally be wiped out in just a matter of hours. For example, you are about to read about an Arizona woman that was recently charged $83,046 for a 3 hour hospital visit. How in the world is anyone supposed to pay...

Miss Sandra Fluke - The Left's Martyr of Lawlessness Sandra Fluke the new star of the New LAWLESS Democratic Party has been exalted by the reprobate Left here in America as a queen and a martyr for the radical Democratic pro abortion movement here in America. Miss Fluke came to the national stage when she addressed the House Democrat Steering Committee in favor of a private mandate for contraception coverage. In Miss Fluke's speech she insisted that her advocacy was for the enforcing on Catholic institutions, which adhere to a Pro- Life policies mandatory contraceptive coverage. Miss Fluke stated that...

A California family says they were kicked off a cross-country American Airlines flight because their 16-year-old son has Down syndrome. Joan and Robert Vanderhorst, of Bakersfield, Calif., said they intend to sue American over the "humiliating" incident at Newark Airport, in which they were told their special needs son posed a "flight risk." "It's defamation," Robert Vanderhorst told the Daily News. "It's a violation of his civil rights and its defamation." Joan Vanderhorst pulled out her cell phone and started recording the incident on Sunday in which Bede is seen quietly playing with his hat and an American Airlines official...
  • PITI Protests DNC Treatment of Bedbugs

    09/05/2012 5:29:57 PM PDT · by Ge0ffrey · 11 replies
(CHARLOTTE, NC) The unethical treatment of bed bugs brought an estimated 500 angry sign-carrying protestors outside of the Time Warner Cable Arena at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. Conventioneers have complained about the inordinate number of bedbugs under their mattresses in the Queen City. According to Susan Lunesta, spokesperson for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Insects (PITI), the Democratic National Committee has urged the indiscriminate use of chemicals to mass exterminate what most people call pests. “No bedbug should ever be killed,” said Lunesta. “It’s not their fault that they have been taken out of...

This is from Ron's update: "On Labor Day, Susie became unresponsive so we brought her to the hospital. After several blood tests and consultations with doctors, the final conclusion was that, unfortunately, Susie is not going to get any better. There are just too many battles going on in her body to handle all at once. Her mom, Elaine, said it better that I ever could with her comment made on Facebook this morning: “Susie is in hospital surrounded by immediate family. She is doing the work it takes – quietly, bravely, painlessly – to finish her life and let...

Presidential Press Secretary Jay Carney insisted that the President's admitted heavy use of marijuana as a teenager “does not prove he is a dope.” The question of whether President Obama may have suffered brain damage as a member of the infamous “Choom Gang” as a youth reared its ugly head when a recently completed study by two New Zealand professors measured an average decline in IQ of 8 points for heavy users of weed. “First of all, these figures are an average person,” Carney argued. “The President is already acknowledged to be so far above average that a decline of...
  • The Hidden Truths about Calories

    Scientific American, ^ | August 27, 2012 | Rob Dunn
Odds are you sometimes think about calories. They are among the most often counted things in the universe. When the calorie was originally conceived it was in the context of human work. More calories meant more capacity for work, more chemical fire with which to get the job done, coal in the human stove. Fat, it has been estimated, has nine calories per gram, whereas carbohydrates and proteins have just four; fiber is sometimes counted separately and gets awarded a piddling two. Every box of every food you have ever bought is labeled based on these estimates; too bad then...
  • Forced Unionization Campaign Pretending 31-Year-Old Program Doesn't Exist

    Michigan Capitol Confidential ^ | 8/30/2012 | Jack Spencer
Proponents of the "Keep Home Care Safe" proposal are trying to sell it to voters by claiming it would create a program that's been in existence for more than 30 years. In reality, the measure would lock the forced unionization of home health care workers in the State Constitution if Michigan voters approve it on Nov. 6. Of course the real reason doesn't sell as well with voters so the Service Employees International Union and its supporters are pushing the idea of safety instead. Only the protections they're talking about have existed in a federal program since 1981. To get...

*Vanity post* I'm 55 years old, diagnosed with a torn meniscus cartilage on the inner right knee. Got injured playing ball about six months ago, slipped and fell running the bases. I had the knee drained and got a cortisone shot a couple of months ago, but it started hurting again recently. Got an MRI where the diagnosis was made. Not sure yet of the extent of the tear, or if there is fraying of the meniscus also. I am seeing an orthopedic surgeon and may possibly elect for arthroscopic surgery. Any FReepers have surgery for a torn meniscus? How...

  • Wisconsin Official on Health Care Exchange: 'Waiting Is the Prudent Thing to Do'

States shouldn't be in a hurry to begin working on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act exchanges. That's the viewpiont of many states (not Michigan) and of J.P. Wieske, legislative liaison for the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. "For us, the issue is whether or not it's good public policy to move ahead," Wieske told Capitol Confidential. "Our view is that it is more prudent to wait and see what happens." Under the act, which is commonly known as Obamacare, states can develop their own exchanges. It has been argued that if states don't act first, the...

[Thurs]day Patrick Gleason, Director of State Affairs at ATR, had a piece published in the National Review explaining a new study recently conducted by the Beacon Hill Institute that examines the economic damage done by D.C.'s bag tax since its implementation two years ago. From the new study finds that the D.C. bag tax will yield the following results by 2016: [Added full context of excerpt from the actual report itself, with the additions in parentheses.] (The D.C. government’s estimate that the Bag Tax reduced grocery bag sales by 80% is too high because they used an inappropriate city as...
  • Sterilization for 15 Yr Olds Needs No Parental Consent Under ObamaCare - Effective 8-1-12

This literally made me physically ill when I read this headline: Obamacare Begins Child Sterilization Without Parental Consent. According to the guidelines of ObamaCare, children as young as 15 years old can be sterilized at no cost, and with no parental consent. I assume this means both boys and girls. If a 15 year old wants to be sexually active, how attractive might sterilization be? No worries - forever, and who wants kids any way. I can see the 15-year-old brain processing it in a quick minute. I believe more 15 year olds, and even 16 and 17 year olds...
