  • Yard Signs (shameless vanity)

    09/25/2008 6:47:42 PM PDT · by badpacifist · 68 replies · 1,146+ views
A quick little vanity because we have a need to know. In Missouri, the lack of yard signs compared to Bush-Kerry race in simply amazing. We see them here and there but I would say here it is at least 80% less than previous races. Bumper stickers are probably 70% less than before. Is it fear of vandalism, apathy? I apologize in advance for this vanity but it would be an asset to hear what it is like in other states right now. Some of my neighbors who usually are big Dim supporters and always have signs... do not have...

WASHINGTON (AFP) - \Barack Obama is trouncing John McCain in the race for the White House -- at least in sales of T-shirts, badges, baseball caps and other campaign merchandise. "Everyone is going for Obama," a sidewalk vendor whose stand was smothered in Obama and McCain T-shirts, along with garb for visitors to Washington, told AFP. "We sell about 70 percent Obama stuff -- way more than McCain," said the vendor, who asked not to be named. Obama-embroidered baseball caps sat in the center of the stand; the absence of a McCain equivalent was striking. "I don't think our wholesaler...

You might want to keep a an eye on what gets stuck on your vehicle. I came home the other night, and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a small red, white and blue sticker on the back of my wife's car, just under the "Bush/Cheney 04" sticker and near the big "W The President" sticker she has on there. This onerous sticker was placed on our car in Charlottesville, Virginia, a liberal outpost in the otherwise conservative enclave of Central Virginia. Of course, I'd love the chance to confront the obnoxious coward who presumed to use...

An idea struck me. Anybody want to join me? I think I'm going down to the office supply store and buy some printable stickers. On these I'm going to print: "Why do the democrats want us to lose in Iraq?" "Why do Democrats act like they want Bin Laden to win?" and things like that. And start sticking them wherever. We could start our own meme campaign!

CLOVIS— A Clovis man has been charged with distribution of sexually oriented materials to minors because of the stickers displayed on his car. The stickers portray cartoon images of bare-breasted female devils in sexual positions. Dean Young, 31, owns the car and faces the misdemeanor charge. Young has contacted the American Civil Liberties Union, which is considering representing him, said Peter Simonson, executive director of the ACLU of New Mexico. Simonson hasn't seen the stickers, but says he doubts they would violate the law. "I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket for a sticker on a car," Simonson said....

WASHINGTON - The vending machine industry, taking heavy criticism as kids and other Americans get fatter, is launching an anti-obesity marketing campaign to improve its image and fend off efforts to remove machines from schools. A big part of the effort: Color-coded stickers on vending machines to separate healthful items from those that hungry snackers should, in the industry's words, "choose rarely." The National Automatic Merchandising Association's effort, "Balanced for Life," includes computer software available to schools for $100 that was developed by a hospital to rate food by color codes. The move comes a day after the government issued...

There appears to have been a major shift in the last month in the U.S. presidential campaign from KERRY-IN-THE-LEAD to BUSH-IN-THE-LEAD. And this, before the GOP Convention has really gotten underway. It seems that Kerry supporters and Bush haters are becoming increasingly strident, stressed, psycopathic and perhaps even violent in some cases. Have you personally noticed this in your town and community?.....Because of TeRAYyza's very public meltdown, the SwiftBoatVets, Unfit for Command's booming national sales, devastating Swiftee TV ads in battlegrounds states, and the Kerry slip in the polls? Consider:--A young Bush campaign supporter was sucker-punched yesterday at a Washington State...

  • Behind the President Stickers

During the initial stages of the problem in Iraq, and when the protesters started making noise, I taped a hand-written sign in the back window of my car that said, 'I'm Behind My President'. After enough honks and waves, I decided to go the extra mile and get them made professionally. I gave them to friends, co-workers and started a website where I can distribute them, and hopefully cover my costs. If you are interested, they're 3 bucks, and for each one ordered through here, I'll give a buck back to Free Republic. Check out my site, http://www.behindthepresident.com, if you're...

(CNSNews.com) - Anti-Muslim bumper stickers were among the paraphernalia on sale at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, the Washington Post reported Friday. Vice President Dick Cheney, who spoke at the conference on Thursday, reportedly expressed "strong displeasure" about the bumper stickers through an aide. The Washington Post, which contacted Cheney's office, noted in Friday's edition, "One of the various exhibition booths hawking paraphernalia had some virulently anti-Muslim vinyl bumper stickers, for $3.95, including one that said: 'No Muslims -- No Terrorism.'" CPAC organizers reportedly asked the booth operator to stop selling the stickers, but according to the Washington Post...

For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use. City drivers must wait while PennDot redesigns auto registration stickers. Coming unglued over car registration stickers that won't stay glued on? Sticking your neck out in heavy traffic to catch the unstuck sticker that's soaring out your side window? Too bad, Philadelphia drivers. Even though Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials now admit Philadelphia's big, ugly, yellow car registration stickers aren't working, city drivers are going to be stuck with them for at least months to come. That's because a state officialdom that considers itself competent to run the city's school system...
