FLOTUS Michelle Obama and Laura Bush served as keynote speakers yesterday honoring the Flight 93 Shanksville, Pennsylvania 9-11 memorial that resembles the Islamic Red Crescent design. Its design insults the memory of 9-11 hijack victim Tom Burnett, Jr. says his father. The bereaved man, who asked that his son’s name be removed from the site, is deeply offended especially now upon learning four glass blocks remembering the Jihadi hijackers are being added to the aisle of the 40 innocent American victims who took down the plane to prevent it from flying on to Washington. Tom Burnett, Sr. said, “Mr. Murdoch’s...

Good evening fellow Freepers, I just want to send out this FYI as many of you have been amazingly kind in your thoughts and prayers after hearing the news about my father on Flight 93. For those of you who don't know the background of the "Walk With Joe" - here you go.... On 9/11 my father, Joe Driscoll – an avid walker/hiker, was on his way to Yosemite National Park to go on an annual hiking trip with some friends. The flight he was on, United #93, never made it to California . It was hijacked and crashed in...

THE HEROES OF FLIGHT 93 AND HOW THEY HELPED FOIL AN ATTACK ON THE CAPITOL The terrorists used knives and box cutters to commandeer the three airplanes and then crash them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. They also indicated that they had bombs. GTE Airphone calls from the hijacked aircraft indicated that the terrorists, who numbered between three and six on each aircraft, would take control of the aircraft by taking a stewardess or passenger and either threatening, or actually cutting or stabbing them, and then take control of the aircraft when the crew came out...

April 07, 2008 © 2008 WorldNetDaily A group of concerned citizens has been raising alarms about the Islamic elements planned for the Flight 93 Memorial near Shanksville, Pa., for years. And a member of Congress has demanded the National Park Service make changes in its plans. But there's been no substantive response, and now the activists say it's time for the American people to let officials know whether they want to pay for and have installed in the memorial a crescent that points to Mecca to make up a "mihrab," the foundational point for every Islamic mosque, a tower that...

There's a huge American flag draped over the side of the Pentagon again, and there's a reading of the names of the Flight 93 passengers and crew. Did anyone see the blue flag with the checker design on it? What flag is that? Rumsfeld and others at the Pentagon are singing "America the Beautiful."

As we all know tomorrow is the fifth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. While there are many choices of what to view, including real time 9/11 rebroadcasts on certain networks, I would humbly suggest another choice. Other than the very beginning United 93 is filmed in a real time manner matching minute-for-minute what is believed to have occured on that fateful flight (buttressed by phone calls and cockpit recordings). Here's the plan: Since most video stores are not open at 8 in the morning rent United 93 tonight. Pop the movie into your dvd player around 8:15am and be...

THE SCARCITY of signs directing pilgrims to the temporary memorial where United Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, five years ago doesn’t dissuade visitors from meandering along Somerset County’s country roads until they reach the site. The September 11 crash killed everyone on board, including the four terrorists who hijacked the plane.Over 100,000 people come each year to pay their respects to the 33 passengers and seven crew members who are credited with preventing the Boeing 757 from reaching its target in Washington, D.C. Stan and Emily Jerich are among the volunteers who greet these visitors every day of the...

WASHINGTON - President Bush will visit Ground Zero to mark the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the White House announced yesterday. Though plans were still in the works, Bush will also make appearances at ceremonies at the 9/11 sites at the Pentagon and in western Pennsylvania, according to White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. "We have not announced all of those details yet. The one thing I can say is that the President will visit all three sites on the anniversary," Perino said.

Four Ohio teens are determined to complete a $1 million goal -- one step at a time. Infected blisters, knee injuries and high fevers haven't kept the 17-year-olds from continuing a 650-mile walk to raise money for 9/11 memorials near Shanksville, Somerset County, and in New York City ... As of yesterday, Walk to Raise had accumulated $5,900.

Remember that outrageous Islamic crescent-shaped memorial for Flight 93, that caused such an uproar the designer was forced to go back and make changes? Well, the changes are in, and the elements that caused the initial uproar are completely unaltered. Alec Rawls recaps the story,

We know it crashed, but not why FBI is silent, fueling "shot down" rumors Flowers and mementos cover makeshift memorial at crash site of United Airlines Flight 93 (AP) By WILLIAM BUNCH bunchw@phillynews.com SHANKSVILLE, Pa. - Ernie Stuhl is the mayor of this tiny farming borough that was so brutally placed on America's psychic map on the morning of Sept. 11, when United Airlines Flight 93 slammed nose-down into the edge of a barren strip-mine moonscape a couple of miles outside of town. A 77-year-old World War II veteran and retired Dodge dealer, he's certainly no conspiracy theorist. And, when ...

Universal's new movie, "United 93," is about United Airlines Flight 93, hijacked on 9-11 by Islamic terrorists shortly after leaving Newark, N.J., for San Francisco. The terrorists intended to fly the plane to Washington, D.C., and crash it into the Capitol. Instead, the passengers fought back and forced the plane down in Pennsylvania, thereby saving the lives of any number of people on the ground in Washington and saving America from a devastating blow to its image. Incredibly there is some controversy about this film. Apparently many Americans are not "ready" to see a film about 9-11 "so soon" after...

Mrs. Fierro stopped by the Shanksville (temporary) Flight 93 Memorial this past week while travelling from State College PA to the 'Burgh. The place was easy enough to find, and local folks were EXTREMELY polite and helpful in guiding us there. Such a nice difference from the "tolerant" 'Frisco Bay Area. The photos and video reflect the temporary Memorial, with a permanent one in the the works. Pray God they come up with a better permanent Memorial design than that abominable Red Crescent. The mood at the temporary Memorial was somber, but informal. Commercial/political displays are banned, though a few...

Five designs were unveiled Friday for a memorial to the 40 passengers and crew who died Sept. 11, 2001, on hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 including groves of trees, reflecting pools, man-made lakes and a 2 1/2-mile-long "Bravery Wall." A panel of 10 people, including victims' relatives, chose the finalists from 1,011 designs submitted by established firms and novices alike. Because only a fraction of the victims' remains were recovered, the designs are all low-key in relation to the reclaimed strip mine and family farms surrounding the site. Flight 93 was the only of four highjacked planes that did not...
