“Who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God.” (I Peter 2:10) Paul wrote, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ; even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before Him in love: having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself…” (Eph. 1:3–5). The choosing took place before the creation for the obvious purpose of having an unblemished people in...

“Know you therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.” God made a promise to Abraham: “In thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed” (Gen.12:3). Later he repeated the promise, “because you have obeyed my voice” (Gen. 22:18). What of this promise? Was it fulfilled? Or is it yet to be realized in some material sense? Gross confusion prevails. The tragic result is that Christians look for a fulfillment which will not come, because they look for the wrong kind of promise. People keep getting this original promise to Abraham mixed...

The BP oil spill is undeniably turning into President Obama's very own Hurricane Katrina. The big difference here is that many Katrina victims, largely dependent on the government welfare system to begin with, sat by and waited as the government failed to act. However, the victims of this tragedy, instead of hopelessly awaiting for the government to act, have taken it upon themselves to try and clean this mess up.

This week mark's Obama's 16th month in office and despite his solemn pledge, we STILL have combat troops in Iraq!Question: Is there ONE campaign promise Obama has kept? One of the central pillars of his presidential campaign was a solemn vow to end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home. Obama may have hedged all over the place on exactly how he would make the withdrawal, but all during the campaign he repeatedly insisted he would bring U.S. combat troops home within 16 months after taking office.Well, this week marked Obama's 16th month in office and U.S. combat...

"... Obama's self-imposed deadline to have all troops out of Iraq within 16-months expires next week. It's not going to happen of course. Another broken promise. In fact, he won't have all of the troops out of Iraq when he leaves office. That was just a lie to win the election. QUESTIONS: How much news coverage will be devoted next Thursday to Obama's deadline and broken promise? Will there be a great deal of coverage? Will there be protests in the streets by the anti-war demonstrators? Will anyone dare to come to our site, as Mark Levin did, to figure...

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its monthly jobs report early May 7 announcing a rise in unemployment to 9.9 percent and an increase of 290,000 jobs. Any positive job growth is good news to be sure. But in order for Obama to meet his pledge of 4 million jobs created by the end of 2010, the U.S. economy would have to add 932,000 jobs each and every month between now and the end of the year, taking into account both temporary jobs and the number of new positions needed to keep even with population growth. According to the...

In the three decades since the death penalty was reinstated, 86 condemned inmates have died in California. Thirteen were executions. Death-row prisoners are far more likely to succumb to natural causes. That’s what claimed 50 of them. Suicide is more common, too. There’s disagreement about whether it’s good or bad that so few have been executed. Death-penalty advocates say it’s “justice delayed, justice denied,” especially when victims’ relatives die before the killers. Opponents say delays leave time for evidence to be found to exonerate the innocent. Still, almost no one disputes the conclusion of a state commission two years ago...

ATLANTA (AP) -- President Barack Obama is promising parents and their kids that with his administration's help they will have better teachers in improved schools so U.S. students can make up for academic ground lost against youngsters in other countries. A plan to overhaul the 2002 education law championed by President George W. Bush was unveiled by the Obama administration Saturday in hopes of replacing a system that in the last decade has tagged more than a third of schools as failing and created a hodgepodge of sometimes weak academic standards among states. "Unless we take action — unless we...

Obama repeatedly looked the American people in the eye and promised them that these health care negotiations would be televised live on CSPAN so we could all see who was arguing on behalf of the special interests. But once voters started noticing what a corrupt, deficit-exploding assault on the free market this was and turning against it in droves, Democrats reneged. Now, contrary to everything we were told, this illegal trillion-dollar government takeover--which will impose staggering tax hikes in the middle of a severe recession--is being negotiated through blackmail and kickbacks in smoke-filled rooms...

Even according to Politifact (one of the most liberal "fact-checkers" in existence), Obama has already broken nine separate campaign promises since taking office less than a year ago. He has also "compromised" on 18 others. But if the "post-partisan" candidate for "change" signs this blatantly illegal, trillion-dollar health care takeover into law, he will be blatantly violating not just another campaign promise, but the one he built his entire candidacy on in 2008. Responding to allegations that he fully intended to raise taxes on regular working people, he said the following on the campaign trail: I can make a firm...

Democrats promise jobs billBy ANDREW TAYLOR (AP) – 40 minutes ago WASHINGTON — House Democrats are looking at swelling deficits further, at least temporarily, on a jobs-producing bill in response to double-digit unemployment and a sense within their ranks that the party needs to do more to put people back to work. But many of the ideas on the table so far are extensions of last February's $787 billion economic stimulus package — such as unemployment benefits and subsidies to help the jobless pay for health insurance. They maintain the social safety net for the 15.7 million Americans out of...

An Iraqi tile-maker puts the finishing touches on a piece of tile at a factory in Boob al-Sham, July 30. Photo by Staff Sgt. Mark Burrell, Multi-National Division - Baghdad. BAGHDAD — In an open-air factory on the outskirts of northeast Baghdad, Iraqi workers diligently polish mosaic tiles with buffers, spraying water in circular, cascading waves. An Iraqi teenager sweeps the water toward a drainage ditch with a determined look on his face as the workers' machines drone on noisily. The owner of the factory, a distinguished Iraqi man with salt and pepper hair, strides toward the wrought iron gate...

...Obama and his administration told Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during a meeting last week the U.S. foresees the creation of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, according to a top PA official... "The American administration was very friendly to the position of the PA," said Nimer Hamad, Abbas'... "..(Abbas) heard from Obama and his administration in a very categorical way that a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital is in the American national and security interest," ... ...Obama informed Abbas he would not let Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "get in the way" of normalizing U.S. relations...

It seemed among the easiest of his transparency pledges and is entirely under his control, but President Obama is finagling his promise to post bills on the White House Web site for comment for five days before he signs them. Mr. Obama last week signed four bills, each just a day or two after Congress passed and sent it over to him.

We never really believed it anyway. Remember Senator Obama, he who voted with the Democrats 97% of the time, likely the most partisan member of the Senate during his short stay in office (at least when he did make it to chamber for a vote)? On the flip side, remember Candidate Obama who promised to reach across the aisle and work with Republicans in the House and Senate to come to agreements that are sensible for all Americans? He called it bipartisanship.

(IsraelNN.com) Kadima Party leader Tzipi Livni, who is to inform President Shimon Peres today that she failed at forming a new government, admits it's because she refused a Shas demand to promise to keep all of Jerusalem. Livni was able to reach a coalition agreement with Labor, but the Shas Party informed her late last week that it would be unable to join her government. Without Shas, Livni cannot form a government with a comfortable Knesset majority. Shas says that Livni refused to meet its demands: Increased montly child allowance payments for large and medium-sized families, and a promise to...

What exactly is "America's promise", according to Obama? I kept waiting for him to define it and all I kept hearing was America's promise is what makes us Americans and it's why people want to come here, etc. Then I thought, does he think America promises everyone a wonderful life and future? I mean, we offer opportunities for a wonderful future if you want to work hard, but we don't promise it. What is it? Did I miss something?
