The latest excavations by an Iranian and French joint team at prehistoric caves of Kermanshah, west of Iran, revealed them to have been early settlements of Neanderthals who used to live there about 85,000 to 40,000 years ago. Current whereabouts any remaining Neanderthals are a matter of speculation. Nevertheless, many are convinced that they are now running the Iranian government.

I'll go first:

Neanderthals are not related to modern humans.
Hominoids which appearred before neanderthals, evolved into two seperate subspecies; neanderthals and homo erectus.
Neanderthals did not evolve and became extinct while homo erectus evolved into modern humans.

Bash away......

Interbreeding is not evolution .. it is conquest and genetics.
Traces of neanderthals abound.
Prove they don't.

The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

There was no interbreeding.

You can't breed a cat with a lion. They are different species.
You can't breed a chimpanzee with a gorilla. They are different species.
You can't breed a neanderthal and a homo erectus. They are different species.

And, you can't breed the original hominoid with a homo eructus. That would be difficult because the hominoid would be 500,000 years old.

There isn't any proof there.
I see a supposition of species separation, but no proof.

How can one species "evolve" into another species?
