Hey all. Just (1:00 pm EDT) heard on the radio that "several dozen war protestors are blocking traffic on Vestal pkwy on their way to protest at a military recruitment center" mostly students from Binghamton U. I belive there is an Army recruiter be at the old Ames plaza. Naturally the Vestal PD is not arresting any one. I am off to work but if any one is available to get down there it would be good at least to get pictures or video.

What is the “peace movement” doing wrong? It failed to prevent the war in Afghanistan. It failed to prevent the war in Iraq.It failed to change power in the executive branch. It failed to end the war in Iraq.It was duped by Democrats in 2006 who promised “A New Direction In Iraq” without ever having even formed a committee to brainstorm ideas until 2 months after being elected. It failed to prevent The Surge offensive. It failed to stop cannibals in the Congo [and was silent while 4-6million died as UN peacekeepers raped and sold children en masse].It failed to stop the bloodshed in...

Late one night in the summer of 2005, Matthew Sepi, a 20-year-old Iraq combat veteran, headed out to a 7-Eleven in the seedy Las Vegas neighborhood where he had settled after leaving the Army. This particular 7-Eleven sits in the shadow of the Stratosphere casino-hotel in a section of town called the Naked City. By day, the area, littered with malt liquor cans, looks depressed but not menacing. By night, it becomes, in the words of a local homicide detective, “like Falluja.” Mr. Sepi did not like to venture outside too late. But, plagued by nightmares about an Iraqi civilian...

The impeachment mob plans to stink up the Rose Bowl parade. It’s all part of the New Year’s wave of BDS activities I’ve been telling you about. Prepare for the ultimate moonbat convergence: There could be some discord during the Tournament of Roses Parade as demonstrators promise to raise issues during the holiday spectacle that has been going on for more than a century. Human rights advocates plan to protest a float honoring the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and anti-war activists, including “Peace Mom” Cindy Sheehan, intend to rally for peace… …Sheehan, the outspoken San Francisco Bay area activist whose...

There could be some discord during the Tournament of Roses Parade as demonstrators promise to raise issues during the holiday spectacle that has been going on for more than a century. Human rights advocates plan to protest a float honoring the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and anti-war activists, including "Peace Mom" Cindy Sheehan, intend to rally for peace. The theme of this year's New Year's Day parade is "Passport to the World's Celebrations." It will feature 46 floats, 21 marching bands and 18 equestrian units...

Unhinged cartoonist Ted Rall is throwing another troop-bashing tantrum. Normally, I would not feed this troll. But I agree with Noel Sheppard that this has to be the worst of the worst. Click for larger image–and make sure you do it on an empty stomach: Rall is beyond contempt. He has accused our troops of being murderers for Halliburton, mocked soldiers as sexual deviants, and derided the late Pat Tillman as an “idiot” and “sap”. Now, all in one cartoon, he shows his naked contempt for the very traits of the American soldier that helped give birth to this country...

America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks. Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers. "It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed...

Given Michael Moore’s anti-war tendencies, you wouldn’t envision him to possess so much rage. However, following his well-publicized dustup with CNN last week (please see Business & Media Institute reports on the subject here and here), the controversial schlockumentarist has published an open letter threatening the network with reprisals.

John Edwards has downplayed the terrorist threat by stating that the global war on terrorism is nothing but a bumper sticker slogan. In fact, it is very important to Leftwingers that the fiction be preserved that there is no real threat of Islamo-Fascist terrorism. Ask a typical leftwinger who is more of a terrorist threat; an Islamic fundamentalist or your average Southern Baptist and he would either answer the latter or (if trying to pretend to be sane) be unable to answer the question. Therefore it is no surprise at all that the DUmmies are in an uproar over...

The anti-Jerry Falwell venom flowed on weblogs even before the Moral Majority founder's death was confirmed. "I knew something had happened because I went outside and I was suddenly surrounded by Munchkins and they were singing," wrote Aaron on the joemygod blog in one of the comments that actually could be repeated. Bob Owens of NewsBusters.org, a blog hosted by the Media Research Center, said he was not a fan of Falwell but was "quite disgusted with the pathological hatred displayed by liberal bloggers in their reactions to his death." "Good riddens!!! (sic)" wrote joe on joemygod blog. Richard Weaver...

After rallying down State Street, University of Wisconsin students from the Campus Antiwar Network and members of the Madison community stormed the office of Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wisconsin, and staged a “teach-in.” Several protesters expressed their displeasure with Kohl’s voting record regarding the Iraq war. “We’re here to tell Senator Kohl we’re not fooled by his little trick where he tells us he’s against the war but then authorizes paying for it,” said UW junior and CAN member Paul Pryse. Kate Losey, one of the CAN event organizers, estimated that more than 200 people attended the rally. However, group members...

Ordinarily I don't bother with polls recommended by the looney left forums. But, these two came from the DCCC Executive Director in email to all on their list, presumably to make sure Speakerette Pelosi's trip to Syria is received well. Therefore, here is the body of the email and links to the two polls. "This week, as recommended by the Iraq Study Group, a bipartisan delegation led by Speaker Pelosi intends to discuss a wide range of security issues affecting the United States and the Middle East with representatives of governments in the region, including Syria. The Speaker is practicing...

(CNSNews.com) - Christian military officers who share their faith at work in the Pentagon pose a threat to national security, according to a group that advocates for religious neutrality in the military. Public displays of faith by high-ranking military officers project an image of a Christian nation waging war on non-Christians, both inside and outside the United States, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation said Monday. This created an "internal national security issue every bit as great as the one we're fighting outwardly," said the organization's president, Mikey Weinstein. "The jihadists, the insurrectionists, everybody from the head of Hamas, Hizballah, the...

"In the first place God made idiots," observed Mark Twain. "This was for practice. Then he made school boards." The San Francisco Board of Education's 4-2 vote last week to abolish the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program, which has been active in the city's high schools for 90 years, tends to support his view. Why is JROTC being done away with? It isn't for lack of interest. More than 1,600 San Francisco students currently take part in its voluntary activities. "Kids love this program as if it's family," notes the San Francisco Chronicle. It is "a program that students...

I had a dream that I was invited to give a speech on feminism at The University of Massachusetts-Amherst. And in the dream I accepted the offer, largely because I wanted the money to buy another gun. And in my dream I arrived at the airport in Hartford, Connecticut. The students who picked me up to take me to Amherst told stories of radical groups bent on destroying America - starting with an assault on the First Amendment at Planet U-MASS. The groups, I was told, would follow the Republicans to every conservative event and disrupt their First Amendment activity....

CLEMSON - A group of students is challenging Clemson University's use of free-speech areas, saying they infringe on the students' civil rights. Clemson Conservatives were censured by the university in connection with an Oct. 30 protest held outside the areas. The group held a protest Friday to get signatures for a petition opposing the university's policies. Clemson officials said they are working on revisions to the policy and hope to have them ready by Jan. 1 for review by students, faculty and staff. "No public university should have the right to restrict, limit, or abridge this fundamental right," said Andrew...

Following complaints that it was racist, owners of a minor-league basketball team in Buffalo, N.Y. have changed the logo of their team, the Silverbacks, from a gorilla to some sort of panther-critter, according to the Buffalo News. Members of Buffalo's black community were said to be upset with the previous logo — a red-skinned gorilla dunking a basketball — because they said bigots sometimes use terms such as "monkey," "ape" and "gorilla" as racial slurs against blacks. [Snip -- next story] A local council in England has told staff that it may not use the term "political correctness" at work...
