Two teens and a mother face charges after an apparent shoplifting spree turned more serious in Westwood [OH]. The kids apparently tried to flee the store after loading up their purses with stolen goods. One girl's mother was driving the SUV and is accused of hitting the store manager, who tried to stop their escape. The arrested mother spoke exclusively with Local 12 after the incident on Tuesday. A 34-year-old grandmother surrendered to police to face charges including cruelty to children after her young grandson allegedly ingested crack cocaine while in her Georgia home. Ebony Daniel, of Palmetto Ga., also faces charges of possession of cocaine and reckless conduct. Daniel’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Charlie Martin, was also arrested in connection with the incident, and he told WSB-TV that it was his crack cocaine the 13-month-old swallowed. The toddler was treated at a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Bulgarian media on Thursday named the suicide bomber who blew up a bus full of Israeli tourists, killing five Israelis and a local bus driver, in the Black Sea resort of Burgas on Wednesday as 36-year-old Mehdi Ghezali. Ghezali reportedly arrived in Bulgaria five weeks before the bombing and arrived at the airport via taxi, Channel 2 reported. Investigators said as many as 40 kids entered the Albertsons store at 25691 SE Stark Street at the same time late Saturday night and started stealing things. MOBILE, Alabama -- The fatal gun shot that cut down a single mother of two Saturday night occurred in front of her teenage daughter, family members said today. The daughter, who asked that her name not be used, said she was standing in her front yard when her mother, Wendy Fisher, ran across the street to retrieve their dog. Fisher yelled at a passing car to slow down because it nearly hit the pet, the daughter said. At that point a black man with short hair got out of the car, she said. Police are looking for leads in the bizarre murder of a mother who tried to slow down a speeding car. Wendy Fisher, 40, was across the street from her home in the Overlook Heights community when witnesses say a car sped down her street.   Fisher signaled for the car to slow down, then the driver stopped the vehicle and at least one person got out and started shooting. AMBRIDGE -- An Ambridge man is facing multiple charges for serving alcohol to teenagers and then sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy, according to an Ambridge police report. Von Gene Barbee, 44, of 616 Olive Lane was charged with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and endangering the welfare of a child for assaulting the boy, according to the criminal complaint. Barbee was charged with two counts each of corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors for providing beer to the teens in his home. A former UC Berkeley doctor accused of sexually molesting six male patients is being sued for wrongful death after one of his alleged victims committed suicide.
