CNN Anchor Lauds Jimmy Carter as Expert on Iran And Bush’s Iraq ‘Blunder’ Posted by Scott Whitlock on November 29, 2006 - 15:44. The media’s fascination and love affair with Jimmy Carter apparently have no limits. CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer interviewed the ex-president on Tuesday’s "Situation Room" and cited his knowledge and experience of dealing with Iran: Wolf Blitzer: "You know a lot about Iran. You spent the last 444 days of your presidency focusing in on the American hostages."Jimmy Carter: "I remember that."Blitzer: "I know. I remember it very well. I think everyone who was alive remembers it, as...
  • Lou Dobbs Gives Kudos to Wolf Blitzer, Blows Raspberries at Lynne Cheney (You've Got A Friend)

As NewsBusters previously reported, Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, had a rather heated interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Friday (video of entire must-see segment here). Seeming to recognize how poorly he performed, Blitzer needed some encouraging words from one of his colleagues. So, he brought on Lou Dobbs to pat him on the back, and chastise Cheney (video available here). After some niceties, Dobbs said: Well, I, with all due respect, I don't believe Lynne Cheney could be more wrong, both in tone and in fact. The truth is that this government is not functioning. It...

Posted by Scott Whitlock on September 21, 2006 - 17:51. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, in an interview for the September 20 "Situation Room," questioned President Bush about Iran and wondered, "Why would it be so bad if this Iranian regime had a nuclear weapon?" Blitzer also alternated between complaining that not enough has been done to fight terrorism and wondering if the President was unnecessarily scaring the American people. On the subject of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the CNN anchor quizzed Bush as to why he couldn’t meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: BLITZER: "Given the stakes involved -- a nuclear confrontation -- what...

(I had this piece written this morning when I caught Senator Hagel of Nebraska on CBS describing Israel’s efforts to stop the Hezbollah from killing them as a “slaughter”. I felt sick to my stomach that we have such a stupid and ignorant person as a Republican senator. Where has he been for the last 58 years, or is he an anti-Semite too? We already know that he is a copperhead.) We are being inundated with pictures and news features showing innocent women and children being killed by Israeli attacks in Lebanon, and we are moved to act to stop...

It is truly sickening to see the leftists of the world exhibit their anti-Jewish hatred by calling on Israel to stop defending themselves against the Muslim murderers – terrorists who have now made perfectly clear to any fair-minded person that their only desire is to drive the Israelis into the sea. Among American broadcasters this unfairness is especially noticeable on CNN, with Wolf Blitzer the anti-Semite in chief. Americans should realize that Hamas, Fatah and Hezbollah are just other faces of the Muslim Brotherhood and al-Queda – Islamofascist jihadists who want to kill Americans just as badly as they want...

SY HERSH: BLOWING U.S. COVER By Michelle Malkin   ·   April 09, 2006 03:14 PM Seymour Hersh appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer today to share such pearls of wisdom as this: "Instead of talking about bombing, let's talk about talking." Hat tip to Allah Pundit, who writes: "Here's the man of the hour, defending his willingness to publicize info about clandestine ops and then preaching the virtues of empty diplomacy." Hate sites for Palestinian children - for 3 1/2 years! By Laura Mansfield When CNN contacted me this morning about the reports of a "new" Palestinian kids online magazine, I sent them the information I have collected over the past few years as I have monitored this website and numerous other Arabic language websites. The results of the interview were aired this evening on CNN during Wolf Blitzer's prime time show, The Situation Room. The following is an excerpt from CNN's transcript of The Situation Room located here: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0603/08/sitroom.02.html . BLITZER: Today, there are some troubling reports of a Hamas-endorsed...

Officials at Brookfield Zoo say they have no idea how a Mexican gray wolf's front right leg was torn off. The male wolf was in its exhibit Wednesday when zookeepers discovered that the limb was gone. Director of veterinary services Tom Meehan says the wolf likely lost its leg in some sort of accident before the zoo opened that day. Zookeepers searched the exhibit yesterday but couldn't find the missing leg. Meehan says it was a clean break in the middle of its lower leg.

As announced by Rush on his show, his attorney Roy Black will appear on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN tonight during the 7-8pm ET hour. He will explain the recent court decision. The decision was actually favorable to Rush, however, some folks in the media have attempted to diminish this.

I gave a talk recently on one of my favorite topics: liberal bias in the media. In the course of my remarks I referred to a quote made famous by Finley Peter Dunne's fictional alter ego, Mr. Dooley, a caricature of an Irishman from the old country who once sarcastically declared that the job of the newspaper is to "comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable." Dunne, himself, was a one-time Progressive who saw the light and became a Teddy Roosevelt Republican and a critic of sanctimonious do-gooders. Contemporary journalists may be unaware that the context of the Dunne quote...

As you know, about this time yesterday Senator Frist and Congressman Hastert sent out a letter demanding a bicameral investigation into the latest CIA leak (story) that resulted in a story in the Washington Post last Wednesday about these black sites, these so-called black prisons, these prisons that nobody knows about where we're housing these Al-Qaeda terrorists...

Couric set up the October 31 session: "Now to the man in the middle of the CIA leak case. No one was following the progress of the investigation into who revealed the identity of a CIA operative named Valerie Plame more closely than her husband Joe Wilson. His op-ed in the New York Times taking on the Bush administration's rationale for going to war in Iraq allegedly led to his wife's outing. Ambassador Wilson good morning, welcome back."             From CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Thursday, September 1, 2005, covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina: (audiotape on file, emphasis mine) BLITZER: "You simply get chills every time you see these poor individuals, as Jack Cafferty just pointed out, so tragically, so many of these people, almost all of them that we see, are so poor and they are so black, and this is going to raise lots of questions for people who are watching this story unfold." BLITZER: Do you think she's [Cindy Sheehan] going too far in politicizing her own personal tragedy? BEGALA: No, she has a perfect right. She has absolute moral authority. She is a Gold Star mother. She gave her son's life for her country. And she is the most position, most pristine position to speak about these things. I think the conservative activists that Bay talked about are overplaying this in a terrible way. They could be having a legitimate debate over America's role in Iraq. Some people think we should do more, some less. It's an honest debate. Instead, they're attacking...

The Blitzer Identity Forgets to Ask Clinton About Able Danger 08/11 04:06 PM Huge story in the New York Times today about serious intelligence lapses that occurred during the Clinton administration and the 9/11 Commission’s deliberate omission of those lapses from its final report despite military officials' warnings that the report would be incomplete without them. And what did Wolf Blitzer choose to ask the former president when he appeared on The Situation Room this afternoon? Do you think the war in Iraq was a mistake? Is your wife going to run for president? How does this Situation Room compare...

CNN anchorman Wolf Blitzer revealed Saturday that he had his own "Deep Throat" inside the Clinton White House - a source who blew the lid off Mr. Clinton's then-secret affair with Monica Lewinsky. But the CNN newsman didn't believe his tipster and decided not to report the story. Discussing the journalistic risks of relying on single sources like Woodward and Bernstein's famous Watergate leaker, Blitzer told WABC Radio's Mark Simone that he'd received his share of bombshell tips over the years. "But my experience has been that if a story sounds too good to be true, it almost always is,"...

Recently, Wolf Blitzer of CNN was interviewing new Prime Minister Jalal-Talibani of Iraq about the situation that the newly formed government council is facing now that Iraq is a democracy. Blitzer asked Jalal-Talibani when he thought the United States would bring the troops home. Jalal-Talibani told him that he forsees that U.S troops will be in his homeland for at least another two years. When the pime mnister said this, the look on Blitzer's face seemed to say: "You must be kidding." He looked as if he couldn't believe his ears. But I exclaimed to myself: "Another two years!" That...

This is not the first time Dan Rather has found himself in a serious dispute with a U.S. president. There was this exchange in 1974 during the height of the Watergate scandal with then-President Richard Nixon: Nixon: Are you running for something? Rather: No sir, are you? And there was this exchange with then-Vice President George Bush in 1988 over the Iran-Contra scandal. Rather: I don't want to be argumentative, Mr. vice president. Bush: You do, Dan. Rather: No -- no, sir, I don't. Bush: This is not a great night, because I want to talk about why I want...
