My impression from reading campaign coverage is that Romney's were upbeat and positive, whereas Obama hammered Romney at every turn. What was your experience?

Based on the dismal state of the union and after four years of doing exactly what Rush Limbaugh said he hoped that he would do, by any thinking person's standards President Barack Obama has indeed "failed." Yet, despite the catastrophe, on Election Day the American people inexplicably invited the President to spend the next four years beating the dead horse that he killed during his first term. Barack Obama may have won the election, but it is a victory devoid of triumph. Obama ran a lackluster election campaign, one distinguished more by harsh attacks on his opponent Mitt Romney than by pride in his own accomplishments. Just how narrow the victory was can be seen in the popular vote count. Mitt Romney wasn't a bad candidate. He ran a fairly strong race. He made a few errors. And he made many good moves. Certainly he was adequate. And he was probably the strongest Republican candidate among the primary field of contenders. That is, he was the best man available to run against Barack Obama. And he did a pretty good job. Obama on the other hand, was a horrible candidate. He was mean and vindictive. He was contemptuous and superficial. I am sure you’ll get a kick out of this. There is a big push around here to get us to contribute to United Way… their annual coercion to make us ‘give’. Let me see if I get this right: Americans just elected a guy whose party has ALWAYS screamed: ‘The government can spend your money better then you can, get more out of your money than you can, provide more efficiently for the needy and disabled, assure that EVERYONE gets his/her fair share, etc…. and on and on’!!! (Putting on my flak jacket). Let me say that I'm no fan of Romney's politics, but the guy ran a decent campaign, and he appeals to swing voters in a way that Santorum and Palin cannot. And let's face it - what's he going to do with the rest of his life? If there's one thing he's got, it's time and money. He can learn from his mistakes, just as Nixon learned from his, and perhaps lead the GOP to victory in 2016.

Hey, fellow Freepers. I have to be honest. I am very disappointed and downbeat that Romney did not get elected, and I won't be a sore loser. We should just be better prepared for the war in 2014, and especially for 2016. However, I trolled on Huffington Post and Bill Maher's Facebook page, and to be truthful, I have never seen so many SORE WINNERS as the Obama people...you should be euphoric and jubilant! There are three main factors how we lost election: 1.Voter frauds which were committed everywhere in inner cities such as Cleveland, Miami, Las Vegas, Philly, etc. 2.Only about 45% Republican base turnout, especially religious Evangelicals, they could not bring themselves to vote for a Mormon. It just occured to me, all those dead voters need to eat too, I mean if you are dead and you just spent a long election season voting several times for your favorite democrat president, the food stamp president and you get bupkiss for your your vote, well nuts to that, why not sign your corpse-y self up for some government cheese?
