President Donald Trump on Saturday once again suggested interest in serving three terms in office, claiming that he was "probably entitled" to an additional four years following a hypothetical second term at a campaign event in Nevada. "And 52 days from now we're going to win Nevada, and we're gonna win four more years in the White House," Trump told the mostly maskless, non-socially distant crowd of his supporters on Saturday. "And then after that, we'll negotiate, right? Because we're probably - based on the way we were treated - we are probably entitled to another four after that." Trump...

Not everyone was convinced that Wednesday’s hearings before the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees did not bode well for Democrat’s anti-Trump causes. In fact, very few at MSNBC were willing to acknowledge it. On his Wednesday “Hardball” broadcast, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews went as far to say it was either a second term or a prison term, meaning that if President Donald Trump does not win a second term in 2020, he will face criminal prosecution, be convicted and sentenced to a prison term.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could simply invent new terms to replace the words that seem to cause more heat than light? For example, I have written before of my qualms about using the word capitalism to describe the free-market economy. The word was coined by capitalism's enemies to describe the system that they rejected.

When Rand Paul announced his “official” candidacy for the presidency this week he sparked a number of debates, not only in the media and among his opponents, but inside the GOP. One of the less noticed ones revolved around a comment he made during the speech regarding the institution of term limits for congressional offices, similar to what we have for the Oval Office. This drew a quick response from our friend Matt Lewis, who feels that Rand is missing the mark. "During his presidential announcement on Tuesday, Sen. Rand Paul took a stand for term limits. “We limit the...

(CNSNews.com) - Speaking with reporters from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel last month, Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) said she was “so relieved when [Obama] won,” and would give Obama an ‘A’ in his second term if he would “just occupy the spot.” When asked by a reporter to give a progress report on Obama’s second term and to grade him, Moore declined to at first saying, “I'm not going to give Obama a grade. I’m glad he’s there. A Grade compared to what? Compared to Mitt Romney being there?” She then compared Obama’s second term to what would have happened...

New York Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano reintroduced a bill in Congress on Friday to repeal the 22nd Amendment, which places term limits on the U.S. presidency. The bill, which has been referred to committee, would allow Barack President Obama to become the first president since Franklin Roosevelt to seek a third term in office. H.J. Res. 15 proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

Romney vows to lower jobless rate in first term to 6 percentBy Jonathan Easley - 05/23/12 02:01 PM ET Mitt Romney says his administration would lower the unemployment rate to 6 percent by the end of his first term. “I can tell you that over a period of four years, by virtue of the policies that we’d put in place, we’d get the unemployment rate down to 6 percent, and perhaps a little lower,” Romney says in a Time magazine interview. The 6 percent prediction is a bold claim that Romney will surely be held to by Democrats if he’s...

(Reuters) - The United States will seek a second term on the U.N. Human Rights Council which has made significant progress over the past two years despite a "biased and disproportionate focus on Israel," the State Department said on Thursday. "We believe that U.S. engagement in the Human Rights Council has directly resulted in real progress," State Department spokesman Mark Toner said in a statement announcing the decision to seek a new term. Despite opposition by some pro-Israel groups, the Obama administration took the United States into the council in 2009 with a promise to focus on traditional Western concerns...

School district candidates oppose term 'democracy'Associated Press Posted: Sunday, October 24, 2010 3:41 pm Several school board candidates in the Alpine School District are earning parental support for wanting to eliminate the use of the term 'democracy' from the district's mission statement. The Salt Lake Tribune reports a small group of parents has been protesting Alpine's mission statement, which says it is "educating all students to ensure the future of our democracy." The parents want to scrap the word democracy because they say it is contrary to a strict interpretation of the U.S. Constitution, which describes the nation's government as...

A majority of Americans don't think President Obama deserves to keep his job, a poll released today shows. With less than two weeks to go before the midterm elections, a survey conducted by Gallup shows that only 39 percent of Americans think Obama deserves to be re-elected in 2012. A staggering 54 percent think he should be a one-term president, the poll found. Earlier this year, between 46 and 48 percent of Americans said Obama should be re-elected. The survey also shows that Obama has averaged a job approval rating of 44.7 percent during the first seven quarters of his...

American voters have taken many zigs and zags over the years when choosing their country's chief executive. But one of the amazing consistencies is: They prefer chief executives in the executive office. Five of the last six presidents have been executives -- four governors and one sitting vice president. The only exception is the current incumbent, Barack Obama, who as his bipartisan critics tried to point out in 2007-08, had never even run a candy store, let alone a country. He was a law lecturer, a state senator and, briefly, a U.S. senator. He is one of only three sitting...
