President Biden said on Friday that he had the “strong inclination” not to approve of the Willow Project — a major oil project in Alaska — but did so out of concern for the legal ramifications. “My strong inclination was to disapprove of it across the board but the advice I got from counsel was that if that were the case, I may very well lose…that case in court to the oil company and then not be able to do what I really want to do beyond that,” Biden said during a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin...

The trees that shade, cool and feed people from Ventura County to the Mexican border are dying so fast that within a few years it’s possible the region will look, feel, sound and smell much less pleasant than it does now.“We’re witnessing a transition to a post-oasis landscape in Southern California,” says Greg McPherson, a supervisory research forester with the U.S. Forest Service who has been studying what he and others call an unprecedented die-off of the trees greening Southern California’s parks, campuses and yards. Botanists in recent years have documented insect and disease infestations as they’ve hop-scotched about the...

NEW YORK — Five years after she went missing from her Colorado home, Willow the cat has been reunited with her owners in New York City. How the calico cat ended up on a Manhattan street remains a mystery. But three children and their parents are certainly glad that she'll be headed home with them. ...Willow disappeared when a contractor left the front door ajar during a home renovation project five years ago. The family sent out frantic online messages and put up posters around their home in Broomfield. But when Willow didn't return, they assumed the petite 2-year-old had...

Bristol Palin isn't the only one living fast these days. Sarah and Todd Palin's second oldest daughter, Willow Palin, 16, was ticketed in Alaska for driving nearly 20 miles per hour over the speed limit in the family's black Cadillac Escalade SUV. According to a TMZ review of documents filed in Alaska, Willow was said to be driving 84 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone. According to the website, she was issued a 'minor offence' citation for $162 and let go 'without further incident'.

Kathy Griffin, the alleged comedienne who was booed by soldiers for a so-called "joke" about Bristol Palin, announced to The Hollywood Reporter that 16-year-old Willow Palin would be her next target. Griffin, who managed to get through a New Year's program without lapsing into her usual foul language, said, "In 2011 I want to offend a new Palin". The reason? "She's called people a fa---t on Facebook a couple of times," says Griffin. "You don't throw around the f-word without hearing from me about it." Griffin has already attacked other members of the Palin family and feels the teenaged girl...
  • What's with the recent trend of tagging non-relevant articles with palin or sarahpalin?

What's with the recent trend of tagging articles with palin or sarahpalin that have nothing to do with Sarah Palin? If your article has nothing to do with Palin, please don't tag it as such. It's bad enough that journalists use her name to get hits to their articles or as a cheap source of writing material. We don't need that attitude here too. Just because people want to increase traffic to their posts, doesn't mean they should tag their posted articles with palin or sarahpalin. This just clutters the keyword/tagging system.

The Left is just livid over a Facebook exchange between 16-year-old Willow Palin and a couple of guys from her area. Willow called one of the kids “gay” and a “faggot” in response to his attack on her family. Being of delicate constitution and having refined sensibilities, the Left was horrified by teenage trash talk, especially of the “homophobic” variety. After all, it’s not as if the Left would do the same. Why, I remember when former Pandagon writer “Ilyka” wrote a piece responding to something I wrote that claimed I was a rape-loving Christian “fag,” the noble liberals of...

I’m not exactly outraged Bristol Palin is in the finals of “Dancing with the Stars.” I’m not like the guy who shot out his TV when Tuesday’s votes were revealed. Bristol has shown poise and a willingness to learn. But she’s shown something else in her TV reality show run. She’s shown her mother’s surprising strength. The reason she’s consistently at the bottom of the judge’s rankings and yet wins another chance every week? Her mom is Sarah Palin. After this month’s elections, we officially live in the bluest blue-blue state on the face of the earth, so it takes...

The Huffington Post reported Tuesday that 16-year-old Willow Palin “unloaded on [a] student” and “lashed out at multiple others” during a Facebook wall post war. But Palin was not the only Facebook user to throw out scathing insults.Willow Palin is under immense media scrutiny and being dubbed “homophobic” by Gawker, a website that has made clear its unfavorable view of the Palin family, for describing one former schoolmate as “so gay” and a “faggot.” TMZ obtained screenshots yesterday of the Facebook debate, which began when a Facebook user and former classmate of the Palin girls named Tre posted a status update...

WASILLA — Piper Palin missed most of her classes last week, but it’s OK. She brought notes. The 8-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, along with 15-year-old sister Willow, joined the former Alaska governor in taping some interviews leading up to today’s release of Palin’s book, “Going Rogue: An American Life.” Perhaps the third-grader wanted more pull than just a note from a former governor and vice presidential candidate. So, after sitting in the front row while her mother was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in Chicago on Wednesday, Piper asked the talk show host for a note excusing her from class,...

Willow, Piper, and I are in Chicago and just wanted to let you know that I had a great conversation with Oprah today. We taped the show for Monday, November 16th, and enjoyed it so much that we went way over on time. The rest will air on Oprah.com. Oprah was very hospitable and gracious, and her audience was full of warm, energized and (no doubt) curious viewers. - Sarah Palin

Astonishing. From Jimmy Arone at Big Hollywood, a roundup of Bill Maher's Real Time monologue from last Friday night: In defending his friend, Maher thought Republicans had over reacted and this was just a case of ‘fake’ outrage. Much ado about nothing. He then went on talking about how Letterman had invited Sarah Palin and her young daughter, Willow, to appear as guests on his show but the Governor declined because she thought it would be wise to keep her daughter away from him. Said Maher, “…that’s right, he’s 62 years old, he’s gonna [f**k] her right there on stage…it...

David Letterman finally apologizes....albeit a crappy one that has this ridiculous line: It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault. That it was misunderstood. Yup, big misunderstanding. As Jeri says in the below video, "honest officer, I didn't know she wasn't 18!" Here is the whole thing: All right, here - I’ve been thinking about this situation with Governor Palin and her family now for about a week - it was a week ago tonight, and maybe you know about it, maybe you don’t know about it. But there was a joke that I told, and I...

President Barack Obama is, by far, the most popular politician in America. And there is little doubt who is No. 2. (snip) That many liberals found Mr. Letterman's remarks humorous speaks not only to their depravity, but to their fear. The 20,000 who turned out to see Ms. Palin in Auburn testify to the fact that she strikes a responsive chord with ordinary people no other Republican does. Liberals and some Beltway conservatives assert Ms. Palin is stupid. She frequently is misquoted -- most recently by Dan Balz in The Washington Post Wednesday -- to make her appear so. But...

New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, a Republican, is calling on the CEO of CBS to fire David Letterman for crude comments he made about Sarah Palin and her daughter. In the letter to CBS chief Les Moonves, Kolb said he took Letterman to task for the "shockingly inappropriate" jokes. “As the proud father of a daughter, and as a husband, I wanted Mr. Moonves to hear from me directly about Mr. Letterman’s disparaging remarks," Kolb said in a written statement. “Firing Mr. Letterman would send a clear message that CBS will not tolerate any of its employees...
