Mitt Romney's recent triumphal tour of Britain, Israel, and Poland struck me as a much-needed and most welcome apology tour for Barack Obama's abject abandonment and humiliation of our most loyal and trusted allies. Finally, here is an apology tour that Americans can get behind. It was a triumph. The enemedia says otherwise, of course. Mitt Romney began the long overdue, overwhelming task of beginning to rebuild allied relationships with longtime friends who were abandoned and betrayed by a reckless, feckless, subversive president.

Dick Morris: ‘Clinton is going to cast his ballot for Mitt Romney’By Jeff Poor Published: 1:44 PM 07/31/2012 On Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” on Monday night, Dick Morris predicted that his old boss, former President Bill Clinton, will work behind the scenes to undermine President Barack Obama’s reelection bid. There has been a well-documented history of tension between Obama and Clinton going back to the sometimes racially charged 2008 Democratic primary. And according to Morris, the author of “Screwed!”, the two men’s relationship remains strained to this day.

As the use of smart phones grows across the nation, both President Obama and Mitt Romney are seeking to leverage the technology with new campaign apps. The Romney campaign on Tuesday launched a free app called "Mitt's VP," which will allow users to learn who Romney has chosen to serve as his running mate as soon as it's announced. "There's no telling when Mitt will choose his VP. But when he does, be the first to find out with Mitt's VP app," the campaign teased on its website. The app, available on iPhone and Android platforms, will give users immediate...

This is going to shock the hell out of some IRS auditors I know. VIDEO This is funny, except when you consider that the point Reid is trying to make is (I think) that you can avoid paying taxes if you stop making money. Meaning that if you quit your job and become dependent on government subsidies and entitlements you can stop paying taxes. Which is true, I guess, but not exactly in keeping with the principles of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” that this country was founded upon.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he heard from a Bain investor who heard that Mitt Romney paid exactly zero taxes for 10 years, Reid tells The Huffington Post's Sam Stein and Ryan Grim. . Reid said Romney's dead father would be "so embarrassed" by his son. Then he recounted how a Bain Capital investor called him a month ago and said, "Harry, he didn't pay any taxes for 10 years." Acknowledging that's awfully slim evidence, Reid offers this massive asterisk: "He didn't pay taxes for 10 years! Now, do I know that that's true? Well, I'm not certain… But...

ALEPPO, Syria and BEIRUT, Lebanon | As evidence mounts that foreign Islamists are fighting alongside Syria's increasingly radicalized rebels, Christians in Aleppo and elsewhere are taking up arms, often supplied by the regime. "We saw what happened to the Christians in Iraq," Abu George, a Christian resident of Aleppo's Aziza district told GlobalPost. "What is going on in Aleppo is not a popular revolution for democracy and freedom. The fighters of the so-called Free Syrian Army are radical Sunnis who want to establish an Islamic state." While the 30-year-old shopkeeper said he had not received any direct threats from Syria's...

For seven years, the people of London has been preparing for the Olympics. The city has been scrubbed clean and new facilities were constructed for the big event. City leaders have been very proud of the massive effort that it took to stage the Olympics. Unfortunately, there have been a number of real problems such as a lack of security personnel and hundreds of empty seats at numerous events. The embarrassing footage has forced organizers to fill in seats with members of the British military.

Election 2012: Lech Walesa, the Polish patriot and former president of Poland, and another ally our president has betrayed, endorses the GOP candidate's quest to restore U.S. leadership in the struggle against the world's despots. Walesa knows a thing or too about resisting and defeating collectivist tyranny, and he has no tolerance for those such as President Obama who appease and apologize to it. Unlike Obama, he earned his Nobel Peace Prize by leading the Solidarity movement that brought freedom to a Poland that suffered for decades under the Nazi jackboot, then as part of the Soviet gulag. In May,...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: So a bunch of reporters start shouting questions at Mitt Romney in Poland. We have the audio this coming up in due course. A bunch of reporters start shouting at Romney. He's very, very close to their Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. And one of Romney's press people starts shouting at the reporters. (imitation) "Shut up! This is a holy site for the Polish people. Kiss my butt." He told the reporters to shove it. So now they're all over this guy. He eventually called and apologized. Now, it wasn't long ago that this guy, Neil Munro,...

Sounds solid. Mitt Romney, who's been running for political office for 20 years now, decided he'd gamble those prospects and risk time in a federal pen for tax evasion in order to save a few million dollars that he doesn't need. And he made this decision year after year, for 10 years.By the way, some random guy on the Internet told me Obama was born in Kenya. Now, do I know that's true? Well, I'm not certain. But let me just toss it out there. "His poor father must be so embarrassed about his son," Reid said, in reference to George...

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's re-election effort is paying close attention to two candidates mounting third-party campaigns for the presidency, believing they could draw votes from Republican rival Mitt Romney and help Obama win a few tightly contested states. One candidate is Virgil Goode, a former conservative Virginia congressman who is running as a member of the Constitution Party. The other is Gary Johnson, a former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico who is the Libertarian Party's presidential nominee. Obama's team has scenarios whereby Obama can win states like Virginia and Colorado with less than 50 percent of the...

I’m getting sick of the rewriting of 2008 presidential campaign history as K Street Republicans continue to assault Sarah Palin in the fear that a similarly conservative Republican will rise to the top of the VP sweepstakes. It has been so fashionable in D.C. Republican circles to bash the Palin nomination as a mistake, ill-conceived or even disastrous, that even Dick Chaney has gotten into the act. These self-serving attempts to change history are nothing more than a smear campaign designed to influence the Romney VP pick by obscuring the truth that the choice of Sarah Palin to...

Just got off the phone a couple of minutes ago. Phone # that called for survey: 904-274-0422, from Jacksonvilee, FL. First survey question: If election were held today, would you say you would be voting for Obama or Romney. Press 1 for Obama, 2 for Romney. Well, I pressed 2 for Romney. There was a pause, and I thought that perhaps my answer hadn't taken, so, I pressed 2 again. After a brief pause, the survey (apparently an automated poll service), shot back with: Would you say that, your support for Obama is strong (not exactly those words, or not...

I got into writing and thinking about politics because I was told there would be no math. Boy, was I misled. It’s not just the torrent of polls that we have to deal with, but the numbers that supposedly forecast Presidential elections with uncanny accuracy. Depending on whom you turn to, the key lies in second quarter real GDP growth, the optimism or pessimism of the electorate, individual or family real income growth or a dizzying mix of these and other measurements. They’re usually economic, although one prognosticator—Allan Lichtman, history professor at American University—uses broader measurements, asking whether the incumbent...

Romney thanks Poles for their courage to fight for freedom Peter Gentle 31.07.2012 Republican candidate in the US presidential elections, Mitt Romney has thanked Poles for their “courage” in joining the “fight for freedom” in Afghanistan and Iraq, on the second day of his trip to Poland. I am pumped up about Mitt Romney's speech in Israel -- for both political reasons and policy ones -- and believe it may represent a turning point in the campaign. Politically -- and this is important because it is critical that he win, or he won't be able to implement any policies and set America back on the road to recovery -- Romney has shown again he is going to take the gloves off, deal with the issues directly and draw a stark contrast between his policies and Obama's record. The significance of this cannot be overstated. Some of the...

The latest web ad from Barack Obama's campaign goes after Mitt Romney for not releasing more tax returns than he already has. The ad, titled "Mitt Romney's Tax Returns: When Will He Come Clean?," at one point flashes two words onscreen, "FELONS" and "TAX RECORDS." The words, "FELONS" and "TAX RECORDS," are displayed onscreen for at least six seconds, so the Obama campaign wants to make sure its viewers see the words.
