The United Nations Says We Should All Be Eating Insects The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), a part of the United Nations, has released a report saying that we should all get ready to start eating insects. There’s a certain amount of truth in the report but not all that much: “ World population is slated to top nine billion by 2050, and seeing as how arable land is being rapidly swallowed by towns and cities, oceans are increasingly overfished, and climate change is disrupting traditional farming, a new United Nations study proposes a twist on Marie Antoinette’s dietary advice:...

.......... [S]upport for Obama has more to do with European distaste for Middle America, characterised by “angry” Tea Party activists, guns, racism, climate-change denial and creationism. (We all like a laugh at creationists, but the main difference between the sort of unscientific beliefs espoused by religious Republicans and the secular bunkum believed by the Democrats is that you can get fired for questioning the latter’s PC doctrines.) It’s this arrogance and snobbery that drives European thinking about the US. A case in point is the Guardian’s unwittingly comic 2004 Operation Clark County, where they got various yellow-teethed Brits to condescendingly...

"What we need is a separation of banking and government. We need to pull them apart. Bilderberg is where they come together. The ideology of Bilderberg is the fusion of big corporations and big government. This is fascism." ... might find it "interesting" that the chairman, vice-chairman, and CEO of Shell are meeting up, for a three-day conference, with the chairman of Barclays, the White House national security advisor, the head of the NSA, the head of HSBC, the Chancellor of Austria, the Lord Chancellor of Britain, the governor of Indiana, the CEO of Unilever, the director-general of the World...

The fact that the world is being restructured from decentralized diversity to collectivized hierarchy by an authoritarian regime cloaked in green trappings can hardly be disputed. The final push toward the next and perhaps final phase may be announced this June at the 2012 U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A Scientific American editorial by Gary Stix highlights a policy article written by several dozen scientists that appeared online March 15 in the journal Science. The conclusions reached by the scientists, as well as the editorial from a staff member of Scientific American are incredibly unscientific...

'Effective World Government Will Be Needed to Stave Off Climate Catastrophe' Says Sci Am Editor By Noel Sheppard Created 03/18/2012 - 6:52pm "Effective World Government Will Be Needed to Stave Off Climate Catastrophe." So read Saturday's headline to Senior Editor Gary Stix's piece at one of the nation's most popular science magazines Scientific American: A policy article authored by several dozen scientists appeared online March 15 in Science to acknowledge this point: “Human societies must now change course and steer away from critical tipping points in the Earth system that might lead to rapid and irreversible change. This requires fundamental...

To any American, dedicated to the promise of the Founders to secure the "Blessings of Liberty" to their posterity, a surrender of what those brave men achieved on the battlefield can never be acceptable. But that is not the only fundamental flaw in the Cousins "argument." There is an implied premise, in the claim that we must have World Government to prevent the Nations of the world from savaging one another, that there is no effective alternative, or alternatively that a World Government would be more likely to prevent the horrors of modern war than would, for example, the traditional...

It was recently observed that Ron Paul was to the left of Obama on national security and the best evidence for that statement can be found when one year ago Ron Paul joined forces with Barney Frank on a proposal to gut national defense via a panel of experts, quite a few of whom were tied to George Soros. In July 2010, Barney Frank and Ron Paul co-authored a Huffington Post article rolling out their Sustainable Defense Task Force. The Task Force “consisting of experts on military expenditures that span the ideological spectrum” would recommend a trillion dollars in defense...

A new International Climate Court will have the power to compel Western nations to pay ever-larger sums to third-world countries in the name of making reparation for supposed “climate debt”. The Court will have no power over third-world countries. Here and throughout the draft, the West is the sole target. “The process” is now irredeemably anti-Western. Ø “Rights of Mother Earth”: The draft, which seems to have been written by feeble-minded green activists and environmental extremists, talks of “The recognition and defence of the rights of Mother Earth to ensure harmony between humanity and nature”

PARIS (AFP) – A planned fund to channel hundreds of billions of dollars to poor countries exposed to climate change has overcome an early obstacle, the UN said on Friday. Members of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change have agreed on the make-up of a 40-seat transitional committee to design the Green Climate Fund (GCF), an issue that had been debated for weeks, the UNFCCC said. Established at the UNFCCC's conference in Cancun last December, the GCF aims at administering aid, potentially worth 100 billion dollars a year by 2020, to developing countries at risk from rising seas, worsening...

The United States on Friday disavowed torture and pledged to treat terror suspects humanely, but set aside calls to drop the death penalty, as the United Nations carried out its first review of Washington’s human rights record. As part a groundbreaking commitment to improvement under the Obama administration, the U.S. joined the 47-nation Human Rights Council in 2009. And in doing so, submitted to more international scrutiny. He said the U.S. would agree to improvements in areas ranging from civil rights to national security to immigration, including intolerance of torture and the humane treatment of suspects at the Guantanamo Bay...

Chastising a global movement to crack down on illegal immigration, the famously corrupt United Nations warns that governments worldwide must respect and protect the rights of all “migrants in an irregular situation.” Aimed largely at Arizona’s new immigration control law and the recent French expulsions of Roma migrants, the rather amusing U.N. admonition calls upon states to ensure that their laws conform with “international human rights standards and guarantees at all stages of the migration process.” That means that local governments must protect illegal immigrants’ “fundamental rights,” including the right to be free from “arbitrary arrest or detention” as well...

OBAMA REVEALS ANTI-GUN U.N. INTENT; SENDS EX-SEATTLE MAYOR AS REP Thursday, September 16th, 2010 BELLEVUE, WA – The appointment of anti-gun rights former Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels as an alternate representative to the United Nations has removed any doubt about the Obama administration’s intentions regarding global gun control initiatives, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today. Nickels, a founding member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the author of Seattle’s failed attempt to override Washington’s state firearms preemption statute, was sworn in Wednesday to “help represent the United States in the UN assembly,”...

In a classic case of misdirection, while the media are preoccupied with the fate of the Bush tax cuts, President Obama is preparing to attend a United Nations summit next week to endorse “innovative finance mechanisms”—global taxes—to drain even more wealth out of the U.S. economy. A draft “outcome document” produced in advance of the September 20-22 U.N. Summit on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) commits the nations of the world to supporting “innovative financing mechanisms” to supplement foreign aid spending. The term “innovative financing mechanisms” is a U.N. euphemism for global taxes. But the document actually goes further, praising...

There are not many empty seats in the dismal, echoing conference chamber in the ghastly concrete box that is the Hotel Maritim here in Bonn, where the UN’s latest attempt to maneuver the 194 States Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change gets underway today. The “international community”, as it is now called, is here in full force, in the shape of expensively-suited, shiny-shod bureaucrats with an urbane manner and absolutely no knowledge of climate science whatsoever. However, one empty chair is a pointer of things to come. The Holy See – a tiny nation in its own...

Bankers stood shoulder-to-shoulder at the Swiss ski resort of Davos to try to prevent a scatter-gun approach to new financial regulation by different countries. They united against Barack Obama's threat to break up banks and Gordon Brown's growing enthusiasm for a Tobin tax on all financial market transactions. The Standard Chartered chief executive, Peter Sands, warned against over-regulating the private sector and stifling economic recovery. “The stakes are very high,” he said. “If we get it wrong in one dimension, we will end up stifling growth. If we get it wrong in the other dimension we end up with another...

Wednesday, December 23, 2009 Why Does Interpol Need Immunity from American Law? [Andy McCarthy] You just can't make up how brazen this crowd is. One week ago, President Obama quietly signed an executive order that makes an international police force immune from the restraints of American law.Interpol is the shorthand for the International Criminal Police Organization. It was established in 1923 and operates in about 188 countries. By executive order 12425, issued in 1983, President Reagan recognized Interpol as an international organization and gave it some of the privileges and immunities customarily extended to foreign diplomats. Interpol, however, is also...

These pillars of Obama’s vision for “just peace” can only manifest from a sovereign global institution empowered to enforce its will upon the nations of the world, most conspicuously by redistributing wealth. In other words, Obama is calling for a communist world government. He does so while pointing to the environmental cause of Copenhagen, where a treaty which could establish such a government is set to be signed this week. By acknowledging the fallibility of human nature and then calling for an institution to perfect the human condition, Obama suggests the inherent superiority of whoever could craft such an institution....

COPENHAGEN — The $10 billion a year proposed by rich nations to help the poor adapt to climate change is "not sufficient" and the gap between what's offered and what's needed could wreck the Copenhagen climate conference, American billionaire George Soros said Thursday. The investor-philanthropist, one in a line of international notables visiting the 192-nation meeting, told reporters he had developed a partial solution. Soros suggested shifting some International Monetary Fund resources from providing liquidity to stressed global financial system to a new mission of financing projects in developing countries for clean energy and adapting to climate change.

We can only hope that world leaders will do nothing more than enjoy a pleasant bicycle ride around the charming streets of Copenhagen come December. For if they actually manage to wring out an agreement based on the current draft text of the Copenhagen climate-change treaty, the world is in for some nasty surprises. Draft text, you say? If you haven't heard about it, that's because none of our otherwise talkative political leaders have bothered to tell us what the drafters have already cobbled together for leaders to consider. And neither have the media. Enter Lord Christopher Monckton. The former...

Who needs tanks on the lawn when you have the Environmental Protection Agency? Barack Obama’s use of the EPA to pressurise the Senate to pass his climate change Nuremberg Decrees shows his dictatorial mentality. He wants to override Congress, which is hostile to his climate gobbledegook because it is representative of the American electorate, and sideline the nation’s elected Senators by ruling by decree, courtesy of the EPA. This is a coup d’état. And what is the justification for this undemocratic action? The allegedly imminent threat from “Anthropogenic Global Warming”. There is always a supposed threat, when tyrants take the...

Climate Change: Major U.S. corporations have set up a Web site calling for a global climate treaty to be signed in Copenhagen. Considering recent evidence of massive climate fraud, perhaps they should reconsider. Many will remember the classic soft drink ad campaign where young people from many nations gather on a mountaintop and sing that they'd like to buy the world a Coke, the theory being that sharing a soda was the key to world peace. That sort of naivete has led peoples and governments around the world to accept at face value the outright fraud perpetrated by the Milli...

Climate Change: As scientists confirm the earth has not warmed at all in the past decade, others wonder how this could be and what it means for Copenhagen. Maybe Al Gore can Photoshop something before December. It will be a very cold winter of discontent for the warm-mongers. The climate show-and-tell in Copenhagen next month will be nothing more than a meaningless carbon-emitting jaunt, unable to decide just whom to blame or how to divvy up the profitable spoils of climate change hysteria. The collapse of the talks coupled with the decision by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to put...

The saying goes… “Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean that they aren’t after me!” And indeed those who have tried to warn us of a coming one world rule have been roundly criticized, patronized and ostracized to the point of exclusion from any intelligent debate regarding the subject. Fact is the subject of one world government is treated as if it is some science fiction notion. Which begs the question, how does anyone who pooh-poohs the idea of one world government explain the comments coming from the newly installed president of the European Union, Herman Van Rompuy who as a...

Coca-Cola is spearheading a coalition of more than 100 companies pushing a United Nations climate treaty to bind the U.S. to cap-and-trade emissions regulation, commit the world's wealthiest nations to a potential $10 trillion in foreign aid and, possibly, form a proposed international "super-grid" for regulating and distributing electric power worldwide. Together with the SAP and Siemens corporations, Coca-Cola launched a website called Hopenhagen, leading up to the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, which opens on Dec. 7. The website invites the citizens of the world to sign a petition demanding world leaders draft binding agreements on climate...

Control: The House and Senate climate bills contain a provision giving the president extraordinary powers in the event of a "climate emergency." As chief of staff Rahm Emanuel says, a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. If you thought the House health care bill that nobody read has hidden passages that threaten our freedoms and liberty, take a peak at the "trigger" placed in the byzantine innards of both the House-passed Waxman-Markey bill and the Kerry-Boxer bill just passed by Democrats out of Sen. Barbara Boxer's Environment and Public Works Committee. As Nick Loris of the Heritage Foundation points...

(snip) U.S. leadership is crucial. That is why I am encouraged by the spirit of compromise shown in the bipartisan initiative announced last week by John Kerry and Lindsey Graham. Here was a pair of U.S. senators — one Republican, the other Democratic — coming together to bridge their parties’ differences to address climate change in a spirit of genuine give-and-take. We cannot afford another period where the United States stands on the sidelines. An engaged United States can lead the world to seal a deal to combat climate change in Copenhagen. An indecisive or insufficiently engaged United States will...

Obama plans to cede US sovereignty to a newly created world government; so claimed British Lord Christopher Monckton last week during a lecture in Minnesota. In this bonus episode of Fightin Words, Walter Hudson is interviewed on Sentinel Radio by Arlen Williams regarding how the story broke, its scope, and the conspicuous lack of coverage by the mainstream media (with the notable exception of Glenn Beck). Click through for the podcast, if interested. Thanks, and have a nice day.

This is such a stunning claim I have been hesitating to post on it, until the actual language in a treaty President Obama is planning to sign in December did indicate the creation of a new world government meant to use the fig leaf of mythical global warming to take control of the world’s energy markets. The source of this claim is disturbingly credible.(snip)... the concern Monckton speaks to may well prove the single most important issue facing the American nation, bigger than health care, bigger than cap and trade, and worth every citizen’s focused attention.

Regardless of whether global warming is taking place or caused to any degree by human activity, we do not want a global government empowered to tax Americans without elected representation or anything analogous to constitutional protections. The Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew their progeny allowed a foreign power such authority, effectively undoing their every effort in an act of Anti-American Revolution. If that is our imminent course, we need to put all else on hold and focus on stopping it. If American sovereignty is ceded, all other debate is irrelevant

The International Monetary Fund is open to a plan that would see banks contribute to an insurance policy against a future economic collapse, the agency revealed on Friday. "Considering that the financial sector is creating a lot of systemic risk for the global economy," said the fund's managing director Dominique Strauss-Kahn, "it is just fair that such a sector would pay some part of its resources to help mitigate the risks that they are creating."

In the midst of one of the greatest existential threats of our times, President Obama is pursuing severe reductions in US military strength. His recent statements at the United Nations have merely added fuel to the fire. When combined with his pledge to reduce US nuclear weapons stockpiles by 80 percent, a clear pattern emerges. These actions would seem irrational, even by Obama's standards, if they weren't in keeping with a 50-year old strategy aimed at unilaterally disarming the United States in order that a "progressively strengthened" UN Peace Force might be established. This idea has been steadily advanced during...

Sen. James Inhofe (R., Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), tells NRO that he plans to “lead a truth squad” at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this December. The Oklahoman predicts that he probably will not be welcomed with open arms. Inhofe, as you may remember, led a similar group of conservative legislators in 2003, during the U.N.’s climate-change negotiations in Milan, Italy. “I was the outcast at that time,” recalls Inhofe. “Now, I want to make sure that those attending the Copenhagen conference know what is really happening in...

Obama to Chair UN Security Council Role could have prez crossing paths with Gaddafi Updated 6:45 AM CDT, Wed, Sep 9, 2009 Barack Obama is set to become the first-ever U.S. president to chair the United Nations' 15-member Security Council when it meets later this month. The council, which next meets Sept. 24, deals with a host of global challenges, including nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament. The Obama administration hopes to use the month-long appointment to emphasise a departure from the Bush administration's strategy of pursuing its own unilateral policies through the council. Obama will join other heads of government...

WALTER CRONKITE PROMOTES DEMOCRATIC FEDERAL WORLD GOVERNMENT (Received W.F.A.'s Norman Cousins Global Governance Award on 19 October 1999} I am greatly honored to receive this award for two reasons: first, I believe as Norman Cousins did that the first priority of humankind in this era is to establish an effective system of world law that will assure peace with justice among the peoples of the world; second, I feel sentimental about this award because half a century ago Norman offered me a job as spokesman and Washington lobbyist for the World Federalist organization, which was then in its infancy. I...

Following the 2009 G20 summit, plans were announced for implementing the creation of a new global currency to replace the US dollar’s role as the world reserve currency. Point 19 of the communiqué released by the G20 at the end of the Summit stated, “We have agreed to support a general SDR allocation which will inject $250 billion into the world economy and increase global liquidity.” SDRs, or Special Drawing Rights, are “a synthetic paper currency issued by the International Monetary Fund.” As the Telegraph reported, “the G20 leaders have activated the IMF’s power to create money and begin global...

I have never believed that there is a secret United Nations plot to take over the US. I have never seen black helicopters hovering in the sky above Montana. But, for the first time in my life, I think the formation of some sort of world government is plausible. A “world government” would involve much more than co-operation between nations. It would be an entity with state-like characteristics, backed by a body of laws. Geoffrey Blainey, an eminent Australian historian, has written: “For the first time in human history, world government of some sort is now possible.” Barack Obama... In...

United Nations General Assembly President Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann intends to leave his mark on the United Nations and the global economic-political picture before his one-year term ends in September. D'Escoto, a longtime top official in the communist Sandinista government of Nicaragua, has chosen as his primary vehicle for making this mark the UN Conference on the World's Financial and Economic Crisis to be held June 24-26 at the UN headquarters in New York. The D'Escoto-UN plan, which has received scant media coverage, is nothing short of s full-blown call for world government administered through the UN. The Draft Outcome Document...

UN chief Ban Ki-moon warned Thursday that failing to act to halt the global economic crisis could lead to widespread social unrest and failed states, ahead of the G20 crisis summit here. "What began as a financial crisis has become a global economic crisis," the UN secretary general wrote in an article in the Guardian newspaper. "I fear worse to come -- a full-blown political crisis defined by growing social unrest, weakened governments and angry publics who have lost all faith in their leaders and their own future."

If President-Elect Obama has his way there will be a new world order, where the UN and World Courts have have a big say in what happens in the US. Both Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton have a strong alliance with Brookings Institution president Strobe Talbott, a big believer in world government and a trusted contact of the Russian Intelligence service while he was in the Clinton Administration. As a Senator the President supported the pro-UN Global Poverty Act and co-sponsorship of the Jubilee Act a measure that would use $920 billion of tax payer dollars. Ironies and double standards can be subtle. And, in giddy “historic” times, the ironies can be absolutely blistering. For example, consider the media’s different contortions when covering the positions of presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama on the matter of a “global warming” treaty. For example, last week the Obama administration proclaimed that expectations shall be lowered on that front and, for some reason, broadcast anchors eschewed rending of cloth and gnashing of teeth, and the print media couldn’t be bothered with the usual editorials and hit pieces masquerading as news items to condemn the seemingly rational assessment. The...
