Authorities on Friday nabbed a 15-year-old migrant suspected of shooting a tourist and firing at cops in Times Square, law enforcement sources said. The US Marshals Fugitive Recovery Task Force took the Venezuelan teen into custody in Yonkers at around 3:30 p.m., according to the sources. It came just moments after NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell identified Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa as the “armed and dangerous” person of interest in connection with the chaotic incident at the Crossroads of the World Thursday night.

When she was arrested in Afghanistan last month, Aafia Siddique allegedly had in her possession maps of New York, a list of potential targets that included the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, the subway system and the animal disease center on Plum Island, detailed chemical, biological and radiological weapon information that has been seen only in a handful of terrorist cases, as well as a thumb drive packed with emails, ABC News has learned.

Faisal Shahzad, Subprime Terrorist?Well, one way of falling behind with your house payments is to take half a year off to go to Pakistan and train in a terrorist camp.  The story of the Times Square bomber reads like some Urdu dinner-theater production of Mel Brooks’s The Producers that got lost in translation between here and Peshawar: A man sets out to produce the biggest bomb on Broadway since Dance a Little Closer closed on its opening night in 1983. Everything goes right: He gets a parking space right next to Viacom, owners of the hated Comedy Central! But then...

Are the NYT's and James Risen at fault here? Investigators of the failed car bombing in Times Square are looking for a money courier they say helped funnel cash from overseas to finance a Pakistani-American's preparations to blow up the crude gasoline-and-propane bomb in the heart of New York, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. Investigators have the name of the courier they believe helped Faisal Shahzad pay for the used SUV and other materials to rig up a car bomb that would have caused a huge fireball in Times Square if it had gone off, the official...

MIAMI – A suspected al-Qaida operative who lived for more than 15 years in the U.S. has become chief of the terror network's global operations, the FBI says, marking the first time a leader so intimately familiar with American society has been placed in charge of planning attacks. Adnan Shukrijumah, 35, has taken over a position once held by 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Miami-based FBI counterterrorism agent Brian LeBlanc (said). That puts him in regular contact with al-Qaida's senior leadership, including Osama bin Laden... Shukrijumah and two others were part of an "external operations council" that designed and approved...

Faisal Shahzad's Pakistani passport, tax documents, greeting cards, academic records and immigration documents were found abandoned outside a Shelton home once owned by the man charged in the attemped Times Square car bombing. The documents, mainly from 2000 and 2001, were found Tuesday by a Connecticut Post reporter outside the house at 119 Long Hill Ave. where the 30-year-old Shahzad lived until about a year ago. The house is vacant and up for sale. Police earlier had searched the property, according to neighbors.

For those who thought Osama Bin Laden's coven comprised only homicidal males, we bring you Aafia Siddiqui, captured last month in Afghanistan. In her possession were "documents describing the creation of explosives, chemical weapons and other weapons involving biological material and radiological agents." And, the scariest thing, a list of New York landmarks - Statue of Liberty, Times Square - the subway system and Plum Island, the government research laboratory off Long Island. Siddiqui, a 36-year-old Pakistani and a graduate of MIT, was nabbed lurking around a government compound in Afghanistan. While awaiting questioning, she allegedly grabbed a U.S. Army...

Federal authorities today for the first time asserted a direct link between one of the Pakistani men detained in Massachusetts last week and the alleged Times Square terror bomber. In an immigration court hearing this afternoon, a government witness testified that alleged bomber Faisal Shahzad’s cell number was programmed into Aftab Ali Khan’s phone. The government also contended that Shahzad’s first name was found on an envelope in Khan’s Watertown room. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent also testified that Khan’s wife, U.S. citizen Lila-Charlotte Fatou Sylla of Cambridge, had told ICE that the couple’s marriage was a sham “purely...

New details have emerged in a foiled plot to bomb New York City's subways, as authorities reportedly arrested another suspect in Pakistan. The unidentified man is the fourth man arrested in connection with the plan to stage a series of suicide attacks on subway trains last September. Law enforcement officials had said more arrests overseas were likely. This suspect will be extradited from Pakistan to the U.S. where he will be charged in Brooklyn's Eastern District Court, The Daily News reported today. The suspect will join Zarein Ahmedzay and Adis Medunjanin, accused of being the planned second and third suicide...

VIEW: Faisal Shahzad’s radicalisation —Yasser Latif Hamdani The Islamic organisations on American campuses are even more hardcore than what we have heard of the cancer of IJT, which is plaguing Pakistani campuses Faisal Shahzad’s arrest has brought renewed focus on our already much maligned country. Commentators with only a rudimentary knowledge of Pakistan and its history have been speculating that perhaps Pakistan’s status as a nation founded on Islam is the root cause, conveniently forgetting that Pakistan was never founded on any Pan-Islamic ideals or theocratic millennialism (as in the case of Israel) but was a result of a breakdown...

The stunning events of September 11, 2001, were a potential template for future terrorist attacks. But since then, al-Qaida and its affiliates have been unable to mount a similar encore in the United States. The foiled Times Square attack may be a sign that these groups have been forced to shift tactics to smaller operations that are less spectacular, but are also harder to detect. Former CIA counterterrorism chief Robert Grenier says the failed Times Square bombing last Saturday may indicate that al-Qaida and its allies have abandoned more grandiose plans for the United States and are emphasizing smaller but...

KARACHI, Pakistan, May 5 (UPI) -- Pakistani authorities arrested an acquaintance and relative of the suspect linked to a failed plot to blow up New York City's Times Square, officials said. U.S. authorities are interrogating Pakistani-born Faisal Shahzad for his alleged role in a plot to detonate a car bomb in Times Square during the weekend. He is charged with acts of terrorism and an attempt to use a weapon of mass destruction.
