Two would-be thieves targeting a woman's purse are recovering from stab wounds after a robbery victim fought back on Sunday, police said. The woman and her boyfriend had just finished watching a concert at the Sound Wave nightclub in Mission Beach when they were attacked early Sunday morning, said San Diego police detective Debby Cotellessa. Darlington, SC (AP) - Authorities are investigating whether the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old South Carolina man was a case of self defense. Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee told multiple media outlets that Gary DuRant died at a hospital Saturday, about four hours after he was stabbed in a Timmonsville home. Deputies say they were told that DuRant forced his way into the home and got into a fight with a woman before he was stabbed.

A man accused in a Cottondale stabbing case is claiming he should be set free because of Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Alan Rice is accused of stabbing Keith Bailey in the middle and upper torso during an altercation in Cottondale in December 2008. The two men were at a gathering at 2431 Sapp Road when a fight broke out, investigators said. The bill, SB1153, was passed by bipartisan votes of 36-19 in the Arizona House and 19-9 in the Arizona Senate.
