California's secretary of state is backing a push from state lawmakers to make its presidential nominating contest the third in the nation. Legislation offered by Democratic state lawmakers seeks to move California's from June to shortly after Iowa and New Hampshire's presidential primaries. "A state as populous and diverse as California should not be an afterthought. Moving up the California primary in 2020 makes sense and will give California voters a more significant role.

Not every good thing in life needs to be funded by the federal taxpayers. And removing federal subsidies for arts programs will not mean the death of art in America. Yet recipients of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts would have you believe that cutting $719,000 in federal spending on New Hampshire arts programs would crush painting, sculpture and music in the Granite State.

(CNN) – The White House press secretary tried to twist a cap on reporters' questions Tuesday about the Trump team's alleged ties to the Kremlin. "If the President puts Russian salad dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that's a Russia connection," Sean Spicer said. Thing is, Russian dressing isn't Russian. The mayo and ketchup concoction -- often dressed up with horseradish and spices -- was created in Nashua, New Hampshire.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A Republican-backed election law bill is drawing criticism for a provision that says local police might visit people’s homes to verify they are legally eligible to vote. “This is a very hard thing for the League of Women Voters to watch, an attempt to change voting laws based on unsubstantiated claims and fears of widespread voter fraud,” Liz Tentarelli, president of the league’s New Hampshire chapter, testified Tuesday during a public hearing on the Senate bill. The bill aims to put stricter scrutiny on people who register to vote on Election Day or within 30 days...

The mostly swamp media (MSM) are so good at gaslighting many people lose sight of the big picture. There is not a day that goes by so far this year when CTH doesn’t look back at the calendar and say: “Wow, a year ago today”…. and start the day with a big grin. A year ago today the New Hampshire Primary was about to take place. A year ago today we had not yet had a primary win… A year ago today it was a campaign against all odds. Today, slightly less than a year later, we have President Donald...

A daughter and granddaughter of slain black nationalist Malcolm X have been charged with stealing a rental truck that was found in southern Maryland carrying seven pit bulls in what police described Friday as inhumane conditions. Malikah Saban Shabazz, 51, of Berlin, New Hampshire, and her daughter Bettih Bahiyah Shabazz, 19, of Stark, New Hampshire, were released in Charles County on Thursday after posting bond of $2,000 each, according to online court records. The records do not list defense attorneys, and calls to the women’s possible telephone numbers were either not answered or not returned. The women were arrested Wednesday...

CONCORD — A proposal to change state law regarding evidence in sexual assault cases amounts to “nothing more than a pedophile protection act and rapist shield law,” according to Concord Police Detective Sean Ford. But the sponsor of House Bill 106, Rep. William Marsh, R-Wolfeboro, says no one should be charged, let alone convicted, solely on the basis of an alleged victim’s testimony with no other corroboration. The two men took turns at the witness table on Tuesday, as the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee heard nearly four hours of testimony on a bill that would require the...

New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan appeared to be unaware during a Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday that a Washington Post story about Russian hacking into the Vermont power grid has been completely debunked and retracted. “Two weeks ago The Washington Post reported that a hacking group connected with the Russian government managed to infiltrate the Burlington Electric power company in Vermont,” Hassan said to retired Marine Gen. John Kelley during his confirmation hearing to head the Department of Homeland Security. Hassan, who took office this month after serving as governor of New Hampshire, showed no indication during the questioning that...

Perhaps New Hampshire should change its license plates to read: “The Too Little Too Late State.” It was declared on Monday that Hillary Clinton had won New Hampshire, just six days after losing the White House to Donald Trump. Clinton’s win means that there is only one state — Michigan — that has yet to declare for either candidate. It appears Trump holds a slight advantage in Michigan but the votes remain too close to call. In winning New Hampshire Clinton also picked up its 4 electoral college votes, bringer her total up to 232 and making Donald Trump still...

Am I looking at old data here? I'd been hearing Trump 306 pretty regularly, but not seeing that around the web. Seems everybody that I look at have him at 290. Also, the popular vote. Today, I've started to see posts on Facebook claiming DJT also won with popular vote. Now, yeah, could be erroneous, but I just wanted to ask if 1.) there is anything to this popular vote win claim? 2.) Where is a reliable place to find the 2016 Presidential Election Final results?

BOSCAWEN — U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, said Friday she is still “regrouping” after her election defeat Tuesday to Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan, but she did not rule out playing a role in the Trump administration. Rumors circulated nationally Friday morning that Ayotte could be tapped for a position in the new administration, despite her break from statements during her Senate campaign that were seen as supporting Trump.

After a 31-point blowout at the KFC Yum! Center, Rick Pitino's postgame press conference drifted from the usual Xs and Os. . . .Everybody in this room has problems with him. And I think the only way to remedy a problem is to find a solution. The first thing I said in the show is ... call up John McCain, apologize and then publicly apologize. Because that has upset me since day one. That man was five years in solitary confinement and was beaten. He's a hero to all of us, and he needs to be apologized to first ......

The Trump team has added a name to its list of potential candidates for secretary of defense — outgoing Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), according to two sources familiar with the ongoing discussions. If chosen, Ayotte would stand out in a Trump administration as a neoconservative defense hawk and one of the few women in the incoming Trump Cabinet. No decisions have been made and the current list for possible defense secretary picks still centers around retired Army Lt. Gen. Joseph “Keith” Kellogg, former Defense Intelligence Agency director Gen. Mike Flynn and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.). Flynn would need a congressional...

Outgoing Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., is at the top of President-elect Trump's list for secretary of defense, according to a Washington Post report published Friday evening. Other candidates up for the Pentagon chief slot are retired Army Lt. Gen. Joseph "Keith" Kellogg, former Defense Intelligence Agency director Gen. Mike Flynn and Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions. snip.... Sources said Ayotte's neoconservative background would help her serve as a liaison between the GOP establishment in Congress and Trump administration. She would also be the first woman to oversee the Defense Department.
