December 7, Pearl Harbor day... so war (I 'spose) is appropriate subject matter. Among the news of the day, we have billboard ads about the nation purchased by atheists, dissing Christmas ("season for reason", as opposed to "Jesus, reason for the season"... clever those atheists). However, as an unabashed theist of the “born again Christian” variety... I find the atheist is a strange sort: he(she)often as part of their argument, rails against the "injustice" of God who does not exist, then (exclusively) claims to be of "rational and reasoned" mind! Try as I might, I can’t calculate their “math” (what...

Based on current advertising, below is a list of companies that avoid, ban, or use the term "Christmas" in their advertising. We will continually update the list, so check back often. Criteria - AFA reviewed up to four areas to determine if a company was "Christmas-friendly" in their advertising: print media (newspaper inserts), broadcast media (radio/television), website and/or personal visits to the store. If a company's ad has references to items associated with Christmas (trees, wreaths, lights, etc.), it was considered as an attempt to reach "Christmas" shoppers. If a company has items associated with Christmas, but did not use...

SOUTHLAKE -- Chase Bank told a businessman to remove the Christmas tree he donated to a local branch because it could offend people. Antonio Morales, owner of Bellagio Day Spa in Southlake, had assembled and decorated a 9-foot-tall tree in the lobby of the Chase Bank branch at 1700 E. Southlake Boulevard as a favor to the branch manager, who is one of his clients. The tree remained in the lobby from the Monday before Thanksgiving until Tuesday. Morales said his friend called him Wednesday to tell him the tree had to go. She later showed him an e-mail from...

It's that season again, which means that for the third year in a row, the German Christmas Village has set up a cozy collection of wooden booths and tree vendors in Dilworth Plaza on the west side of City Hall. But a few shoppers noticed something amiss yesterday on the tall metal archways signaling the entrances to the shops. The archways had just one word on top - "Village." Sounds festive, eh? I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the LOVE of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Rom 15:30 There was one person at the Portland Christmas Tree lighting who understood the spiritual importance that Christmas Tree lighting represented. When Mohamed Osman Mohamud shouted Allah Akbar and pushed the button on his fake bomb expecting to blow up thousands of Infidels he was attacking the one real enemy of Islam, Jesus Christ. Never mind Pioneer Square in Portland has outlawed any mention of Christ or even the name Holiday,...

As a mother of three in South Brunswick, Aftab has seen her children go through the same thing. Until now. Will Obama, like U.K.’s Tony Blair, usher in ‘gay’ tyranny in the United States? Former British P.M. Tony Blair used state power to promote the acceptance of homosexuality in the U.K. He is now working to make Christianity "gay"-affirming. By Peter LaBarbera I was sent this must-watch CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) video by my friend Gary Glenn, head of the American Family Association of Michigan. Glenn is backing a civil rights lawsuit by the Thomas More Law Center against Attorney Gen. Eric Holder over the new homosexuality/transsexuality–inclusive “hate crimes” law. This video deserves wide circulation as a warning to America....

In a classic parallel with Islamism and in a similar response to modernity's trials, the evangelical fusion of faith with politics is gathering pace, and rapidly re-defining conservatism as a politico-religious movement. A reader writes: I realize you rarely get to travel in true "teabagger country" but here in rural Mississippi, there is an interesting phenomenon occurring that the Brit Hume brouhaha brings into clearer focus. If you travel down any road, you will see churches popping up everywhere. I've lived here my entire life, and it used to be that each community had one church, usually Baptist, with a...
