  • Aljazeera: The inevitable candidacy of Hillary Clinton

    04/14/2015 1:27:03 AM PDT · by Cincinatus' Wife · 6 replies
Aljazeera ^ | April 14, 2015 | Jason A Johnson Dr Jason Johnson is a professor of political science at Hiram College.
It's little surprise to any political observer that former First Lady, US Senator, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced she is running for the Democratic nomination for president. Clinton has made her intentions to run for president clear since her husband left the office in 2000. In 2008, Clinton ran as the "inevitable candidate", and yet lost the nomination in an upset to Barack Obama who went on to become president. In a twist of political irony, Clinton's path to the White House is clearer, safer and more predictable in 2016, and both she and her campaign team...

Stephanie Cutter was just demolished on the Fox Network by Bret Baier. Wobbling like a Weeble toy on a hardwood toy Cutter bobbed and weaved while struggling to make excuses for the 0bama Administration's handling of the murder of 4 Americans by terorists. She concluded the interview with Baier stating she was not prepared saying "Next time I'll bring my notes".

  • This Bright-Eyed Young Man Was Utterly Demolished by Student Loans

    05/31/2012 6:39:59 AM PDT · by Michael.SF. · 64 replies
Even as total outstanding student debt rises to $1 trillion, lawmakers have yet to allow loans to be discharged in bankruptcy. Without an escape clause, these loans can strangle a person. Take 36-year-old Nick Keith, who remains $142,000 in debt eight years after graduating from culinary school. He's featured in a new film, "Default: The Student Loan Documentary," in which several college graduates expose the pitfalls of the private student loan industry. "I want to educate the public about the facts," Keith said. "My life has become a daily swim in a tar pit with very little hope of ever...

YouTube video that prompted the suspension of Tucson shooting suspect Jared Lee Loughner in September was released Friday by officials at Pima Community College and included rambling statements such as "We are examining the torture of students" and "This is genocide in America." The video, no longer on the website, was released to The Times following a public records request and offers the extended example of Loughner's voice.

A Skeptical View of Constitution Worship Guest Blogger Constitution Day lecture, Johns Hopkins University, Sept. 16, 2010 Michael Klarman We are here today to celebrate Constitution Day, and, more importantly, my daughter’s 10th birthday; I am grateful to all of you for joining us on that occasion. Teymura, my daughter, feels deeply honored. It is so great to be back in Baltimore. I grew up here, as those of you with acute accent detection capacities can probably tell from my genteel “Balmur” brogue. My brother and I grew up in a house just 3-4 blocks from the Pimlico racetrack, where...

Please excuse the Vanity post - I am desperate! I have a new PC with Windows 7. At odd times I loose the Internet connection. I know cable internet signal is coming through the router as other PCs in the system have connections. At first the lost connection was happening each time I would reboot. Now it happens at seemingly "random" times .... I realize it's probly not random, but I can't see a correlation yet ... and the connection usually comes back when I reboot again. The Dell tech support wants me to reinstall the windows software. That would...

Has any presidential candidate ever dumped his VP nomination and replaced him with some one who would help his chances? I ask since I wonder if Obama might get rid of Biden and replace him with Hilary or is Obama's gargantuan ego making him blind to the fact that his campaign is in big time trouble>

The Ron Paul Political Report Volume I Number 1 Page 6 GOLD EAGLES AND LEAD BALLOONS Each month I will award Gold Eagles to champions of freedom and Lead Balloons to statists. Please send me your suggestions. A LEAD BALLOON to Jack Kemp (R-NY) and Bob Dole (R-KS) who have introduced legislation to forcibly close the Palestinian Information Office in Washington. They would also ban delegates from the Palestinian Liberation Organization at the United Nations. The authors call this bill an "Anti-Terrorism Act." But what about terrorism that uses government force to suppress free expression in this country?

DURHAM, N.H. -- Texas Congressman Ron Paul said he is "not interested" in a third party run for president if he is unable to win the Republican presidential nomination next year. "I have no intention of doing that," Paul told local reporters. "This country is not very democratic and only allows for two parties." In 1988, Paul ran for president as the nominee for the Libertarian Party. He said that experience showed him a third party run would be futile.

"Before Ron Paul can get elected, he has to be nominated by delegates at the Republican National Convention which will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota. September 1-4, 2008. We have to get elected as delegates to the convention. Electoral college delegates have to be constitutionalists because they elect the president by casting their vote. Those who support Ron Paul must begin the process now of getting elected as a delegate to the convention or it's all over and the GOP faithful will get the shadow government's choice shoved down their throats - again. The power players behind the scenes...

One thing that fuels the debate among the supporters of Ron Paul and those that think the US Congressman from Texas that is running for the Republican nomination for the US Presidency is that most believe he would have no chance of defeating Hillary Clinton. The "Libertarian Leaning" candidate was hit in the face with a bit of that recently when he was included in a poll by Zogby poll that asked "Whom would you NEVER vote for for President of the U.S.?" I was more than a bit shocked when it was revealed that those polled put Dr. Paul...
