You know Birmingham and Jackson Miss and the Gulf coast and New Orleans Baton Rouge really carried Buckingham Nicks in 73/74 before Fleetwood Mac grabbed them
They were about kaput and Mac snagged em
I loved that album with her nude on the front...
Lord she was so delish and every song on there was great
Lindsey and Waddy on guitars....a dream team of precise guitar playin.
Keltner on drums....a legend.
You could tell they would mesh with Mac easy from jump street just the sound Long Distsnce Winner
Same as how Robert Palmer did well with Little Feat
Or Walsh with the Eagles when Leadon left
Girls loved Buckingham Nicks and the 1970-74 Fleetwood Mac with future games and bare trees and kiln house and heroes are hard to find
I liked what the southern hippie chicks liked
Very very low slung very tight bell bottoms or fringe very short cut offs and dr scholls wooden sandals all clickety clack when they walked and tube tops god love em
Long straight hair...
Cotton or terry cloth bikinis before Body Glove..lol
Tanned in the south of course...
Christian Dior Miss Dior or early Bill Blass perfume....dayum
The early 70s before disco were good...very good
Getting old sux
Depeche Mode is frequently wifeys request for er......mood music
That and of course the most requested mood music by any English speaking born tween 1950 and 1970 or so
Roxy Music Avalon...
Tell me Im lying girls ...
You always sound so full of wisdom and facts from further back that I pegged your for like 75 :)
You just gained 15 years in a flash :)
Though just because a thought existed in my mind didn’t make it so..but that’s philosophy for another day!
I have a few bands on your list to look up that I have not heard of.
Well always have memories. :-)
I love that Birmingham and Tuscaloosa loved and knew Stevie & Lindsey pre-Fleetwood Mac days.
I traded Houses of the Holy for Buckingham Nicks in the 10th grade and I KNOW I got the better end of the deal.
Id kept both....I confess to liking Led Zeppelin too
My wife likes zeppelin
That and stones are her two favorite bands from my era
Shes eight plus years my junior and Im 60
Her first music memory is like Woodstock stuff which for me woulda been say late Elvis or doowop....i did not like doo wop....thats northern urban bent nose music to me..
Im thinking....first rock for me was mimicking I wanna hold your hand probably
Or Rick Nelson or the Everly brothers or Roy Orbison
The first rock sounding music for me may have been The Beach Boys or Duane Eddy
I was born after the start of Rock and Roll with Ike Turner with Rocket 88
But wow I was perfectly aged for the peak which to me was 1965-1978 of rock
Especially 67-73
