What do you think will happen in 2010? It could go either way. It would be great to see the tea party express crush the rinos, but will we then be able to beat Obama and the Rats in November, or will we be seen as too conservative "for the nainstream"? You saw with the far left Kerry in 2004 how easily we beat them. The tea party is real conservative, but I don't want to lose to the Dems and Obama again either.

An Open Letter To Patriots I am writing this as an open letter to all that consider themselves a voice for the Conservative / Tea Party Movement or any other political voice in opposition to the current administration in D.C. More and more average citizens are becoming active in the political process every day. Many, like myself, have never been involved but are very concerned about the direction of our great nation. They turn to many media sources for information and insight on the seemingly endless series of debates over everything from healthcare and immigration reform to jobs and the...

Healthcare has been a divisive political landmine that has ravaged unsuspecting politicians for years. The idea that something must be done is uniform the method in which healthcare is reformed has been less lucent. I've labored over my position on this topic for some time and I believe the idea is sound and the need is present what is lacking is the desire to meet the challenge. Having healthcare may have been a luxury in years past but it's an absolute necessity today. Our environment has grown so toxic that more and more people are requiring medical care at much...

I came here to understand the conservative point of view. I've lurked for a while now. I decided it'd be appropriate for me to say a few words. I think that you are patriotic Americans. I am a patriotic American too. It is our right and duty as Americans to vehemently disagree with eachother about how this nation should be governed. It is also our right to call into question the patriotism of those with whom we disagree, but it is our duty not to. It was patriotic to protest the government four years ago, and it is patriotic now....

Obama already is in over his head concerning his own country. He has not brought hope and change as he promised. He has been discovered as the inept individual many knew him to be before he walked into the White House.

InspectorSmith Im sorry everyone but, I cannot work with Orly Taitz any longer. She wants me to lie under oath. (4 hours ago) InspectorSmith (1 hour ago) Orly Taitz does not feel it is important to investigate further into any documents that backup Obama's claim to Hawaiian birth. She says that she does not have the money to do so However, her legal team is free to pay their own way. Her whole legal team works for free and pays their own expenses. She had the nerve to tell me to get a job when I requested that she send...

To those out there desperately trying to paste together scraps of enthusiasm by singing the poetic praises of VP Dick Cheney, please don’t expect the average conservative out in flyover country to join your little Republican booster club. Certainly, there is not much to disagree with in what the former VP says. No doubt, we’re “less safe” under Obama. Pres Obama’s administration is obviously lowering all of our defenses. Opening us wide to all manner of political, economic and violent terror attacks. So why does the GOP Base continue to rapidly shrink? (now down to 27% - Gallup) Why is...

As the boy attempts to make the switch, he's zapped by electricity and runs away. A boy from North Carolina was caught on tape trying to swap signs from John McCain to Barack Obama. The video posted on YouTube.com shows a 9-year-old boy creeping up to a McCain/Palin yard sign outside of a home with an Obama sign. As the boy attempts to make the switch, he's zapped by electricity and runs away. Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill, says he was tired of people swapping out his sign, so the home owner with a degree in electrical engineering hooked up...

A man who may have been trying to steal copper wiring was severely burned on top of a utility pole this morning, Dallas Fire-Rescue said. His rescue was hindered because his flesh had melded with the metal on the pole. A Dallas Fire-Rescue dispatcher said a passerby called about 5:30 a.m. to report that a man was on top of a utility pole and that wires were sparking above in the 800 block of Regal Row near the Irving border. Police said there had also been reports of power outages in the area. When crews arrived, they found a person,...

The only truly critical factor affecting the earth is overpopulation. To make things it is an ignored topic because of political correctness. We will rid the earth of all its resources, and thereby eliminate humanity.

Weird. I post replies, they don't show up. I get pinged to articles I haven't posted yet. Paging Art Bell.

As much as I prefer Rudy Giuliani for President, I just can't fathom voting against McCain and giving the White House to Hillary. Hopefully, most Republicans will see the lesser of two evils when casting their vote. How 'bout a Giuliani/McCain ticket (or vice versa) for Pres. & VP? Think Independents would come on board? I don't mean to sound like a desperate Republican, but sometimes you've just gotta call it like it is. :o)

Hunt is a privately-held independent oil company based in Dallas, Texas. A third partner, Impulse Energy Corp., also has a stake in the project. "We're very pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of these landmark events by actively participating in the establishment of the petroleum industry," Ray L. Hunt, Hunt's CEO, said in a statement. Hunt, who is also on the board of Halliburton, has been a key fundraiser for President George W. Bush, who named him to the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.

I recently found this video blog posted by independent film maker and independent art advocate, Lloyd Kaufman. He addresses the recent Hilary Clinton parody video that gained momentory media attention. Although the attention it originally got was positive, Kaufman's attention is certainly not. What do you all think? Are his claims warranted and are his concerns legitimated?

I'm a Democratic-leaning independent voter that has lurked on the site for some time. Although I don't agree with the viewpoints of many here, I've learned quite a bit from the research necessary to fairly appreciate both sides of the issue. Pretty much the same reason I listen to Hannity and Rush. I also belong to DailyKos but likewise rarely find myself in lockstep agreement with the left, either, on any issue. I'd be the first one to admit that both sides often have valid points. I just wish politicians would do a better job of acknowledging that, instead of...

About me: Lurker - since 1998 Member - since 1999 In self-imposed exile - since April 2007 The tone of the debate and the attacks on long-time fellow Freepers for the cardinal sin of daring to support Rudy Giuliani in early 2007 around here have really saddened me. Instead of fighting the enemy FR is now imposing an 'ideological purity' test on FR members. The well-oiled train has gone off the rails and Mr. Robinson risks becoming the next Joe Farah - a fellow who started a great website for conservative news and opinions, but who gradually drifted off to...
