You just knew this was coming… Conservative Mia Love is running for Congress in Utah. After Mia Love spoke last night at the RNC Convention, her Wikipedia page was hijacked. Someone changed the wording and called Mia Love a wh*re.

With Ann Romney and Chris Christie as the headliners, who would’ve thought that Love would steal the show. No, I don’t mean Ann’s speech, although she did announce right upfront that it was about love. And I don’t mean the Governator’s speech either which was about the relationship between love and respect. I’m talking about MIA LOVE, the mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah of all places! This feisty little lady took Big Guy on by name and said his policies had “failed” and that “no rhetoric, bumper sticker, or Hollywood campaign ad can change that.” Ouch! ... And then we...

TAMPA, Fla.— African-American support for the Republican Party has fallen so far that a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll showed Mitt Romney capturing 0.0% of the black vote. Enter Mia Love, the 36-year-old daughter of Haitian immigrants and a Republican congressional candidate in Utah. Should she win, she would be the first-ever black Republican woman to win a seat in Congress.

“There seems to be a movement on the local and state level,” Scott said, of black Democrats who want “to align with their values” rather than with their history as Democrats. “We’ll continue to see that shift.” Artur Davis, a former Democratic congressman from Alabama, has been a Republican for only a few months. But his speech tonight at the Republican convention is important because he reflects a major theme of Mitt Romney’s campaign against President Obama and another theme promoted by the GOP. The Romney theme is that it’s okay to have changed your mind about Obama. Davis, an...

An article titledUtah Mayor Looking to Become First Black GOP Congresswoman Gives Impassioned Breakout Speech at RNC is where the video of The Honorable Mia Love's Speech at the GOP Convention can be viewed and heard. Here is the speech I heard and transcribed. Praise, in support for Mitt Romney. Let me tell you about the America I know. My parents immigrated to this country with ten dollars in their pocket, and the hope … that the America that they had heard about … really did exist. When tough times came, they didn’t look to Washington, they looked within....

She has been known to display a great deal of ignorance, in particular during the Republican National Convention of 2012, using such points that the Republicans were able to "balance" a budget, when in reality the public knows that as a farce, they simply cut out any sort of benefits for the common person and put in benefits for the super rich, since the super rich is a far smaller amount than the common person. She is also a whore, and hopefully the editor who reverts this hates her as much as I now do.

Allahpundit briefly mentioned this last night, but it’s worth a closer look — as it may be a bellwether of bad news to the Obama White House.  Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT), who faces a tough challenge in November from Republican Mia Love, has announced that he will vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt tomorrow, assuming that the Obama administration can’t cut a deal before the vote in the morning.  He’s the first Democrat to break ranks, but he may not be the last: Rep. Jim Matheson will vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of...

Can Any of These House Underdogs Survive? Stuart Rothenberg June 8, 2012 · 1:48 PM EDT Remember their names: Reps. Charles Bass (R-N.H.), John Barrow (D-Ga.), Bobby Schilling (R-Ill.), Jim Matheson (D-Utah) and Robert Dold (R-Ill.). If any of these five House incumbents survive, it will surprise most dispassionate observers (including some in their own parties). But upsets happen, and each of these candidates has a scenario for victory. Moments after Bass was declared the winner in November 2010, most political insiders figured he would be doomed in 2012. But considering his past electoral success, reports of his political demise...

Amid the crowded field of House candidates across the country in 2012, expect to hear a lot about Mia Love, a Republican who is an African American and a Mormon and who on Saturday defeated a handful of rivals to clinch the party nomination in the campaign for Utah's fourth congressional district. Love is preparing to face incumbent Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson. Victory in November would make her the first black Republican congresswoman in history. A Brooklyn-born Mormon convert, Love is a marathon-running mother of three and the daughter of Haitian immigrants who came to the United States with $10...

Sooner or later, a black Republican woman was bound to run for Congress. It’s just that nobody expected her to hail from Utah. Mia Love won the GOP nomination for the 4th Congressional District race Saturday at the Utah Republican Convention, scoring a major upset after wowing the crowd with a roof-raising speech at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy. The daughter of Haitian immigrants, Mrs. Love took 70.4 percent of the delegate vote, well in excess of the 60 percent required to avoid a primary runoff under Utah’s unique rules. She defeated former state legislator Carl Wimmer, who...

If elected in November, Love would be the first black Republican woman in Congress and Utah's first black representative. She said she would join the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C., should she win. "Yes, yes. I would join the Congressional Black Caucus and try to take that thing apart from the inside out," she said.

If Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love wins her bid for Congress, she will be the first black Republican congresswoman in history. But don’t try to put her in that box. ~snip~ If she does receive significant media attention, Love hopes to use the opportunity to express a conservative message that has too few African American champions. “Any time I’m in front of that camera … I’m going to champion those conservative causes. I’m going to let people out there know that we exist, and that … there are conservative black Americans everywhere that believe in fiscal discipline, limited government and...
