U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, whom every presidential candidate would love to have as a running mate, sounds a lot like a Rick Perry supporter when it comes to the issue of tuition help for immigrants who grew up in the United States long after they were brought here illegally. [snip] "I think there’s general consensus behind the idea that we need to do something to help out kids who were brought here by our parents longtime ago and who have grown up in this country," Rubio said a few weeks ago, echoing comments and sentiments he made on the campaign...

The critical issue for the 2012 election is whether or not a government of the people, by the people and for the people, shall perish from the earth. The US Government has been hijacked by a self-serving, permanent political class, which considers itself above the law and elections as bothersome formalities temporarily interrupting their plundering of the nation’s wealth. Having become comfortable with ignoring the will of the people, American politicians have created a culture of corruption in Washington, D.C., while they steadily whittle away at the Constitution to remove any remaining obstacles in their pursuit of personal power and...

The battle for the Republican presidential nomination is just heating up. But the choice of running mate is as good as settled, at least if the Beltway buzz is to be believed. Many party insiders feel that the attractions of Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) for the second spot on the ticket are irresistible. “Right now, he is head and shouders above everybody else,” Florida-based GOP strategist Rick Wilson told The Hill. (Wilson supported Rubio during his 2010 Senate bid, but did not work for the campaign.) Garlands have been hurled Rubio’s way with conspicuous frequency in the past few weeks.

Speaking On The Record with Greta Van Susteren last night, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio sounded none-too-pleased with the prospect of President Obama‘s American Jobs Act. “Really, the only job it’s designed to protect is his, and that’s why he’s put it out,” he surmised. According to the freshman senator, the plan is more a political move than a serious effort to create jobs. ”What the president is saying he wants to do to help create jobs in America is not going to work,” he said. As Rubio sees it, Obama’s plan goes about things mostly wrong:

As the Republican primary enters a heated new stretch, Texas Gov. Rick Perry remains a heavy favorite over Mitt Romney. The outsider Perry's quick rise has unsettled numerous establishment Republicans who worry about Perry's electability. In no state are these fears more important than in Florida, which one top Republican strategist recently opined would determine the party nominee and is a state Romney must capture. Romney covets the support of Florida's two biggest GOP heavyweights, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, both of whom are inclined to back him, but neither is likely to formally endorse. Bush's view of the contest...

Three hours ago over 200 eager supporters where at the Marriot Hotel in Key Largo to great America's great conservative hope Marco Rubio. Entering the doorway first of the panoramic third floor of the Marriot overlooking Fla. Bay with a huge thunderstorm in process was our House of Rep. lady Ileana ros Lehtinen. She stood in the doorway and posed for photos. I got to greet her as she entered and soon sheer pandemoneum erupted as Sen. Marco Rubio entered the doorway. Before he could get into the room he met and greeted dozens of well wishers, posed for photos...

Florida’s young Republican Senator Marco Rubio gave an important speech at the Reagan Presidential Library in California that has set off the liberal talking head universe. He had the temerity to suggest that the huge growth in government’s role in American life over the last century “actually weakened us as a people.” The resulting onslaught from liberal blogs and cable hosts comes as no surprise because Rubio directly took on the idol at which liberals worship – Big Government. But his analysis was courageous and profound. Eighty percent of Americans are not happy with the direction of the country. And,...

Carrying signs that read "Heal America Tax Wall Street," nurses union members rallied in front of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio's downtown Orlando office Wednesday to solicit support for a tax on Wall Street that would help fund projects on Main Street. About 30 protestors wearing red shirts gathered on the sidewalk, carrying signs and chanting, "Human need not corporate greed." Ultimately, a small delegation gained access to the senator's office, where they met in the conference room with State Director Todd Reid about their complaints. The Orlando protest was one of 61 such rallies held in front of legislators' offices...

The talking heads on Fox News Special Report this Friday concurred that Marco Rubio will be on the Republican ticket next year as the vice presidential nominee... There is virtually no downside to Rubio and the advantages to the ticket are prohibitive. He is youthful, attractive, and articulate. Rubio won a tough three-way race in Florida last year. His life story is compelling as the child of Cuban parents who worked up the hard and legal way. His conservatism on social and economic issues is unwavering. Rubio is slightly too young and inexperienced to run as president, but eight years...

On Thursday's The Ed Show, Ed Schultz warned all the senior citizens in his audience to not be charmed by Republican Senator Marco Rubio saving Nancy Reagan from a fall because, according to Schultz, the policies of the "pretty boy" will be "downright ugly." Teasing his Psycho Talk segment, Schultz told viewers that even though Rubio "got some good press this week for saving Nancy Reagan from a fall" to be wary of him because "when it comes to the rest of the American senior citizens, Rubio wants to leave them high and dry." The following is a complete transcript...

I saw him Tuesday night. I saw Senator Marco Rubio in person as he delivered a speech at the Ronald Reagan Library outside of Los Angeles. I saw Marco Rubio catch Nancy Reagan as she stumbled. And I saw Marco Rubio offering coy answers to the question everyone in the press was there to see him answer: would you want to be vice president? ...Rubio is known as a Tea-Party candidate, or semi-Tea-Party candidate, but he didn't throw any rhetorical bombs Tuesday. That alone made him sort of agreeable. There were moments when he dared to offer a gram of...

Despite my hopes, Sen. Marco Rubio will not run for president in 2012. But that doesn’t mean he won’t soon be within a heartbeat of the presidency. As the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza asked on Twitter: “Is it time to rename GOP primaries ‘the contest to become Marco Rubio’s running mate’?” Indeed, despite his protestations, Rubio has to be on the short list of potential GOP running mates. But the downside is that there is already a movement afoot (led by some on the fringe) to disqualify him from serving as president (which would presumably disqualify him from serving as...

Former First Lady Nancy Reagan, now 90 years young, plays an active role in the frequent events, which she sees as an important ongoing part of the political legacy of her husband. Ronald Reagan was the 40th president. He died in 2004 and is buried a few yards from the auditorium...

SANTA ROSA COUNTY - The FBI seized the computer of a Santa Rosa County Commissioner today. The computer was being used by Commissioner Jimmy Melvin, but he says the FBI told him their investigation does not involve him. The computer was used previously by former commissioner Gordon Goodin, and he told me tonight he doesn't have a clue why the FBI wants that computer. While the FBI isn't talking, they seized documents from Team Santa Rosa earlier this year. That's the economic development group for the county. The FBI wanted Team Santa Rosa's documents relating to the Blackwater State Prison...

Nancy Reagan last night lost her balance and fell as she arrived to watch a speech by Republican freshman senator and Tea Party darling Marco Rubio The frail former First Lady was being escorted to her seat in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, in Simi Valley, California, by Senator Rubio when she lost her footing and took a tumble. Mrs Reagan had asked Senator Rubio to speak at her late husband's presidential library following his election to the U.S. Senate last year. The pair had arrived to a standing ovation, but there were hushed gasps as the 90-year-old, who was...

Freshman Sen. Marco Rubio has hopped on the PAC bandwagon. The Florida Republican filed paperwork this week with the Federal Election Commission to create Reclaim America PAC, joining other Senate tea-party favorites who have created similar political action committees to influence races and elect like-minded conservatives in the 2012 cycle.
