In 71 days, American Airlines will retire its remaining MD-80 aircraft. At one point, the MD-80s, also known as the Super 80 and nicknamed the "Mad Dog," made up more than half of AA's fleet. Cash-strapped Connecticut is grappling with how to pay for transportation investments to prevent more than half of its roads and highways from falling into disrepair in the next decade. False allegations of rape are believed to be more common than many persons realize. These are the findings of four research studies: A review of 556 rape accusations filed against Air Force personnel found that 27% of women later recanted. Then 25 criteria were developed based on the profile of those women, and then submitted to three independent reviewers to review the remaining cases. Council Member Martha Castex-Tatum (District K) offered the amendment, with the full support of Mayor Sylvester Turner, and it would have created an exploratory committee to research the new fee. “This is just an opportunity for us to look for another way to source some additional revenue,” she said as she rolled out the amendment.
