A team of scientists from NASA used the old Voyager 2 data and found some interesting information about Uranus. Uranus had blasted a gas bubble of enormous size, it was nearly 22,000 times bigger than Earth. A detailed research report was published on NASA website recently. It was also published in the geophysical research Letters on 9th August 2019. Giba DiBraccio and Daniel Gershman, the two scientists who made this discovery on Uranus. found the data from the age-old data archive of NASA....Scientists have not explored Uranus with any probes till now. Therefore, DiBraccio and Gershman used the archived data...

I had a discussion today with a friend in the medical field. He claims some of his associates suspect COVID-19 can be spread by an infected person passing gas. He said if you're wearing a face mask and you can smell the offending odor, there is a good possibility you could become infected by these microscopic invisible gas particles. He said they're trying to develop a mask for your ass, such as some type of special adult diaper that's been treated to absorb gas and can be worn over or under existing clothing.
  • How a Fart Killed 10,000 People

Farting, breaking wind, cutting the cheese, or gas. The English language has numerous words for flatulence and this is even before we devolve into the subcategories that make up the genre. Whatever you call it, farting is a taboo act, but it is also a source of fascination. It’s not for nothing that there is a popular children’s book series called Fart Squad or that the preview of the most recent installment of the Alvin and the Chipmunks dynasty led with the punchline, “Sorry, pizza toots.” Today farting is something for which we perfunctorily ask forgiveness, but in the past...
  • Marines ban farting to avoid offending Muslims

There are so many weird aspects of this story. Don't these Marines have mothers, or someone in their lives who told them as children that audible passing of gas was offensive? And the high command has to tell them to cut it out because it offends Afghans, as if such a reaction were different from that of any normal person? And unfortunately, the friendly-fire jihad attacks by Afghans that regularly punctuate the working relationship between U.S. and Afghan troops are not going to be ended by this small gesture in "trust building." "For Marines in Afghanistan: be careful where you...
  • Does suppressing the urge to toot endanger one's health?

Dear Cecil: My mother has always told me that the real way to spell relief is f-a-r-t. I have always been a person closely attuned to what is truly natural in myself and others and would appreciate an answer to a problem that has haunted me since childhood. If gas pains are caused by intestinal gas, then how come I never feel better when I fart? All I ever feel is embarrassed. — Lauran P., Washington, D.C.

HOWDY FREEPERS!!!!!!!I wanted to take just a brief moment to talk about a disscusion with evolved on a state newpaper's message board from a letter to the editor that I wrote the other day regarding the elctions. The discussion focused on the selection of judges and how the Supreme Court works. This is something that has been discussed numerous times. Probably one of the main points is that a judges job is to interpet the Constitution, not legislate from the bunch. There were some in the discussion that got it and some that didn't. The focus was on the idea of replacing the...
  • Marine Methane Heats Things Up

Oil seeping from the seafloor may have contributed to climate change long before the internal combustion engine did. The petroleum deposits are rich in the powerful greenhouse gas methane, which, according to a new study, may have played a major role in two previous episodes of global warming. Bedrock below the ocean bottom keeps a lid on oil reservoirs, but it's not an impermeable cap. Small cracks allow petroleum and methane to bubble to the surface. Once there, the petroleum oxidizes and turns to tar, which sinks. Meanwhile, the methane drifts into the atmosphere, where it makes up about 15%...

Yaa, you repukes are not doing so well, huh? Imagine, you repukes control the presidency, both houses of Congress, and appointed 7 of the 9 Supreme Court justices. Yet the Supreme Court thre out sodomy laws in all 50 states and recognized the right of government to seize land for any reason. And you couldn't pass your Social Security changes could you? Sorry, that was your last shot. Come November, we're going to start seeing more Democratic faces in the House. It's the end for you guys. You guys are celebrating when Bush's numbers go *up* to 45%. Then Faux...
  • The Passing of Yassir Arafat

The news of the death of Yassir Arafat has struck the intellectual world – already reeling from the brutal assault of the Bush presidency - like a hammer. Our reporters contacted several top spokespersons of the American aristocracy to get their reactions: "Arafat’s passing is a great loss for us. As you know, human beings are the greatest threat to this planet’s continued survival, and Arafat worked hard to rid the planet of that threat. At least, he was working hard on eradicating the people whom he had chosen for his ‘Special Project.’ With Osama temporarily out of commission, Arafat...

A Brooklyn elementary schoolteacher was removed from class and arrested on assault charges yesterday after a 10-year-old student with Down syndrome complained she doused him with air freshener when he passed gas. Jane Fasone, 58, a veteran teacher at Public School 72 in East New York, is accused of spraying the boy's buttocks and mouth and making him stand against a wall, sources said. "It's hard to believe she would do something like that," said Phyllis Esposito, 55, Fasone's neighbor in Marine Park. Esposito said Fasone, the married mother of two adult sons, has taught disabled children for years. "She's...
