With all the noise surrounding the Democrats’ crowded presidential field, it’s easy to overlook that the Clintons are gone from the scene.
The Clinton era began with a largely unknown Bill Clinton giving a disastrously overlong speech at the 1988 Democratic National Convention. It ended quietly last week with Hillary Clinton telling the world that she was not running again.
In between, the Clintons built and stoked a nationwide network of labor and business figures, minorities and women that was as loyal as any political machine. They weren’t just the face of the party — they were also behind-the-scenes power brokers who got friends elected to offices large and small.
Even when the rank and file mutinied and went for Barack Obama over Hillary in 2008, the Clintons dusted themselves off, remained true to the party and kept the machine tuned for her second run.
Now they are gone, and the voice of the party’s middle has gone with them. There are no high-powered governors or senators to take their place.
The closest thing the party has to an overarching senior figure is Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and she has her hands full managing the House. Obama is busy with his My Brother’s Keeper foundation and is staying out.
Most of the middle-of-the-roaders I know hope former Vice President Joe Biden will take the wheel.
He might. But for all of Biden’s experience and charm, he’s no Clinton.

The Democratic Party without the Clinton’s is a party that has dropped the pretense.
They have gone full socialist.
At least Slick Willy tried to act like he cared about Americans.
Democrats today are only concerned with importing enough foreigners to cement their control.
With these two Willies gone, the party is less cocky.
I cannot imagine how removing two t*rds from the septic tank changes the stink in any discernible way.
The Clinton’s knew the secret to winning, you can win with less than 40% of the vote if you have a 3rd party candidate. Had Trump ran as a 3rd party, she would have had it in the bag. She wanted Trump to run, but he went Republican, thus no 3rd party to drain the votes. The brain numbs were her biggest supporters which gave her the chance to win it. Sorry it didn’t work out, there was no Perot. Ahhh , but there is a Kasich? Kanishes? Some name like that who delivered mail?

IOW, he's going to endorse Joe Biden, but strongly encourage Biden to pick Kamala Harris for a running mate.

Cuz she "knew" that no self-respecting conservative would vote for a twice-divorced womanizer. She got the media to play him up and he got millions in free advertising, much to the chagrin of the other 16 Republican candidates.
But then she lost. Never conceded. Had to apologize to Obummer cuz all his friends were not going to be back in the White House.
Now, they are trying to figure out who to rely on to take back the Big House; The Kamala-Toe or The Faux-Injun or The Cory-Booger or The OldMan-Kid-Kisser or The Irish-FakeMexican?
Oh, what a web that is weaved when they work to deceive. Or something like that.
It looks to me like the party wants to move from Clinton cronyism to socialism. Such a choice.
