The photographer who snapped John Kerry attending a 1971 anti-war rally says he and his photo agency intend to track down -- and possibly sue -- whoever doctored and circulated a photo that made it appear that the then 27-year-old Vietnam veteran was appearing alongside actress Jane Fonda.

Still No Justice for Rachel Corrie - Smith -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, January 23 2004 @ 12:57 PM EST "It is an insult to the human heart to have to force government officials to do their jobs properly while digesting the fact your child has been brutally killed .." By WENDY SMITH Tom Hurndall, a 22-year-old British peace activist, died last week in a London hospital. He was shot in the head by Israeli sniper fire nine months ago while shepherding Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip out of the line of fire. He had been in a coma since his injury....

The Good: This site is very popular (for some reason) and is one of the most visited on the internet. It may be the most popular forum site, which is why I post here even though the viepoints expressed here are decidedly different from mine. The Bad: This site really sucks. I mean it used to be interesting, but now it's nothing more than a father version of Lucianne.com where all that's allowed are the latest kneepad tributes to President Bush. The Ugly: I would like to say this site is racist, homophobic, sexist, blah, blah, blah. But since those...

Editorial: Signs of the times By Executive Editors Executive Editor Friday, October 10, 2003 As students returned to campus this fall, they were met with many familiar sights – first years moving in mass conglomerations, Maureen from Bon Appétit swiping caf cards and President Thomforde getting weepy during convocation. But, one glaring new addition darkened the doorways of residence halls to Buntrock and everywhere in between. Signs can now be seen on every building entrance, stating: “St. Olaf College bans guns on these premises.” Incoming first years and their parents may have wondered if the St. Olaf bubble had been...

Through the federal government, President Bush has been able to declare WAR in a "foreign" country. Unlike Viet Nam, Bush jump started the war with Iraq. With all of this diversion going on, WHY doesn't the media report on the real truth? That being that the de facto unlawful government state of Hawaii isn't a "STATE" at all and never has been. The fraud, lie and coverup has been all along that Hawaii has been militarily occupied for the past 110 years. There lives today 274 men/women that are of the true nationality of being Hawaiian. They never signed the...

Less than two and a half years after it came to power, the Bush administration, elected by fewer than half of the voters, has an impressive but depressing record. It has, in self-defense, declared one war—the war on terrorism —that has no end in sight. It has started, and won, two other wars. It has drastically changed the strategic doctrine and the diplomatic position of the United States, arguing that the nation's previous positions were obsolete and that the US has enough power to do pretty much as it pleases. At home, as part of the war on terrorism, it...

When all 24 office phones at Scott Richter's e-mail marketing company started ringing at once, with nobody at the other end of the line, employees knew they were under attack again.

Daniel Dye, the systems administrator, could do little. After 15 minutes into the lunchtime assault last month, Mr. Dye recalls yelling, "Go ahead and pull your phones out of the walls for now. It'll be easier to think about what to do." Examining the phone system's central computer, Mr. Dye found that someone had hacked into it and programmed a feature that caused all the phones to ring at the same time.

Communism is a better form of economic organization, compared to capitalism. I will use these following examples equality, employment, health care and society, to show why Communism is a better form of economic organization. First of all in a communist regime, people are all equal to each other no matter how educated that person is, in the eyes of the government. For example a Surgeon how is very well educated is equal in status with a peasant farmer because in communism their is no such thing as lower class, middle class and upper class. Eliminating economic boundaries which separate people,...

The nature of conservative politics is very much of the status quo, the standards set by society for itself and which is harshly regulated by the establishment and by the right. Anything outside of the "normal" is to be destroyed, looked down upon, or forgotten. Only one culture is acceptable to the conservative and to the right, the culture, of course, of the that group. All others are unimportant and wrong. Look at the obviously pro-capitalist stance taken by most, if not all, conservatives. It is the viewpoint that only what is good for me and my own is good...

Hail to the great hyprocrite Paul F. Macri, Auburn, Maine President Bush is a great American, a great American hypocrite, that is. My stomach turned last Thursday night as Bush’s jet landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln and America saw him in a flight suit for the first time since he went AWOL from the Texas National Guard more than 30 years ago. Don’t those cheering sailors — who truly are brave and did serve their country — know that Dubya conveniently sat out the Vietnam War, not as a protester or Rhodes Scholar, but with a rich boy’s “in”...

I knew that the wave of anti-Americanism that would swell up after the Iraq war would make me feel ill. And it has. It has made me much, much more ill than I had expected. My anti-Americanism has become almost uncontrollable. It has possessed me, like a disease. It rises up in my throat like acid reflux, that fashionable American sickness. I now loathe the United States and what it has done to Iraq and the rest of the helpless world. I can hardly bear to see the faces of Bush and Rumsfeld, or to watch their posturing body language,...
