...While I will force myself to play the pointless game of picking “winners and losers” among the candidates in a game which can not be conclusively scored, I should start by pointing out the real losers in last night’s affair… John King and CNN...

OK, here's a REALLY GREAT idea for future debate moderators: Take 45 or more seconds to ask a question, and usually it's a multi-part question, with anywhere from 3-5 topics in it, and then, give the candidate only 30 seconds to answer. But wait, everytime the candidate nears the 30 second mark, start breathing deeply/grunting into your microphone, trying to get their attention.

USA Today is headline and link only.Below is an excerpt of the transcript via Time of the interview David Axelrod did with CNN's John King last night that is the basis for the USA Today headline. KING: A man who served in the White House under George W. Bush, Michael Gerson, wrote an op-ed piece in "The Washington Post" today under the headline, "Obama the Snob." And he used a quote from the president at a Democratic fundraiser recently in Massachusetts, where the president said, "Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and fact and...

Scott Brown Slams Kathy Griffin for Calling Daughters 'Prostitutes' July 16, 2010 Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown slammed comedian Kathy Griffin for making a crude joke about his two daughters. Griffin, star of “My Life on the D List” made the comments on the Bravo network Tuesday night. The segment features Griffin being shown a photograph of Brown by two CNN reporters, John King and Dana Bash. Griffin identifies Brown in the picture, saying, “Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts and has two daughters that are prostitutes.” Bash erupts in laughter at Griffin’s comment. But Brown wasn’t laughing, blasting...

On her Bravo TV show Tuesday night, left-wing comedian Kathy Griffin referred to Sen. Scott Brown's two daughters as "prostitutes," and a CNN reporter apparently thought it hysterical. [Audio available here.] Griffin, who was readying herself for a trip to Washington, DC to rally and drum up support for a repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," brought CNN reporters (husband and wife) Dana Bash and John King onto the show to "coach" her for handling Washington. Bash is a congressional correspondent for CNN, while King anchors the news hour "John King, USA." When the couple showed Griffin a picture of...

In reports that appear to have been missed in the flurry of reporting this afternoon on the Obama administration's release of a cursory report on its in-house investigation on the administration's attempted bribery of Rep. Joe Sestak, CNN's John King reported that a White House source told him Barack Obama was kept in the dark about the bribe attempt until "recent days."Posting on Twitter around 1 p.m. EDT, King reported in three Tweets what his sources were telling him about the unfolding scandal:WH Source: prez didnt know about rahm/clinton/sestak talks until recent days; GOP pressing for more details.WH memo lacks...

Finally, there's a premiere date and a name for John King's new 7pmET political show on CNN. "John King, USA" will debut March 22nd -- with an "online preview" coming March 19th -- according to a brand new promo that was just posted on CNN.com. The announcement comes from King himself, who tweeted out the video this morning. "John King, USA" is the permanent replacement for Lou Dobbs, who left the network in November. For a period, the time slot was filled by a temporary "CNN Tonight," and later by an hour of Wolf Blitzer's "Situation Room." "One of the...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 - Victory may have a thousand fathers, but if President Bush's triumph this week had a Big Daddy it was indisputably Karl Rove - the seer, strategist and serious student of politics and the presidency that a grateful Mr. Bush himself referred to as the architect of his winning campaign. And with Mr. Bush's re-election, Mr. Rove has not only cemented his reputation as one of the canniest campaign gurus in a generation but has also put himself in position to shape second-term policies that could help realize his longtime goal of consolidating a broad Republican electoral...

WHEN ABC News broke the sad news of Ronald Reagan's death Saturday afternoon, it sent its competitors into a frenzy. The press corps traveling with President Bush in Normandy first heard the news when ABC's White House reporter Terry Moran began doing a live report in their midst. The reaction, according to one eyewitness, was "total chaos — people running ev erywhere, knocking into things." CNN's John King yelled into his cellphone that CNN had been beaten and was so upset he threatened to quit. King ended his tan trum by throwing his cellphone to the ground. Bad move: his...
