Polish police officers, in Croatia as part of project "Safe Tourist Destination" project, were helping Croatian authorities in communicating with the survivors. An investigation has been started into the cause of the accident.

Just a few days ago, Pope Francis sent to Medjugorje Cardinal Ernest Simoni, who attended the 28th International Youth Festival. Speaking in front of the open-air altar of the Medjugorje church, where he saw 50,000 thrilled young people who came from all over the world, he said that it seemed to him that the sky had opened and that angels from heavens were coming down to earth, reports Večernji List on 6 August 2017. Similar impression, as though angels were coming down from heavens, must have been felt by all those who heard words spoken by the Cardinal that, before...

More on the Ridiculous “Ruini” Report by Christopher A. Ferrara May 23, 2017 An article in the Catholic Herald reveals further depths of absurdity in the Ruini Commission's and the Vatican's approach to the pseudo-apparitions at Medjugorje. The Herald, citing Fr. Salvatore Perrella, president of the Pontifical Institute Marianum and a member of the Commission, confirms that, laughably enough, the Commission “opted to distinguish between what occurred in the first 10 days and what has occurred in the following three decades.” The Herald further reports: "If the Catholic Church recognises as 'worthy of belief' only the initial alleged apparitions of...

"The Ruini Report": If Only It Were a Joke The Anti-Fatima Apparition Gains Ground by Christopher A. Ferrara May 18, 2017 The findings of the long-awaited “Ruini Report” of the Ruini Commission (named after its chairman, Cardinal Camillo Ruini), concerning the validity of the so-called Marian apparitions at Medjugorje that have supposedly been going on since 1981, have now been revealed. The result of the Commission’s labors, which began during the reign of Benedict XVI, is just what one would expect in the post-conciliar epoch: a refusal to state clearly that a proposition concerning the Faith is simply true or...

Pope Francis encouraged the faithful to be on guard against “visionaries” – in a remark that seemed to be aimed at the ‘seers’ of Medjugorje--during his homily at Mass on June 9. In a comment about Christians who search constantly for some special new insight, some novelty in the faith, the Pope said: “Where are the visionaries who can tell us exactly what message Our Lady will be sending at four in the morning?” Although the Pope did not identify any particular “visionaries,” his comment came just a few days after he had been asked to make a public statement...

    1. During the first days in June 1981, after interrogation of all the ‘seers,’ Fr. Jozo Zovko concluded: “You have seen satan, not the Gospa; there is no sign, there is no message.” These words of the curate of Medjugorje have been tape-recorded, and are in the possession of the Bishop of Mostar (I wrote the text). Later on, Fr. Jozo manipulated the children. He refused to exorcise them. Ref.: Ces 10 jours qui ont fait Medjugorje, J.Bouflet, Ed. CLD,Tours 2007, ISBN 978-2-85443-512-2, pp. 147-8. 2. The international Vatican commission investigating the events at Medjugorje has completed its work and will submit its findings to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican confirmed today. The Vatican released the following statement this morning: "The director of the Holy See Press Office, Fr. In a dramatic move prior to the release of the final report on Medjugorje, The Papal Nuncio to the U.S. on behalf of the prefect of the CDF Archbishop Müller has issued instructions that no cleric or faithful may participate in any meetings, conferences, or public celebrations in which the authenticity of the apparitions are taken for granted. This has come as a shock to many in the Medjugorje support community as there was an operating assumption that until final confirmation of inauthenticity, participation as if it were true was allowed by the faithful. Undoubtedly, some future debate will center...

Someone alerted me to a piece at the Italian site Corrispondenza Romana about something that Pope Francis said during a morning “fervorino” at Mass. My translation: Last Saturday 7 September during his morning meditation in the chapel of the Domus Sanctae Marthae, Pope Francis, speaking on the theme “there is no Christian without Jesus” criticized Christian “revelationists” and expressed his strong reservations about the supposed apparitions at Medjugorje. The official site of the Holy See and the L’Osservatore Romano, however, purged his words of the reference to Medjugorje, confining itself to refer to them in these terms: “There is another...

[Father Mitch] Pacwa said there is no chance for the visions to get approval while they're still going on, and it's a long shot even after they stop. One quirk that emerged was when two of the Medjugorje visionaries said the Virgin Mary endorsed a book, "The Poem of the Man-God," that had been condemned by the Vatican. The fanciful 1940s biography of Jesus by Maria Valtorta contains details like a dancing girl brushing up against Jesus, Joseph giving young Jesus an anachronistic tool kit with screwdrivers and the Virgin Mary making statements such as "man disgusts me," Pacwa...

Guidelines date from 1978 - publication linked with Medjugorje? The newly published guidelines were already on 25 February 1978 adopted by the CDF, as William Cardinal Levada, Prefect of the Congregation points out in his introduction. At that time, they were brought to the attention of the bishops, but not made known. The reason was that they concerned "primarily the pastors of the Church" said the Prefect. Why have they now been published? Is the disclosure in connection with the decision still-awaited in 2012 on Medjugorje?

As Medjugorje's Bishop, Ratko Perić, has fended off insidious allegations recently made against his predecessor - that he was a tool of the communists - we learn that Cardinal Ruini's Medjugorje commission will end it's work by the end of 2012.*** The Italian News Agency, ASCA, is reporting that Cardinal Vinko Puljić, the Archbishop of Vrhbosna (Sarajevo), also a commission member, stated that the final report will be presented by Cardinal Ruini to Pope Benedict at year's end so that the Holy Father can render his judgment. Here's the actual news report, translated: Cardinal Puljic: Report on Medjugorje ready before...

This year is the 30th anniversary of the Medjugorje apparitions and Joe Walsh Tours has trips from Dublin and Cork as reported irishtimes.com. Medjugorje is one of the towns of the Western Herzegovina municipality of Citluk in the previous Yugoslavia. The name Medjugorje is Slavic and means “area between two mountains”. This real life story occurs in the Bijakovici section of Medjugorje. On the afternoon of June 24, 1981, two girls, Ivanka Ivankovic, age fifteen, and Mirjana Dragicevic, age sixteen, were returning home from a walk. Looking toward the hill called Crnica, Ivanka saw a bright outline of a woman....

The Virgin Mary is a blue eyed teenage girl that appears taller than she is because she stands on a cloud. That is according to a new book that has carried out exclusive interviews with the the visionaries of Medjugorje, who first saw her 30 years ago this year when they were schoolchildren. On June 24, 1981, six children in the town of Medjugorje, in then Yugoslavia, began to experience phenomena which they alleged to be apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The apparition they saw had a message of peace for the world, as well as a call to...

A Morsel For the Stupid Neoconservatives Austria. [kreuz.net] This Sunday Cardinal Schönborn of Vienna praised the false Marian apparition site, Medjugorje in the boulevard magazine 'Krone'. The Cardinal recalled his then meeting with the youth that are there every summer. The young people could not see much in the village besides the stony ground and supposed poverty. But they sense: "Mary is near them".

Sitting in the Great Room A of the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. forty minutes before Cardinal Schnborn's much anticipated lecture, two young college women, almost looking over their shoulders, were deeply engaged in a hushed conversation of the still touchy subject of Medjugorje. The conversation ended quickly as Cardinal Schonborn, accompanied by a Dean of Catholic University and the Austrian Ambassador to the United States entered the room, but make no mistake, the presence of Medjugorje continued to loom large. After a brief and pleasant introduction, Cardinal Schonborn, standing behind a modest podium,...

Bishop Ratko Perić / Cardinal Christoph Schönborn Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Jan 18, 2010 / 04:50 pm (CNA).- Vienna’s Cardinal Christoph Schönborn has faxed a letter of apology to Bishop Ratko Perić following the cardinal's well-publicized visit to Medjugorje. Bishop Perić, whose diocese includes the famous site of alleged Marian apparitions, had previously issued a statement expressing his displeasure at not being informed of the cardinal's visit. At the end of December 2009, Cardinal Schönborn made what was called a private visit to Medjugorje, where the Virgin Mary has supposedly appeared on a daily basis for over twenty years. The Austrian cardinal's personal secretary said the visit was...
