Norma Shearer (121st birthday today on august 11, tomorrow, American time) said "A woman today is good, or she is bad, according to the way she does a thing - and not because of the thing itself." And “The morals of yesterday are no more. They are as dead as the day they were lived. Economic independence has put woman on exactly the same footing as man.” This is easy to disapprove of. And to be drawn to. Freedom works. Morality? Whose?

Lady Godiva and her hubby, Leofric, the Earl Of Mercia were both generous to Christian religious houses. He established a Benedictine monastery in Coventry. She gave gold and silver jewelry to monasteries. One necklace was hung on the neck of the Virgin Mary. The first known Rosary-like string of prayer beads was made by her. That's history. Different times. According to legend, LG was deeply troubled by oppressive taxation of the people by her husband and entreated him again and again to lower taxes but he refused. However she persisted and eventually he gave in on the condition that she...

Poet Emma Lazarus was born on July 22nd, 1849 in New York City. She is most famous for the words: “Give me your tired, your poor,/ Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,/ The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me ....." She also had some great thoughts about the dangers of anti patriotic crap: "“Let our first care today be the re-establishment of our physical strength, the reconstruction of our national organism, so that in future, where the respect due to us cannot be won by entreaty, it may be commanded, and where...

Livin’ la vida Biden! The Biden Administration has got a line on you! Unfortunately that line is choking America’s middle class and low wages workers with inflation and rising interest rates. Auto loan rates are now up to 7.65%, a gut-wrenching 166% increase under Bidenomics. Average monthly payments also reached a new record of $733. That compares with $730 in the first quarter and $678 in the second quarter of 2022. Buyers were financed with an average APR of around 7.1%, the highest since the fourth quarter of 2007. 2 out of every 3 consumers who agreed to a $1,000+...

July 4th, America's Independence Day, is also film and television star Eva Gabor's birthday and the date of the first publication of Leaves Of Grass in 1855. That seminal work was a part of the cultural birth of the USA: ""What is known I strip away, I launch all men and women forward with me into the Unknown. .............. Births have brought us richness and variety, And other births will bring us richness and variety." " ....... after the child is born of woman, man is born of woman, This the bath of birth, this the merge of small and...

Mounted on a working horse, fully decked in digger gear of tunic and slouch hat, Tanya Lightowler proudly guards the ancient Aussie spirit, calling us to care for our equine mountain heritage. ......... documents of the secretive Andrews government stated, about their plans to eradicate the wild horses made famous in the Man From Snowy River: " ....... all shooting operations are to be discussed on a need-to-know basis, because of a “significant risk posed by feral horse activists”. " I see Tanya Lightowler as a peaceful protestor and national hero not a risky "feral horse activist." Daniel Andrews secrecy...

On June 2nd, 1989, 100,000 people went to Tienanmen Square. One reason for the crowd was a statue called the Goddess Of Democracy. Its pose was modeled on the Statue Of Liberty but its face was Chinese. Democracy can be a babe. Do we understand her? Walt Whitman was elegant in writing of democracy and religion: “Even in religious fervor there is a touch of animal heat. But moral conscientiousness, crystalline, without flaw, not Godlike only, entirely human, awes and enchants forever. Great is emotional love, even in the order of the rational universe.” “In the faces of men and...

Walt Whitman was born on this date in West Hills, New York, in 1819, 204 years ago. Few can touch him for the greatness he achieved in his use of the English language. Wikipedia states: "Art historian Mary Berenson says, "You cannot really understand America without Walt Whitman, without Leaves of Grass ..... He has expressed that civilization, 'up to date,' as he would say, and no student of the philosophy of history can do without him." " Here are some of Whitman's own words which I believe justify Berenson's assessment. “I too am not a bit tamed, I too...

I am a libertarian. To me, freedom looks like the essential glue or fabric for society. Freedom needs discipline. I speculate that my poet’s etymological analysis of the word “freedom” can give us both freedom and discipline in the one word. To do this, I first suggest that the roots of the word “freedom” can lead us to call it the home or homes where we can feel free. For me today, the word "freedom" combines the adjective "free" with the Latin word "domus" or home to mean a home or homes where someone can feel free. This is an...

I believe we must not forget that: "Men, women and children need to live with love; this is an indispensable foundation of human society." Today, the 14th of May, is now Mother’s Day in Australia and the 54th birthday of mother-of-four, and dual Oscar winning Australian born actress Cate Blanchett. Here are some of her thoughts on being a mum: “Children are spirited, passionate, political, demanding. They are also heartbreaking. They constantly extend parents and so parents are constantly confronted with their failures, don’t you think? I’d rather presently live life this way than not.” “My husband and I worry...

I arrived in Hollywood without having my nose fixed, my teeth capped or my name changed. That is very gratifying to me. ,,,,,,,,,, I don't want everything to add up to some perfect equation. .......... I want to feel passion and heat and sweat and madness..........

Hand to mouth should be Biden’s Presidential re-election theme song. 70% Of Americans Are Financially Stressed, 58% Live Paycheck-To-Paycheck because America is living off their credit cards living a life they can’t actually afford as credit card debt keeps hitting record highs approaching $1 TRILLION! Of course, what is really troubling is that credit card useage is soaring as The Fed hikes interest rates to combat inflation … caused by Janet Yellen and The Fed keeping rates near zero for too long under Obama. Then we have Biden fighting fossil fuels and Congress spending like drunken sailors in port. All...

Cry for Argentina! Their central bank boosted its benchmark Leliq rate by 300 basis points to 78%. The monetary authority’s board considered the increase in response to accelerating inflation and after leaving the key rate unchanged for several months. Of course, the US Federal Reserve is going in the opposite direction to combat the US banking crisis created by inflation and Yellen’s “Too low for too long” Fed policies. I am beginning to wonder in Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot are the same person.

Today is the Ides Of March. Julius Caesar was assassinated on this day in 44 BC. In 1950 Charlton Heston gave a brilliant performance as Marc Antony in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. If Brutus was an honourable man, then so is Joe Biden in his ice cream dreams. Some poeticised thoughts from Heston on freedom follow .....

On this day, 1865, the thirteenth amendment abolished slavery. Are we free now? Our spirits or our lives? Annika looks like she is. (Click the red link below the title if you wonder why you cannot see her here.)

Its a sign of the times! First, US default risk as measured by credit default swaps remains elevated (primarily because Biden and Democrats refused to cut wasteful spending or reign in non-retirees on Social Security). And NY Fed’s Reverse Repos remain elevated. And then we have Citi’s economic surprise index for the US at -17 as The Fed slows money growth to 0%. I wish I knew a place where inflation and insane Federal government spending and policies doesn’t exist. Joe Biden was in California and had a secret meeting with Nancy Pelosi’s nephew Gavin Newsome. Is Joe replacing Kamala...

I watched Biden’s Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre giving Biden credit for the lowest unemployment rate in US history thanks to his economic policies. And Biden mentioned that he inherited a terrible economy from Trump. Hmmm. Let’s let the data talk. Covid was horrific (I almost died from it), but it was the government response to Covid there was disastorous. Government shutdowns (and the masking of the populace) killed off numerous small businesses and sent jobless claims soaring in 2020 (white line) and U-3 unemployment rate rose to the highest level since The Great Depression. The response from The Federal...

Medical Doctors for Covid Ethics International (MD4CE International) is grateful to His Excellency, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, for speaking to us and sharing his thoughts on the current global crisis, which began with the fraudulent concocted Covid-19 pandemic emergency, supported by and maintained by an evil military grade psychological operation, complete with the unashamed use of fear and shame propaganda, which was unleashed in a coordinated manner on the unsuspecting people of the entire world by their own governments in early 2020, with predictably cataclysmic results.
